  1. one thing that always boggles my mind is that if you start with the final play of the 1st half of the OK State game through the Baylor game til halftime of the KU game, Texas scored 152 unanswered points (38, 62, 52).

Thought I had considered everything about that team but this is incredible. That's like two straight games equal to Oklahoma's 77-0 blowout of A&M.

Not everyone is scared to lay the hefty price odds on the Warriors, though. In late September, a bettor at the SuperBook placed a $67,736.25 bet on Golden State to make the playoffs at -10,000 odds. If the Warriors reach the postseason, the bettor will win a net $677.35.

So this person couldn't figure out a way to make more than a 1% return on his $67K over a 7-month period? I mean I guess it's a pretty much guaranteed 1% return, but still.

For someone that is suppose to follow the team he does not understand Tom's concept of 1-0.

No shit, that's not very hard to interpret as far as coachspeak goes. Did we get better during the bye week? If yes, it's a win. If not, it's a loss. 1-0.

I'm not a big fan of the 1-0 silliness but it's pretty simple to figure out. I can get not liking the shtick, but not even getting it? That's pretty bad.

We also lost to NC State in 1997 despite outgaining them by 200 yards AND winning the turnover battle.

1999 and I don't think you can really consider yourself to have won the turnover battle when you get three punts blocked. They had 4 turnovers, we had 3. And we gave up 16 points directly off of blocked punts, right? As in their offense didn't even have to go on the field.

Look at Jack Trice tonight for a perfect example of a phenomenal stadium atmosphere.

Upsetting an undefeated top 10 opponent at night leads to a raucous stadium atmosphere. Noted.

  6. Longest droughts between 6-1 starts:

    1990-2001
    *2009-2018
    *1932-1941
    *1923-1932

So we tied the record for second longest drought in program history. Let's not do this again.

  7. I put that pass to Duvernay partially on the coaching staff. Reason being that he messed that throw up the exact same way that Ehlinger messes that throw up all the time, by throwing it too far upfield instead of across the field. Once the WR crosses the DB, or is about to cross the DB, it is a much easier throw, a much easier catch, and a much surer completion if you lead the receiver across the field more than up the field. Yeah, I'm like a broken record on this but we keep screwing it up the exact same way. We keep scheming our speedster wide open with only a CB on him and no safety help and then messing up the throw. At some point it's on the coaches to correct that in practice.

If one guy is screwing something up you can believe it's that player's fault. If multiple guys are making the exact same mistake consistently then the coaches bear some responsibility.

  8. Yep, the biggest improvement in his game this year is his work to use his body to shield the CB on those short slants on 3rd and short-to-medium. There have been at least 3 of those so far that would never have been complete, let alone first downs, in previous years.

@Huckleberry so aggy is the best 2 loss team in the nation and should be ranked right below us?

That's where they fall in the current EWP ratings. In reality "best" team can be defined lots of different ways and they've also been fortunate to play a bunch of teams who can't throw the ball while fielding a defense strong against the run that is shitty against the pass.
