  1. yeah, i got no impression he is a greedy douchebag from him - if anything, he wants to try and bring a hint of normalcy in these shitty times. the above links show he's willing to continue support. of course, i'm biased but that's my view on it.

fuck if the skeeters are going to do it, why wouldnt the astros be able to do something similar?

  2. wife lost both of her grandmothers this year, pretty big hit for her and the families - don't realize how much it sucks until you have to stand outside a hospital window to say your final goodbyes to your grandmother. terrible feeling.

  3. a couple years ago for christmas, ERhine bought me 6 of these :s-l1600.jpgmy brother and i, and a few others, have started playing wiffle ball in my backyard and it's as fun as i remember when i was a little kid. no field set, just a pitchers rubber and a net to pitch into with makeshift markers as boundaries - the chimney is the fair pole, over neighbors tree is a homerun - hit an empty beer can along the fence? that counts as a 2 run HR. i didn't think about reinforcing the yellow bat though. hit the ball over the entire house? grand slam.

it's fun to be a kid.

  4. our all-star season ran the weekend before and during father's day - it's a very limited season - but hoping this will coincide with our league in houston. we don't play a summer season so hoping we can just push everything into the summer season and at least play a few games so it's not a total wash. it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out and what we actually end up doing. at least this is me talking optimistically - we've been working out 2-3 times a week since the season ended up not the same as actual game experience.

    *fingers crossed*

  5. i have my son doing some very basic towel drills prior and very light theraband work to get him introduced to using it and becoming more familiar with it as he gets older  (he's 6). i will likely put him through a throwing program over time as get gets older (junior high) but be smart about use and what exactly i'm having him do. i don't know what Kip is doing with his kids, but sounds like he has a pretty good game plan in place. when he gets older (HS), i'll start some concepts of driveline but really not until he's older will it do us much good. just remember the whole body is involved in throwing/pitching so incorporate drills and routines that focus on that.

like you guys mentioned, getting reps - consistent, quality reps - is just as important as game play at the younger age, reason why I won't do select ball until he's around 12.. I wish we could be out there playing but i know when i'm with him i have him putting in quality work that i can oversee without having to divide my attention across 10 other little kids an ultimately will serve him better.  selfishly i wish we were playing because my son's team is pretty good and likely would've won our league but i'm mostly saddened that i am losing a chance to be his coach. i only have so many times before i am no longer his coach and cherish every chance I get to be his coach. just sucks

  6. i never showed up to a game drunk from the night before, kept drinking at the game, somehow managed to sober up while still at said game and then go back out after the same game and get drunk again until i went to that chris burke game. god that shit was epic

  7. man i mustve gotten fucked up last night downtown with some of you heathens -  i eventually made it home to catch the end of the game - looks like i missed us throwing an opening day no-hitter? it says Aaron Sanchez started for us though - glad he was able to step up with JV's penis region trouble. Hopefully, Greinke comes through today, i just saw a picthing ninja clip of him throwin slow curves for 90 seconds, it was beautiful. too hungover to go to park tonight but hope you boys can hold it down.

can't go 162-0 if you don;t win the first one.

You would think that even with a 6:10 PM start there would be more people in EADO right now. It's like a ghost town down here.
