  1. This..... alway..... this. All hate should be directed at Jerrah and the Jones' family. LOL! I heard he asked Sam Williams to negotiate it for him. Agreed. Winning hasn't even come to be the focus for this franchise. When you define yourself by net worth or most valuable or whatever monetary accomplishment you seek to accomplish, then this becomes the culture of the organization. With other places, it's about winning. With the Dallas Cowboys, it's about money or monetary worth. That's it. Jerrah has more money then he could hope to spend and more money then 5 generations of his family could hope to spend, but they still want more? Why? Because it's what they equate to success. Monetary accomplishments, not on the field. Folks shouldn't forget this. No organization with a "GM" who has failed constantly and spectacularly for 30 years and kept him employed can really argue they're about winning. Sucks for fans, but the Jones' focus isn't about winning. If that helps the cause, then all the better, but it's not their goal.
  2. I just wanted to come back to this, because it's yet another thing the Cowboys media floats out there at the behest of the Jones'. Yes, the NFL comes out with the initial positional indications, but the club can correct them, especially up. Again, the Cowboys didn't do it because Jerrah felt is was leverage, and is an old, bitter, petty egotist. Just wanted to clear this up because I'm sure you heard correct from whatever source, but it was put out there by the front office.
  3. An amazing character actor who could do it all..... drama, comedy, thriller, etc. Love him in his small role in Maverick where he pokes a little fun at his immortalized role of Kicking Bird in Dances with Wolves. So funny in all the scenes. Here's one. We lost a great one. RIP.
  4. So here is Bland's contract. It's not as bad as previous thought because it's backloaded with money he probably never sees. It was also marginally misreported initially. Basically, this works out to be about 17-18m (if they don't touch it) guaranteed for 3 years. 18m is what I thought would be a good takedown for Bland and 16m AAV would be good for the Cowboys. It's not as bad as 23m AAV although they only get him for 3 years. If he plays out of his mind, they could just ride on the 4th year at 26.5, but he'd have to be so good, it would just be control to work out another contract. I think, while a bit risky with the guarantees for a guy coming off injury, it's not nearly the overpay as first reported. I can get down with this one.
  5. 100% this. He was sped up for no reason because he got solid protection most downs. But he sub-consciously sped himself up which led to him not turning his shoulders or feet towards the target. It's almost like he was trying to show he could make all these Matthew Stafford type of arm angle throws without his feet underneath him. It was very strange because the mistakes he was making in technique are extremely foundational and simple. It's stuff that he's been taught 1000 times, but it's what happens when you're confused, processing slowly and the clock in your head is so sped up, you cheat on your mechanics and make bad and inaccurate passes. He just needs to chill a bit.... slow himself down and process quicker.
  6. And..... this is on brand. I like Bland, I do, but his interception streak was fluky as fuck and last year when put in position to be the CB1, he failed miserably. Now, you've give him almost 100m and 24m AAV. But 44m for Micah was too much? Again, this isn't about economic responsibility, it's about Jerrah's feelings. Daron is a good soldier so he gets overpaid.
  7. Yes, that and the down before it were simply really bad throws. He didn't get his feet under him and make a good throw. Can't run from those throws. Have to get his feet underneath them. He was extremely inconsistent, no doubt and he will get better with reps.
  8. May have to bring in some different thought leaders. Self-evaluation. Re-adjust his tendencies? Again, we ran the ball well but things have to get better in the RZ. It's unacceptable.
  9. Ehhh.... He was pretty good, but I don't think they were elite schematically and he didn't recruit any of that secondary. 1 turnover Gave up 336 total yards 170 yards given up rushing with 4.5 YPC Texas was in the RZ 4 times. This wasn't some dominating performance. Texas really did a poor job in the RZ..... again. This is becoming a hallmark of Sark and he needs to solve it quickly. Gotta score TDs in the RZ, even against top 10 teams.
  10. Again, I agree, I want to play these games, but I would advocate from a scheduling perspective to work out some kinks with a patsy the first week. Play SJSU and then OSU. It's all good and I'm hopeful Arch will learn from this and get much better.
  11. I think he means in general. Michigan last year? 2nd game of the season. Bama in 23'? 2nd game of the season. There's reasons to resist going on the road opening weekend. Still, the game, while pretty ugly, was good for college football. Hope it's good for this year's team.
  12. Agreed. Rough game for Arch. His inaccuracy is extremely concerning. His slow processing is sort of expected considering his first big game on the road against an elite defense, but the game was there to win. It could have been taken, but ultimately Arch wasn't good enough and frankly, neither was Sark. His game plan sucked and schematically he played so conservatively, it was strange. Arch will get better, he has 3 chumps to get better on and then a daunting road game at the Swamp. He will get and be better but this wasn't the start any of us, including him, hoped for.
  13. Wonder what the cheapest team in the league the last half dozen years is going to do with all that cap space??? Hmmm...... They had an enormous amount of cap space before the trade so, this is a stupid point. There was absolutely a case to trade Parsons. If this was your default position then cool..... but as usual Jerrah was late to the party, didn't do his due diligence on the market and shop him, and ended up getting a bag of magic beans for a top 5 defensive player. You didn't want to pay him? Okay, but you shop him before the draft when all the teams have cap space. But again, it wasn't that they didn't want to pay him, it's Jerrah's money got mad because Micah didn't let him dictate the negotiation, so he he threw a tantrum and traded a great player at the worst possible time for one of the worst packages they could get. He just told the fanbase, we're not really interested in 2025...... see you in 2026 where by Jerrah will sell the oasis of hope once again.... for the 30th year, only to convince people to drink dirt.
  14. First, Dak can't be moved unless Dak wants to be moved, he has a no trade clause. Second, because of the way the Cowboys structured it and because they re- structured to free up more cash to presumably...... trade for a 29 year DT, please look at the cap hit it would take to trade Dak. Jerrah doesn't know what he wants other than fans to what you're doing right now. To contort their logical perspective to convince them Jerrah has a plan and this is all part of it. He doesn't. He hasn't for 30 years. When he thinks he has a plan, he will quickly deviate or divert. Just accept that his franchise is lost. It's dead stick in the air and they hope some type of miracle will save them like a UDFA QB or a 4th round gift QB when they were aiming for fucking Paxton Lynch. This isn't a pivot to a generational pass rusher when they had a CB queued up. This isn't an intended reboot, this wasn't a planned move to "improve the run defense". This is the same exercise a fish does when flailing for water..... That's what this franchise is.... a flailing goldfish slowly choking to death. They're going to do something really stupid like trade one of those #1 picks for a RB and watch all the lemmings coming trotting back saying..... "We're back, bitches"! But they won't be. Just a circus and on and on it goes. And it will be funny....
  15. Schotty's fucked. He was handed his death notice today and he'll be blamed for all of this when we all know who's issue this is. Good people suffer when they have to answer to a moron. And yea, the narrative (in rumors) coming out the next couple of weeks of Valley Ranch will be blaming all of this on Micah - how he was a locker room issue and couldn't be coached and didn't do this or that. Don't be a fucking minion and fall for it. It's all just excuses and noise being planted by the front office. This is an embarrassment of an organization and Jerrah's pathetic answer today just made him look senile and impotent.... That's a 4-5 year plan..... When have the Jones' ever committed to anything that long and when have the Jones' ever committed to a plan? Everything is done on instinct... emotion and hurt feelings.
  16. No. It was any other franchise in professional sports and Jerry knew it was true. The cowboys are the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NFL.
  17. It’s going to be seen as one of the worst trades in NFL history. 2 picks in the back third of the draft and an almost 30 year old NT. Hahaha. Poetic I guess. Jerry should just go out now. He gaveth (Walker trade but really Jimmy) and now he’s taken away. It’ll take folks a few months to understand how bad this trade is. It’s historically terrible.
  18. lol!!!!!!! Jerrah got totally ass fucked on this deal. 2 picks in the 20s and a good but not special IDL. Hahahaha… for the best defensive player they’ve had since Ware. What a fucking failure the Jones’ family is….
  19. I’m pretty much here…. Smartest player we’ve had. The Cowboys are catastrophe and the worst managed team in the NFL. Why commit your prime years. The only thing left is looking forward to Jerry dying.
  20. The dumbest muthafucker in sports in any professional sport is and has been killing the Dallas Cowboys for over 3 decades.
  21. This is such a weird comment. The stats are there for you to find. Dallas is literally one of, if not the best defense in the league when Micah plays. When he doesn't, the Cowboys are the 2nd worst. If folk don't think Micah is an elite defensive player, basically top 5, then they either don't follow football, don't understand football, or simply suffering from an intense case of cognitive dissonance.....
  22. And...... it appears Micah is preparing to get the, "My back is jacked, pay me" card. Here's a little more..... About those grievances..... yea, he already filed one. This could get nasty and probably will tank the season. Maybe Dallas just needs Charles Haley to put his helmet through the locker room wall and scare the piss out of Jerrah again. Fun times when you have to deal with the Jones reindeer games....
  23. Again, I don't think this is about Sam being a starting QB in the league, that window is probably gone by now, it's etching out a career as a backup. Denver has 2 guys under 30 signed until 27' on the roster. Stidham was the first QB Payton signed when he got to Denver and they just paid up the ass for him to come back and be the backup - 2/12 with 7 guaranteed. Denver like most teams has decided to only carry 2 QBs, so there's no real place for Sam to ascend unless his plan is to be 3rd QB and make less money shuttling between the active roster and PS for the next 2 years. While the other 2 teams probably didn't offer much more than the vet minimum for this year (still way more than what he's making now), but we can surmise they probably have ab unsettled backup position and Sam would have had the opportunity to work towards capturing the #2 position, which is the catbird seat for guys like Colt and Chase Daniel to make tons of money although they never really had to play all that much. I think that's Sam's ceiling at this point.... a good next 7-8 years as a #2 making 2-5m a season as a vet backup who's steady when called upon but ultimately, good in the QB room and always prepared. There's no immediate opportunity in Denver for this and if rumors are correct and Stidham has comfortably accepted his own role as #2 in the league and likes it, then he probably sticks with Denver as long as they're fair with him. Where does that leave Sam?
  24. Not a great business decision..... Two 20 something's in front of him and Sitdham had a great offseason to be their backup. I don't think there is an expectation to become more than a backup but it appears he may have had a market to be just that and get some 2-3 job security. Now, he has to wait for an injury. Denver's a cool city to hang and I'm going to guess Denver paid him way more than a reg PS player.
  25. I love the.... I don't really vibe with the city or its culture and I don't venture out of my tiny little bubble.... but let me tell you what real San Antonians think and what the city really needs..... and while I'm at it, let me tell you about the local tourism and what it's really about. The bloviating of this blowhard is at an 11..... It was funny for a few posts, but dude can't read a room or a thread. Time to go fuck up another thread with your 67 IQ, helobious? What do you think? Last call?
