  1. Ding, ding, ding. The last young innovative coach Jerrah became infatuated with was The Clapper. Moore is here because of Linehan and Scott’s advocacy for him as a backup QB and then QB coach after Wade Wilson retired, probably to seek revenge for torture.
  2. Both coached HOF QBs, had good front office help, and have pretty interesting playoff records. Payton has 1 non-home win in the playoffs and lost quite a bit at home after a 5-0 start to his career. I think Payton is an improvement over Fat boy, but that's because McCarthy is that bad, not that Payton is that good..... He's not bad, but feels like it would pretty much be paint by numbers and typically do what he does, win a playoff game 2 out of 3 years with an away loss in the conference or divisional rounds. That's better than a first round exit.
  3. He still has a lot of learning to do IMO, especially in how to manufacture more offense without deep drops. I would like them to upgrade on Philbin, who I think was shitty and proven to be mediocre at best throughout his career.
  4. Yes. Pivoting to another dirty player...... COVID is nice because it exposes the uneducated, the ignorant, and the truly insane....
  5. Sean Payton would most likely require personnel or final roster control if he goes somewhere else, he won't get that as long as Jerrah is alive.
  6. Holy shit..... 2028. LOL! Whatever. Ha. Forbes is gone where he'll probably hit 100 more 3 pointers playing off of Joker and Primo can get some minutes and develop.
  7. Rumor is we're getting a 2nd rounder back as well, but it's just a rumor thus far. We take some money off the Celtics books this year but Juancho's salary next year is reportedly non-guaranteed. If we get the 2nd rounder, then okay. Never know, may hit on a rosterable or rotation play in time. If we just get the cost savings next year... meh.
  8. Fuck. He truly did have a magic voice for sports broadcasting. A legend. RIP.
  9. It's more like 900k. I'm going to guess you're looking at the overthecap.com and they for some reason have it wrong. He signed a 4 year deal, 3.6m dollar rookie deal. Those are pretty boiler plate contracts.
  10. He's a moron but he still has talent. And we don't have to rebuild the DL, but we definitely have to get more stout up the middle (we have for nearly a decade) and a mean sob, 1 tech would be extremely helpful as would another good LB who is nasty in the run game. LVE isn't consistent enough. OL needs a LT badly. I liked Slater last year and he's been great, but nobody is going to complain about he Parsons pick. I'd still look to taking a LT if the value is there in the first two rounds. Can get a cheap blocking TE in free agency probably.
  11. The only guys who would be really bad losses would be Gregory and Dorance. The other dudes are jags. If we lose Quinn, I'd functionally trade with Denver and go hard after Fangio.
  12. To get a stadium built.... Basically, for money. We need to get real about the OL too. Yea, Martin is very good but every other spot is just okay, Tyron is good when healthy, but that seems like only 5-6 games now. Connor probably played his way out of town, Collins was a mess all year from his idiocy and Biadaz, while improving, is still a middle of the road center. Understanding the cap situation, we'll probably try to see if McGovern can replace Connor with a whole offseason to work. I know Farniok played well in limited time so he'll continue to develop, but LT is the big deal. May have to look there in the first or 2nd rounds. A big reason we lost is because we got pushed around. We're soft and we play in a soft division. Got get nastier and more physical. Even Zack got pushed around. He also allowed a sack and had what, 2 penalties? Here is what the defense has under contract so can sort of see what needs help. Here is the offense:
  13. One more year under contract. It's why I want to find another RB. You may turn over the backfield completely in 2023.
  14. So this is going to come up 100 times from the the uninformed or those who don't understand the salary cap, but there is an extremely high probability Zeke is coming back next season. There is too much dead money involved and there really isn't any cap advantage to cutting him, so let's dispense with the fan fantasy. If the improbable happens, then we can throw a party. Regardless of how you feel, he gutted out the last 10 games on one leg and for that he has my respect. He looked good earlier in the season before the knee injury but I think he's in Tyron territory -- you just can't trust him anymore. If he's here, I'd still like to draft another RB on Day 3 and/or scour FA like a mofo to find a good, competent and better 3rd RB. I'd also like to involve Pollard on more 1/2nd downs provided he can handle the wear and tear (something I have doubts on). Zeke is still a great blocker, but his lateral quickness and top end speed are shit. The extension was one of the biggest mistakes of the last 10 years (and there have been a lot), but he's here so try and put him and the overall positional group in the best position to succeed and IMO, this means finding a better 3rd RB than Clement and having more of a true committee until 2023 when we can move on completely.
  15. This. It was an egregiously shitastic decision and call. What's the big difference between throwing from the 40 and 30 yard line anyway? You can't really run a functional play vs prevent that is going to shake someone open or even get a one on one situation, you're going to have to throw it up as some sort of Hail Mary from those distances anyway. Next, we actually had practiced this play way back when I used to play. We always had the TE, but it could be the WR be responsible for grabbing the ball and giving it to the official to spot instead of relying on fat, interior linemen who are blocking or the QB, who may end up in any number of positions. It was failure all around and consistent with a coaching staff who feels unprepared for big moments. There are no points being capitalized on for the Cowboys from tactical or strategic decision making during a game. They operate at a net negative and have for a long time. To what end? A Hail Mary from the 32 instead of the 41?
  16. Projected to be 12m over the salary cap, they can do some cap shenanigans to pretty easily get under, but this team still is soft where it counts, in the middle of the front 7 on the defense on every level and on the OL is overrated. Cowboys found something with Parsons, but they desperately need a 1 tech and another physical LB. Probably need 2 CBs and a safety, but how long we been saying that? https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/dallas-cowboys/ If he falls and where we're drafting, I vote for Jordan Davis, from Georgia, which means we'll draft a TE or kicker. It's simple..... we all enjoy rooting for the Cowboys, but they'll never win a championship with Skeletor at the helm. Maybe it's his time. We should all be so lucky.
  17. Probably not with all the injuries on defense today. Bosa probably can make it back but the ankle injury for their LB isn't going to let him be near 100% even if he plays.
  18. I have my doubts...... but ya know, at this point, I'd like to find out. Many will memorialize Jones when he dies.... I'll celebrate.
  19. And SF declined a couple...... lol.
