  1. Correct, they can only get out of the NLI if we release them. But I believe the NLI still binds them for a full year, correct?
  2. How would it be a conflict of interest? His duty is to his clients and he's helping all of them make more money by using them to help each other. A conflict would be if he was getting paid by the schools.
  3. The good news would be you tell him he's on the hot seat after a loss and probably win some money after he attacks you if you get close enough.
  4. The room would be there if current Tide players leave in the next four weeks.
  5. My first assumption is that if he has space lots of these UW guys are planning to follow DeBoer to Alabama.
  6. Hire a new coach who had exactly 3 losses in his last two seasons at a powerish school including a Sugar Bowl win? Texas did do that.
  7. No, I'm talking about the reasoning being that none of them have caught touchdowns in national championship games. I agree the group as a whole may be weaker (but as someone else mentioned you're talking top 2 while as pass catching threats the top 3 next season may be better - no disrespect to Whittington but he made lots plays when the design made it easy but brought a ton of other value), but leaning on that is silly. It means almost no team ever has a great receiving corps heading into a season.
  8. No but it was funny because you're being absurd.
  9. Yep, I graduated in '99 and used TEX every semester. My Goodbye and Good Luck cap was like a beacon for 45 and older fans at the Sugar Bowl while those under that age didn't give it a second look.
  10. I figure leave it. We don't have threads for other individual schools' coaching searches usually. And his replacement is directly related.
  11. A guy who has been coaching way longer has way more results? No way.
  12. Most of it was pretty good but a guy who knows that cheating and breaking rules was part of his dominance preaching about the importance of an even playing field was pretty gross.
  13. Correct. This is not embarrassing for the NATAS. They judge the show, why would anyone think they need to know the name of every person who worked on it?
  14. I look forward to Texas's next coaching search when dozens of whiners on this board or whatever iteration takes its place cry about how our coaching searches are so embarrassing and completely forget how the vast majority of coaching searches at other big time programs look the exact same.
  15. Was able to copy the text by stopping the page load before the website caught up. Sorry for formatting.
  16. I mean he's a great coach who doesn't seem to like recruiting all that much. Seems like a smart move for him even if it's bad for the Huskies.
  17. So you're saying to get better he will need to improve. Interesting analysis.
  18. I know right, Texas did that totally backwards, you're supposed to overpay for a coach's history and then after he doesn't produce he gets fucking paid. Again. /A&M
  19. You're worried even though the books are still saying they're more likely to hire James fucking Franklin? I'll worry once Sarkisian is second behind Lanning.
  20. With respect to the argument that it was all Tom Brady, here are playoff scores from their titles together. 16-13, 24-17, 20-17 over perhaps the best offense ever at the time 17-14, 24-14, 32-29, two titles and Brady's offense scored 25 points exactly once in 6 playoff wins so far and averaged 22.2 ppg (average NFL offense) 20-3, 41-27, 24-21 --------- (this is the transition) 35-31, 45-7, 28-24 their 4th title was the first one where the offense produced well in the playoffs 34-16, 36-17, 34-28 41-28, 37-31, 13-3(!!!) 4 out of their 6 titles together don't happen if their defense wasn't excellent when it mattered. They were both awesome and neither would have won nearly as much without the other. And the above doesn't even include Brady leading one of the greatest offenses ever to the below playoff scores 31-20, 21-12, 14-17 Averaged 36.8 ppg in the season then 22 in the playoffs.
  21. Wow, hadn't seen that. Maybe my Pedro point is the exception that proves the rule.
