  1. If anyone is there on a Sunday, then I definitely recommend Basílica de Santa María de Guadalupe during church hours. It's a completely different experience than anything I've ever seen religiously. Also Mercado San Juan (the Centro one) > Mercado Roma
  2. Sichuan Garden Or Sichuan House Either one works
  3. Oh man an elk burger from a Penelope's Old Time Burgers in Estes Park after a day of hiking RMNP sounds amazing right about now.
  4. The one that gets me is that Toronto is south of Monaco.
  5. @slorch, how the hell did y'all lose a series to us? We're as bad as it gets in power conference baseball.
  6. Mine did too until I stupidly tried to mess with the dewberry with them and got a shit ton of thorns in my fingers. New gloves were purchased that very day.
  7. I had no idea @ztejas was a plant for the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.
  8. I'll be happy with a GD of -3 in that group.
  9. I made the mistake of buying Mt Olive jalapenos one time and I'm pretty sure they're still in the fridge almost full all these years later.
  10. My mom's hometown and you haven't lived until you're an 11-year-old sitting on the pier fishing in 39-degree weather because you're heading back to CenTex once Christmas break is over. Yeah it might be cold right now but that Alamo Bowl between Northwestern and Nebraska is on the television tonight and we're going to warm up some tamales from last week and fry some shrimp for the game because who knows Northwestern might stun the world and there sure as hell isn't anything else to do unless you want to drive to Port Lavaca and their two-screen theater (the ate her). Quarter of a century later and the only family left there is buried, and lord knows when the next time I'll get to visit will be.
  11. Yup Also Haiti was a pariah state for a long time because they were blacks that rebelled against their colonial masters, and it hurt more than just the feelings of the French.
  12. Really? I would have thought that the big boys in the parochial scene would be considered much more rigorous than the various FREEDOM!!! religious schools.
  13. Aren't most parochial schools generally considered leaps and bounds better than "Christ-based religious schools" both academically and reputationally? I worked with a Jewish guy from Philadelphia who knew every book of the Bible ten times better than my Baylor Alum ass from his time at a parochial school. He joked that most of the Jews in Philadelphia went to these schools and came out better Catholics than the Catholics that went to public school.
  14. I would have taken a point coming in, but this team even makes that result feel like absolute shit.
  15. 7:30 so the odor will have started by then.
  16. I enjoy knowing that morons are out there losing money thinking that they know more about sports than the Vegas sharps and the juice combined.
  17. Am I financially and physically better off than 3 years ago? Sure, but comedically think of all the weird ass shit we missed out on by not having Trump as president over these last 3 years. We probably missed out on some weird ass shit where Trump tried to give the Taliban Costa Rica in exchange for a Trump Tower in Kabul.
  18. Museum of Vancouver is old but tells a great story especially about Asian Canadians of all types. Granville Island is fun if not a bit too touristy. University of British Columbia has a neat anthropology museum and is also a nice campus to visit to compare with US colleges. Yaletown is great for eating.
  19. This is why I love San Antonio. We were hungry after taking the niece to SeaWorld this weekend and google led us to El Taquila on Marbach as having good reviews and being relatively close by. We stop in and doesn't look like anything special, but we had a fantastic meal and they had Indio beer which is not findable in Austin and I usually only drink in Mexico. I'd 100% move down if the job market fit our needs.
  20. I've spent 5-10% of my life in Palacios and I'm not surprised.
  21. Yeah, but everything slams after an extended outdoors trip. I remember eating at Storms in Lampasas after a few days of hiking and I could have sworn it was the best burger on the whole planet that day.
  22. You went from hanging out in BA to this. We need to get you on a plane.
