If Mrs. Smith was not an employee, why would Mrs. Meyer have a reporting obligation?

Everyone mentions that Title IX as "possible" reporting obligation, but "probably" under general univ. rules and I obviously don't get it.

Does any employee have to report any accusation against any other employee (Mr.Smith)? Sounds pretty broad.

    From above:

    "Shelley Meyer, a state employee.

Shelley Meyer could have violated the school’s Sexual Misconduct Policy and potentially Title IX, if she did not notify her supervisor of Courtney Smith’s repeated abuse."

And no, you don't have to report any accusation against another employee.  But there may be something whereby employees should feel compelled to report if they feel there was a real and present criminal act that took place or could take place by another on staff.  I have no idea what the employee handbook says in Ohio though, so perhaps not.

    V. Reporting Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

    A. Reports/complaints of alleged sexual misconduct can be made by any individual who is directly involved in, who observes, or who reasonably believes that sexual misconduct may have occurred. This includes allegations by third parties against any individual covered by this policy. See IV-Employee Duty to Report section. Note below that only some reporting methods satisfy this duty.

Despite lies and flip-flops numerous times, Trump was seen as genuine because his ideas were emphatically his.

No, if the first part of your sentence is "(d)espite lies and flip-flops numerous times" then the only explanation for someone being seen as genuine is that the person seeing them that way is an idiot. Full stop.

It's nice that prices are being lowered, but then you realize you're still paying $3 for 20 ounces of tap water in a plastic bottle. $4 for a drink that costs $1.89 at the convenience store.

Overhead at the stadium and convenience store are very similar, so I see your arguement.

This was a terrible post for multiple reasons, but ERhine already touched on two of them. Good work.

Beto needs to seize that photo and make it part of his own ad.  Take the bite out of the attack, and own the narrative.  He's an everyman--he was in a band in his youth; he committed youthful indiscretions; and now he's a grown-up looking to provide grown-up solutions, and not petty name-calling and un-Texan sycophancy.

This shall be called the Rabbit strategy.

    Now, everybody from the USA
Put your motherfucking hands up and vote my way
    Everybody from Texas state
Put your motherfucking hands up! Look, look...
    Now, while he stands tough
Notice that this man did not have his hands up
This Raffy Cruz's got you gassed up
Now, who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
One, two, three, and to the four
One Trump, two Trump, three Trump, four
Four Trump, three Trump, two Trump, one
You're Trump, he's Trump, no Trump, none
This guy ain't no motherfucking Texan
I know everything he's 'bout to say next and
I am white, I am a bit progressive
I did pose for a picture in a dress with
My two boys in our punk rock band
I do travel this great State in my truck and
I am a Democrat running in Texas
Attack ads have started, they'll be coming next with
    He's a socialist or maybe he's a Marxist
I'm still standing here screaming, "Fuck your rigged markets!"
Don't ever try to judge me, dude
You don't know what the fuck I've been through
But I know something about you
You don't defend your family, now ain't that true?
What's the matter, dawg, you embarrassed?
You let a yankee talk shit about your parent
But not just your father, he talked shit about your girl
Then you begged him please can I be part of your world
This guy don't wanna battle, he's used up and done
'Cause he's about as Texan as Celine Dion

Well that was bad enough, I will stop before everyone's migraine gets worse.

A lot of safe places here.

Lots of that schedule makes sense. But are either Cruz or his campaign aware how far apart Copperas Cove and Cypress are?

    San Antonio and Seguin. Okay.
    Houston and Pearland. Okay.
    San Angelo. Okay.
    Abilene and Brownwood. Okay.
    Killeen and Temple. Okay.
    Copperas Cove and Cypress. Uh.

Shouldn't Copperas Cove just be done with Killeen and Temple? I guess he's stopping in Cypress on his way to catch a flight out of Houston, just seems strange.

    Hahaha.

He failed with his words. Words are hard. I can see how not being prepared to discuss something could make you accidentally say that something you know happened actually never happened and that a reporter completely made it up.

    What a bunch of bullshit.
  9. Not much to the behind the scenes stuff. I disagreed with the way they were going with it so I would very frequently give suspensions to people before another moderator would get there and deliver a longer one or a banning. The admin entry screen for suspensions and bannings was based on days and I would enter .125 pretty often to give someone a three hour suspension. Not sure I ever banned anyone permanently other than obvious A&M and OU trolls. I do admit to having a quick trigger finger on those.

Best/worst memory of the place is being the first person I know of to publish "composite" recruiting ratings and then not being smart enough to move forward with that idea. My composite ratings were actually cited in an Athlon (I think) season preview for some team where they said an incoming recruit had been ranked whatever in the Huckleberry Top Texas 75. That was pretty funny.

Here's an appeal to authority since you like this, an Ohio Title IX attorney said

You have to report all violations of sexual misconduct, even those regarding third parties.

Oh, here's a relevant authority, Ohio State policy available at https://hr.osu.edu/wp-content/uploads/policy115.pdf:

    Quote

The university community seeks to eliminate sexual misconduct through education and by encouraging everyone to report concerns or complaints,

including third parties when the accused is a member of the university community.

Why do we need to build a Great Wall? The Mongols haven’t destroyed us and raped and pillaged yet.

That's pretty much the exact right answer in terms of analogy. The response should be "No country has ever successfully invaded and conquered the United States of America, so according to your logic we should stop spending money on the military and our national defense."

  12. As discussed recently, the best news is that the Senate race should be the top race on the ballot. Hopefully you can catch people who would otherwise get a few races in, realize they are just going to vote straight ticket, then go back and do that. In this case if they want to vote for O'Rourke they know they can't do that early in the endless ballot scroll.

Yeah, this is exactly the kind of immigrant we need more of. There is zero explanation for discharging and working to deport someone like this other than racism. Zero.

I think there are many republicans that are ashamed of what Trump is doing so they don't want to answer any questions about voting.   I'm not saying that they're telling a pollster they are voting Beto but rather undecided or not voting.    I have zero evidence of this but rather a feeling some Cruz voters won't admit they are voting for him.

Voting for Cruz should be embarrassing but it's not in Texas. I can absolutely see Trump voters lying to pollsters but not Cruz voters.
