  1. That is the most twisted partisan view you could possibly have. China is losing North Korea as a buffer. Japan and South Korea are the biggest winners. The South now has a huge military arsenal on their north border to defend against Chinese invasions.
  2. If the 2 countries are unified and democratic, it doesn't matter what NK does with their nukes. South Korea has twice the population of the North so I don' t think we have much to worry about. I think Kim understands that at some point, his family is going to lose control over the country. Even if he keeps and iron grip, his sons or grandsons will eventually lose and his entire family probably ends up dead. He was educated in the West and knows how fucked up his country is even if his people don't. If he exits now, he's go down in history like Gorbachev instead of a Gaddafi or Saddam.
  3. They are already past the sale on denuclearization. They are talking reunification. That's a big fucking deal. NK just released US prisoners ahead of the summit. https://www.ft.com/content/871bce30-4dd6-11e8-8a8e-22951a2d8493
  4. It's amazing how the rhetoric has gone from nuclear war to reunification over the past 6 months. Both the North and South Koreans are winning big here. Kim will be making an official trip to the USA inside of 2 years. Book it.

Sorry for scooping the story Hugo but this was too important!
  6. Thomas wants a new deal and he's threatened to hold out if he doesn't get one. As of today Dallas is sitting at around 9 million in cap space. That doesn't include the $3 million they are going to get for Scandrick June 1. Hell.. if they cut Crawford, they would save 6 million post June 1. Dallas' cap situation should improve dramatically next year too btw. 24 million in dead cap space (dez and romo made up a huge chunk this year) will only be around 1.6 million. 2019 Dallas has 64 million in cap space available. Martin will probably eat a chunk as will Lawrence and Irving but still.. They will be able to afford Thomas if they really want him.
  7. He's probably going to hold out now too. They might get fewer than 8 games from him this year and no picks at all if they don't trade him soon.

He wont be the first and wont be the last to retweet a fake quote. I think his heart is in the right place and like it or not, he's getting people talking and discussing this issue differently. Maybe there is something to the argument that lower expectations create worse outcomes. When I was growing up I was told by my father, "If you are shooting for the moon, aim above it, not at it." I am sure he got it from somewhere else but the message got through to me. Shoot high so you'll be happy where you land. If you understand that, he's made his point. He's made it in such a way that you are being forced into talking about him and what he said.

Which he did.. Here is Kayne's tweet storm from last night.

In the era of fakenews, it's a good idea to get the complete story and I don't think the video provided by the OP gives context. I went to Kanye's twitter and he's retweeting Candace Owens on this topic left and right while talking about this subject for weeks. Which is more likely in your mind. 1) Kanye actually believes that slavery was a choice. 2) He was continuing his mental prison analogy.
  11. It's pretty insane that he's approaching 2k posts already. If Rocko and Derka can get a mental health ban, it might be helpful for Hugo to get the same. There are plenty of other leftists that can ctrl+c and ctrl+v while he's gone.

That's where the communication broke down and a lot of that is Kanye's fault. He's using an analogy to make his point by saying we are in a mental prison and slaves in our own minds. That context matters. He is saying that focusing on slavery today is a choice. There are no individuals alive that lived through the period where blacks were slaves in the USA but we are still talking about it as if it was last week. It's a choice whether or not we make the harm inflicted upon us become part of our cultural identity. To Kanye, this is a psychological hurdle the black community needs to overcome. That's what his whole Candace Owens plug was all about and it's pretty sad that they are twisting what he's saying like this. Overall, his message is very positive and forward thinking. Let go of the past and break free of the chains of lower expectations. I think this sums up what angle he's going for. He just needs to work on the delivery so it's not taken out of context.

btw.. the actual quote that the OP's video omitted. “When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice. Like, you were there for 400 years and it’s all of you all? Like, we’re mentally in prison. Like, slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks,”

  15. The content of her posts were offensive and not inline with the current party politics, but they weren't at the time they were written. I can assure you that many of the people within the democratic party still share those views. Some democrats are still against gay marriage. There are also still racists in the democratic party too. The idea that everyone in the party has to agree on every single issue when the party platform is constantly evolving is a recipe for disaster. You can't have ideological purity coexist in a progressive platform a they are mutually exclusive concepts. Joy Reid has the freedom of thought and we shouldn't be trying to take that away. She should be allowed to make mistakes and evolve like everyone else. However, the atmosphere created during the election was such that if anyone disagreed with any platform issue, they were labeled immoral and viciously attacked. The attacks on Joy Reid are the result of that. She was left with 2 choices: Own her mistake or lie. Why do you think she chose to lie? I don't believe she lied because she was worried about the attacks from conservatives and Republicans in general because so many of them would probably agree with her statements. She's used to being attacked by them. Her real fear was the backlash from her own party that she knows wouldn't forgive that mistake. That her career would be destroyed. So she threw up a Daniel Figurelli hail mary and hoped that hacking claims would cause just enough doubt that she could escape the scandal's initial wave until the next story turned the public's attention elsewhere. The real question we need to ask ourselves is if we want to live in this environment where everyone who doesn't 100% fit into the party platform is viewed as the enemy and attacked for it. People need to be able to share ideas and different perspectives and have the war be over ideas, not personalities.
  16. Just curious... what awful opinions did you have in the past that you are ashamed of? You seem to be really hammering on this point for some reason. In my own experience, I was duped into thinking the war in Iraq was necessary. I was young and didn't understand what was going on behind the scenes. People evolve and grow as they get older. Being able to admit that you were wrong and move past that isn't something to be ashamed of. If someone like Joy Reid doesn't come clean though and goes about lying about it, why should we trust her? How do we know she doesn't still have those feelings?
  17. Missed that one. My bad. Still don't view him as a turnover machine. http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15786/tavon-austin
  18. Clearly it was a wasted pick because we didn't get Adrian Peterson in his prime for a 6th rounder.
  19. So the new definition of fumble prone is 4 fumbles out of 184 runs, 158 returns and 194 catches.. So less than 1 fumble per 100 touches. Zeke fumbled 6 times out of 564 runs and 58 receptions.. Is he fumble prone? I seriously doubt you've followed much of Tavon's career if you don't think he's worth a 6th.
  20. Injuries are part of the game. Oakland reached on a pick and he didn't live up to expectation. Maybe he is a better fit here. Since we are revamping the passing game and special teams, Switzer wasn't going to make the team. It's a good thing we got something for him.
  21. Injuries and moving him all over the line are the main problems he had to face. Cowboys have seen him in the shared practices over the past couple years so the staff is familiar with him. Based on what happened in the draft, it's a safe bet to assume they are going to be watching the June 1 cuts.
  22. Just when I though Rachel Dolezal's 15 minutes of fame were up...
  23. Austin being on the field doesn't kick Zeke off. You can still have Zeke run those routes but it's probably best if we don't 100% rely on Zeke on every down. Go watch New Orleans and KC last year. How they used Hill and Kamara is going to be the blueprint of how we are going to use Austin. It creates huge matchup problems. If Zeke and Austin are on the field at the same time, what kind of defense do you run? If they go Nickel, shift to the empty set.. Zeke and/or Austin are being covered by a safety or a linebacker. Or they can just run it against the nickel. Having a RB that is a threat to the edge of the defense and can play WR causes a lot of problems.
