  1. They did have more potential but they've had a small time mindset and UTSA rode their one advantage (being in San Antonio) to a big lead. This lifeline gives them a way to reverse their errors and get a second chance but they have to change their attitude.
  2. You understand that he gets a notification when you quote him, you don't have to also @ him, right?
  3. Selfishly and strategically they should have tried harder to bring in the Texas State/UTSA rivalry. Pac-7 should have offered them a bunch to make it happen. You are staving off death. At this point they should still try to beat the MWC to Texas State to reach 8. Get in the central time zone with a potential growth program. Then take your time. Maybe UTEP, but once you reach conference size requirements you can do more thorough research.
  4. I mean what are their options? They've done well so far given the hand they were dealt. And of course it will be better, they just took the best teams in the MWC. The one they didn't get that people thought they should have just got outed as being a broke-ass program that has coaches making promises they can't deliver on.
  5. Fuck 'em. They can miss every football game at OU and go on to live happy and healthy lives.
  6. Of course. I was viewing the discussion as taking place within the current NFL structure (no minor league teams, current roster sizes). In which case zero high school QBs would be drafted.
  7. It's been mentioned consistently that Ewers and Manning are aware of the study that says 25 college starts is correlated pretty strongly with NFL success. QBs absolutely wouldn't be drafted out of high school.
  8. They should simultaneously drop that stupid abbreviation and move to TSU. Who cares if Texas Southern or Tarleton State use that? Texas State should be branding themselves in a different stratosphere. We're Texas State. We're TSU.
  9. I mean their name is Texas State. They need to start acting like the BSDs their institution name says they should be.
  10. Fuck yes. Texas State needs to go to the Pac-12. They can have a State division Washington, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, Utah, and of course the most famous state of Boise.
  11. I think it might be safer but it's unnecessary. It's entirely reasonable that if I were offered a job in Las Vegas that I might relocate only if a separate deal to provide additional income goes through. If that separate agreement falls through then I can no longer work for the main employer. "Sorry boss, my housing arrangement fell through and with nowhere to live I can't work for you anymore."
  12. Late to this but this isn't a problem with the 12 team playoff. It's a problem caused by consolidation into super conferences that for some reason lots of fans love because the corporate interests who make money off of it on their TVs tell them it's awesome.
  13. The NFL quite literally gives guaranteed money in many cases. Pretty sure he was referring to that last argument
  14. The talk in here that the 2-Pac is clueless is silly, especially when it comes from the fan of a school that was surprised to lose in court and see all the Pac-12 assets remain with those two schools.
  15. Maybe he crows a bit too loudly and Saban heads to Chapel Hill to go 20-4 in two seasons right after Mack retires following a 4-8 debacle.
  16. So crazy. He is playing against guys who were in 5th grade when he was a senior in high school.
  17. Ah I remember when those of us who watched Arnold play were just biased haters when we said Arnold wasn't that good. He played at Guyer, we watched multiple full games of the guy, he was a low 4 star prospect at best. Fringe high 3 star. One of the most confusing 5 star ratings I've seen.
  18. Maine needs to change theirs as soon as possible because this won't be the last time they try this shit.
  19. #5 seed could very well be the best team in the country many years with an upset loss in the CCG.
  20. They got a safety twice. The entire ball did not get out of the end zone on the play before it looked like to me. Certainly should have been reviewed.
  21. Well to be fair Arnold was absurdly overrated as a recruit and is just plain not a real 5 star. He got that rating because OU wanted him. He's always been a mid P5 QB at best. So the stupid part was letting Gabriel go. Figuring out Arnold isn't the answer is actually one of the first smart things Venables has done offensively.
  22. And October 23 this year is a day further from Election Day than October 22 was in 2020. They need to frame it that way. "The last debate in 2020 was 12 days before Election Day. October 23 this year is 13 days before Election Day. He's scared."
