  1. By player, it's probably a wash or actually improvement. Levert's just a dude and Curry probably means more to the Nets as currently constructed. Allen's a loss but Drummond is an pretty decent big. I'd much rather have Allen who doesn't need the ball to impact the game but he's also making 20m vs 2m. However, it's all the picks and pick swaps they gave up which doesn't allow them to acquire other pieces. This is a great example of teams not telling their foundational star, no. KD wanted Harden and as fantastic as Harden is on the offensive end, he requires a narrow system of ISO ball to really be an offensive God. Philly now inherits this issue. If you don't or won't play in a more free flowing and movement based system for KD because you want to dribble the ball for 15 seconds then what the fuck is Embiid going to do with him? No idea and maybe Doc can scheme better and get more buy in from James than Nash did. I'm sure the Kyrie side show didn't help, but I'll say this..... understanding sunk cost, the Nets did okay with unloading him. They probably are a better team if Covid wasn't a concern..... alas, it is.
  2. Yikes. Getting Walton or Sam Bowie concerns.
  3. Jerrah paying off the cheerleaders and then trying to bury is so on brand, considering he probably wouldn't survive in the #metoo era if he was in his lecherous prime. Now that it's out, Dalrymple will probably be given his golden parachute and enjoy a soft landing retirement and this will leave the media cycle without any systemic change. Maybe he's guilty, maybe he's not, but the taking upskirt photos of Jerrah's adult daughter is very weird to just shrug off. And it's shit like this is why the owners haven't forced Danny S to sell. They're all scared they have this issue or have already had it. Maybe we get lucky and Jerrah can't bear the strain....
  4. Nothing. Take the ass pounding and shine their asterisk’d bubble trophy. They’re fucked next year too. Russ was a Hail Mary. It failed. I’d probably sell him on moving to the bench. If he won’t go then, oh well. They could stretch him in the offseason but even that won’t help much with their cap. They actually should think about blowing it up in the offseason but won’t.
  5. Harden also was injured some this season. Statistically it’s his worst season since he broke out at 22. If he can’t jump into people and create fouls and can’t dominate the ball, then it will be interesting to see how good he can be. He’s still very good offensively but can he push into elite status in his new environment? 🤷🏽‍♂️
  6. Harris' money really makes it difficult to insert him in the trade unless Brooklyn gives Harris back...... so they may be pivoting.
  7. He's outstanding and has been since about year 2-3 of his HC career. Been underrated because the Heatles only won 2, but really that's because Dirk pushed in Lebron's shit and Lebron no showed in year 1. By year 4, they just were facing a better and hungrier team and Wade's knees were done. Not sure if the Nets will feel this way, but Harden, with the new rules, and his new body isn't quite what he used to be...... He's still an insane offensive force at times, but the consistency is gone. Amazing what happens when you can't literally jump into defenders and get 2 FT's.
  8. Wiz gonna give him a quarter of a billion dollars?
  9. Fox has declined as a player the last 3 years. He's a quagmire at this point. Looking at the contracts and realizing that 29m AAV for Randle is too much..... Fox at 34m AAV over the next 4 years is ludicrous unless he becomes way, way better. I'll take the latter.
  10. Not sure who this dude is. Doesn't look like he breaks a lot of stuff, but if this was true, it would probably take a third team or the Nets would have to trade Joe Harris, which maybe they're fine with. Sabonis is the best player in the deal, so they got that. Haliburton may be the best talent and have higher upside..... time will tell. I like Haliburton, but the Pacers have a lot of back court pieces, but maybe this is the best deal they could find and they obviously wanted and needed to break up Turner and Sabonis. Otherwise, the other pieces are just moving around furniture. Haliburton is super cheap though..... that's a big piece. Both of these franchises have been flailing for awhile, so there's a likelihood that nothing impactful happens other than being able to compare the two young stars over time.
  11. Watched over the last 3 nights. I really enjoyed it. No, it's not going to win any Oscars (Emmys actually, dummy!), but the original work doesn't really lend itself to that type of reaction. It was fun, kept your attention and you were invested. The acting was pretty solid and any time you can see Bruce McGill with a southern draw (My Cousin Vinny), it's a treat. So Reacher is an actor named Alan Ritchson and from previous work, it's easy to take him lightly. But he seems like a super cool dude and has a good head on his shoulders after going to a dark place and realizing he's bi-polar. Listened to this podcast while working out today. It was pretty good, but long. Talks about his challenge of mental health and the entire project, from casting to shooting. He literally suffered a lot so they could make their production deadlines. Good voice (if you make it to the end) too.
  12. Haliburton is in 2nd year of his deal and I like him but the Pacers still too many guards and now they have less front court. Sabonis is the best player in the deal, but Pacers got cheaper. I get it, the tank is on and they save some money, but it's still a weird deal with Duarte there. I don't get either of these teams. Sacramento is consistently one of the worst managed teams in the league, so..... whatever. Feel bad for Sabonis..... although is Sacramento really worse than Indiana. I'll have to think. Both sound awful.
  13. I don't really follow these teams so I'm a bit perplexed..... Kings still have Bagley? LOL. Pacers gonna trade Brogdon? They just drafted Duarte, who looks like a solid player. This is a weirder trade for Indy IMO. I imagine it's salary dump of some sort.
  14. This season's FA class isn't deep in high end talent. Lillard looked cooked this season. What is the hook or sell for Portland? And they have to do it quickly too..... I would imagine re-signing Jurkic is a priority and he will get buzz from other teams.
  15. TPE from Steven Adams..... and now Portland has created a TPE.
  16. All quiet on the Tank front. Here's a couple of rumors. Doubt we move Jakob's ladder. Reportedly, Spurs asking for a 1st plus a good young player, probably like Precious. They need shooting too, so maybe a McDermott and add another first and we throw back a 2nd. This is crazy..... Thad can still be a 7/8 guy off the bench and help in a 15-20 minute capacity, imo. Not sure what we're doing, but we should be notifying all teams. Also..... Congrats to Dejounte.
  17. They finally, after 3 years of purgatory, got serious about rebuilding..... hence going young and effectively tanking. It was 3 years too late and they fucked up everything along the way including what to do with DeMar, but here they are. The issue is without Tim Duncan making the sun shine on everyone, the Spurs are finding how difficult it is to hit on mid-first round or late lottery picks. The need a top 5 pick and probably top 3 to pair with Murray, who himself, is probably only a 3rd guy on a real contender. Half the league or more are always looking for that foundational star, the Spurs are no different right now. But yes, they were mismanaged since Kawhi left and TD retired, many of us have been very critical of them.
  18. Just for shits and giggles, what would this deal look like? What could the Cavs offer for Murray and if you fucking mention Sexton as any type of lynchpin to the deal, you should get kicked out of this thread for being a moron. Or maybe they should be looking at Derrick White.
  19. Eh, I have issues with this thought process, reads like it comes right from Jerrah. Place the blame on the players because..... they're entitled from becoming a Cowboy? In what way? Since 2010, we have the 8th best winning percentage in the NFL but we have the least amount of playoff berths in the top 12 and the least amount of wins in the top half of the leagues winningest teams with 2. Why? Players come and go and the leadership structure of the team from a player perspective has turned over, this isn't a Aaron Rodgers or Roethlisberger paradigm. If it's a culture issue as stated on the podcast then it's one of our own making and that circles back...... to the executive staff and ownership of the organization. Entitlement culture is typically instilled top-down. Also, we've only hired mediocre to poor coaches and where does coaching capabilities typically make the biggest impacts? In December and the playoffs. Get better executives who can assess and hire better coaches. It's that easy.... and that hard.
  20. Spurs have a lot of issues..... the last 35ish games are so important for the youngsters. Frankly, I think these are the last 35 games of the Lonnie Walker era. He has wonderful tools, but it hasn't clicked as a basketball player. He does nothing well. Vassell is a tad better this year than last and he's still a baby at 21, but he needs to really pick up and show out some game this last half. Going into his 3rd year as a question mark would be a real concern. Keldon has sort of hit a wall, he excited us probably playing over his head in 17 games his rookie year, but since then he's settled in as a solid role player but that's it. Never say never, but there's been no evidence he can be a top 3 player on a contending squad, just a nice hustle player. Murray looks better and is exhibiting some leadership which is great to see. Derrick is up and down but a decent player. Our two bigs are nice 20 minute player and developmental 20 minute player. But there just isn't a star level player other than Murray and he's probably just starish on a bad squad. They've had 3 top 18 picks the last 5 years and early returns are....... minimal, and that's me being nice. Tanking? Probably good because the Spurs are showing they're really no different than any other front office when it comes to drafting..... they'll have as many misses as hits. Primo went 1-13 tonight..... Lonnie was 2-10. Shooters gotta shoot I guess.
