  1. I think it's a little late for that in our lifetimes. DOGE is popular because the American people have been conditioned to hate government for generations. There is no pro-government Progressive Era or New Deal grassroots movement right now. As long as the average American isn't the one being let go (and most people don't work for the government) then they're completely fine with nameless bureaucrats getting the axe. Hell, not just fine, they're all for it. "That's my money" Ukraine vs Russia? "That's my money" and we're not conditioned to understand complex international conflicts or the way that military procurement works. USAID? "That's my money" and we're not a nation that understands the long game (look at our collective retirement accounts) Immigration? "That's my money" + "They're different than me" Nativism is nothing new and scary foreigners is one of the classic hits in the American album Asking the most selfish people on earth to suddenly care about others with their wallet is just not going to happen, imo.
  2. Gonna be tough, have fun!
  3. Honestly would be great for Ukraine especially if we took Hungry with us.
  4. My favorite of the stupid pandering 🎵DQ, that's what I like about Texas 🎵
  5. Well they don't actually care about him. They want to use him so that's fine. "We freed the wonderful police office, but that state of Minnesota is now doing a misjustice!"
  6. I chose to end your post right here
  7. While we're here we should discuss the poor decorum that Zelenskyy has when addressing world leaders.
  8. The audiobook is fantastic because he's the narrator (for those that don't know he narrated Ken Burns' Civil War and Baseball).
  9. They don't have a single SeaWorld in the whole state of Nevada. I hope you're prepared to go without.
  10. Lots of "I want to rollover this IRA that has all of my retirement savings in it ($34,000) at 56 and pay the early w/d penalty to live on it and the wife's salary until I can get SSA" vibes in that group.
  11. For anyone looking for some light reading might I recommend, It'll change your thinking on Texas history by looking at it from a social/labor (bottom-up) history position instead of the traditional top-down historiographical approach.
  12. Aint no way I'm selling shit #TeamNeverSell
  13. Books and French Canadians? I'd visit now if you want to go.
  14. MAGA's inability or unwillingness to understand the impacts of soft power never ceases to amaze me. I can understand, though not agree with, isolationist principles, but the "it does nothing for us!" argument is simply nonsense.
  15. It took me way too long to figure out what a gramer was in your post. "Did she misspell gamer?" "Is that some sort of trans term?" "Oh wait, yeah those annoying videos your wife sends you"
  16. Love watching the market go down to own the *checks notes* Canadians, Mexicans, and ourselves. Markets go down, but knowingly hurting them to benefit nobody is quite the play.
  17. I may be wrong but I thought he was exactly the right....build...for farm labor.
  18. We tried, but none of the locals had even heard of Taco Casa, much less directions on how to get to it.
  19. Sud 777 is good and the atmosphere is fantastic. Though, I would only choose it over Pujol if Pujol is full.
  20. The only thing I could think of was that asshole from out of state that Hank had to impress for work
  21. Once. Didn't go great the 2nd time.
  22. Frustrating game for sure when there was a point right there for the taking.
