  1. Sure..... But then let's acknowledge that Star Wars ripped it off of a fantastic British movie called The Dam Busters, even plagiarizing huge parts of dialogue. If you don't care about that, then you probably shouldn't care about this.
  2. They don't want to take on Joe Harris' 2 years and 19m dollars apparently. Curry is last year of his contract. I just get the feeling we don't know how much pressure the Nets' owner is putting on Marks and company to get rid of KD and Kyrie immediately. An impatient owner can be the curse of a franchise.
  3. He hasn't been worth 5 wins in 3 years. He's a pretty terrible player now. Probably not as bad as last year, but he's not a winning player. I understand not wanting him but I just don't think he wants to go to a tanking team anymore. I think he'd sit out (with the Spurs very much onboard) while we could see if there was any injury which would allow us to dump after the December deadline. If not, buy him out..... That's a high price for draft picks (20m+ per first rounder). It's not the strangest idea, but I don't think it's very likely either.
  4. He ain't gonna fuck up a tank at this stage of his career. But doubt he'd want to report, probably be a buyout situation if we couldn't dump him after a month or two.
  5. Haynes is pretty plugged in. Again, I have no idea why Marks would do this as it's a shit return, but the owner may be pressuring him to get Kyrie the fuck out of their franchise. We also know Kyrie has hurt his trade value, but I have to think another team would want to roll the dice. Shit, maybe like a Denver or Portland who are desperate. You mean for the Lakers first rounders in 27 and 29? Not sure what the Lakers would want off the Spurs? Poeltl? Josh Richardson? Or do you mean as a 3rd team and facilitator?
  6. I saw a rumor about Dallas, somewhere in the low 20's, but could be total bullshit. Otherwise, yea, really quiet on him. So is Kyrie....
  7. The issue is they don't have many assets..... What could they really give? I mean the rumor I've seen is so bad..... Westbrook, TGT, and a 2027 first for Irving and Joe Harris. If I'm Marks, I laugh, but teams seem to really fuck this up all the time. What good is having Westbrook on your team next year? TGT is a jag. So a first in 5 years for Irving and Joe Harris? Shit, you could probably get a 1st for Joe Harris on his own (all sort of protections). I mean this is where I would dig in my heels as Marks if my owner could handle it. You sat on us last year, Kyrie? Your ass can fuck off. Report or be fined and we'll see if your "list" grows a little. I wouldn't let Kyrie force himself anywhere.
  8. KD for Ingram, Murphy, and some picks instead..... then everything rides on Zion's foot. Marks already says he does, so let's stop pretending that he doesn't. And they traded down in the draft because they were worried about the money it would take to extend him...... Another disaster for Jordan. This one not really of his making, but the franchise is never going to be good if it's so cheap.
  9. How the fuck can this race be a pick em'? I guess Robson is the only sort of sane person on the stage and I use that term lightly. The rest of them shouldn't be leading a girl scout troop, let alone a state. We really are living in the idiocracy.
  10. They're really not. This is why top line numbers suck for comparisons and cherry picking a late bloomer always needs to be scrutinized. If Dort breaks out on 50 win team next year for a PER over 21, TS% over .580, WS/48 over .200 (which is almost elite) and a total WS of somewhere over 11 (Dort's total in 3 years is 2.5) for the season, then maybe you can draw the comparison. Until then, you just look like a homer..... Look, I like Rudy. I think he's a good player and he generally plays hard during the season but the team giving up 4 1st rounders, 3 with no protections, is how you Timberwolves yourself into this shit. If everyone is healthy, could it mean a few more wins? Sure, lmaybe. But both Rudy and KAT struggle in the playoffs. KAT, maybe call it not enough experience but Gobert? He gets schemed into mismatches. I guess you could blame it on Snyder. Or maybe Mitchell, since they hate each other. But the package the Twolves gave up is more like one for a top 15 player..... I'm not sure I can go there with Rudy in crunch time. Again, I do think he's a player of value. He'll have to prove it in the playoffs....
  11. So because your organization is abysmal at drafting, we should trust them in trading? I know it has to be soul wrecking exercise to come up every summer and defend the Twolves and their mismanagement of maybe the best basket of draft assets over the past decade. Come up and explain why this guy or this pick or this trade is actually a good thing. Knowing deep down, the Wolves will most likely fuck it up. I feel for ya, MN. It’s like being a Longhorn football fan the last decade….
  12. Well, they also believe paradise is in Utah and Joseph Smith was a prophet, so their opinions are circumspect.....
  13. 4 firsts for a big you'll have a hard time playing in the playoffs??? Hmmm..... I'm thinking Minnesota..... just did Minnesota things.
  14. So he could play with Jakob's ladder and Keldon Johnson? I'm sure he'd be thrilled by that reality. Our best chance was when he was leaving OKC. He doesn't seem to like small markets..... although Phoenix isn't huge.
  15. Pretty sure when he signed his extension, there was a gentlemen's agreement that if it ever didn't work out or he wanted to move on, the Nets front office would take care of him. I think you can blame him for wanting Kyrie as his Robin, but so did the Nets. I also think Kyrie opted in only because he couldn't see getting what he wanted on the open market this summer but he still wants to go somewhere else. Time to blow it up. They were a big toe away from probably the Finals and probably a title. Sucks for them, but they took their shot..... just don't arm yourself with crazy Kyrie. Your way is how you piss off agents and other players. It would feel good, but it's not going to make your organization better.
  16. 1. Somewhat. We only want to take on contracts which will help the end goal. We can be facilitators too, getting into deals and taking bad contracts, who we buy out, for draft capital. Have to make use of the all the cap room. 2. I don't really care. Good for them. They're going to move a couple more pieces so I wouldn't worry what they look like now. But how they do isn't really of concern. 3. A top 3 pick should garner a very good player. Look at the Rockets, they were at 3 and may have gotten the best player in the draft. But yes, #1 in a strong year would be just the thing that keeps the Spurs in SA, NBA..... are you seeing? 4. You trade them.... maybe together, maybe not. Maybe before the season, maybe not. Poeltl could easily garner a late first by himself. And yea, a couple of vets who are transitioning into coaching would be fine. All these young guys can't play all the minutes. Richardson is probably the starting SG if he sticks around. Now..... let's go!
  17. Not exactly. He could extend next summer but said he wasn't going to because he'd be due for a bigger extension coming out of his contract year. The Spurs asked about extending now or next summer and were told he wasn't going to, therefore there's more risk for the franchise and the player. If the player blows out his knee in calamity then his contract won't max out but if the franchise doesn't do a good job of convincing the player they're on the right path, then they could lose them...... I haven't read or heard anything where Rich Paul was killing a partnership between Murray and the Spurs, just playing the hand he had. Frankly, if I'm in his spot with Murray, I don't advise him to sign an extension next year either unless major injury, suspension looming, or a huge drop off in play.
  18. He's French, thank you very much. The Spurs are the pure cautionary example of not knowing oneself and not having a plan. You're either building or your sinking. I think the shock of Kawhi hit them so hard they couldn't figure anything out and it took them 3 years to get their shit together, which is a rebuild. It's a shame because they burned 3 years of capital with the fans, but they just couldn't admit the run was over...... They need a superstar draft pick and it's easier from the top 5. Not guaranteed but easier. Maybe they'll finally tank correctly.
