  1. Alabama might not make it if SMU can manage to make their loss competitive in the second half. ESPN push moved in SMU's favor today. I still think SMU should and does drop behind them but the political winds have changed and the committee lies if they say they don't pay attention.
  2. 2005 defense could just play super aggressively because they knew VY would score. This defense is better than 2005. 1983 certainly has an argument.
  3. He was elite at calling them as an OC. Overall as a head coach he has created an elite program. But part of that is because he's divided his attention. He needs play calling help. Look at elite OCs who stayed elite playcallers as head coaches. Their defenses suck (Lincoln Riley, Kilff Kingsbury; etc.). Obviously it's better to have a complete team but now he has to ask himself if he willing to swallow his pride on gameday playcalling.
  4. I mean the one we completed in overtime was absolutely blanketed and required a perfect throw and catch.
  5. So do we drop below Notre Dame? There are arguments both ways.
  6. Fuck. Hill overplayed it on that one but so frustrating. We beat ourselves a dozen different ways.
  7. Dammit saw that QB draw coming a mile away
  8. Can't miss that tackle. Let's go D. Get a stop.
  9. Okay he has sucked but have to give him credit there. That's was a pressure kick.
  10. Last two playcalls were just terrible
  11. Terrible time to call a slow developing play.
  12. Guilbeau blocks that guy and it's a touchdown.
  13. @immamac please change UTEX_ME's username because he's embarrassing my degree.
  14. Most frustrating part is that you can see we have the ability to win it all but it won't happen because we just can't play a complete game. Obviously there's time to put it all together but it's frustrating as hell to watch.
  15. The sideways run made it worse. 2nd and long you can pop runs up the middle sometimes.
  16. Funny but Smart will 100% say Beck couldn't go today but it's a light strain and will be fine in 1 week.
  17. Is this a serious question? Beck is barely getting passes off because their OL is getting dominated and holding just long enough for him to release it.
  18. He might be fine but he was placing maximum torque on that shoulder and then it got slammed in reverse. That is absolutely how labrum and UCL injuries happen in football.
  19. No, just like Oregon that was not planned at all. Lanning lied, don't believe that dude's press conference bluster.
  20. Nice answer, coach. Absolutely perfect. Most of our penalties were correctly called but they've been holding all game, too.
  21. This team is so frustrating. Obviously ecstatic with having a team that can be so good but we constantly make things harder for ourselves.
  22. Too late in his career now but Ewers never learned how to throw a ball away from pressure in the pocket. Just sail it 3 yards over the receiver's and defender's head toward the sideline. Peyton Manning was a master at that under pressure. It's why his slow self wasn't ever sacked much. But saying he is panicking is absurd. We saw what that looks like against them last time.
  23. I know that was 3rd and super long so didn't really count, but Sarkisian needs to figure out that runs where are back starts out going sideways don't work against this defense. Straight at them is our best shot at running. It won't be easy but it's a better chance.
  24. It was kind of a delayed launch but yeah. That actually makes it a little worse because he only launched after Becht had turned and it was now going to be contact through Becht's head. I agree with Slacks that the defender wasn't intending to hit him in the head as he was running in but it was 100% targeting. The defender's actions after Becht turned were all bad. He launched, then he drove him into the ground while making sure Becht's head slammed into the turf by keeping his helmet against Becht's facemask.
