  1. I love this terrible terrible game. I need that FBS Magnolia League (or whatever) Give me all the shit games between Duke, Northwestern, Vandy, Wake, Tulane, BC, and Rice that you have. Hell throw in the service academies too.

    High

Pineapple D9 drink mix instead of simple syrup in an Old Fashioned is not a good idea, but it worked.

  8. "My god, where did he even get this much corn?!?"
  9. I don't know, you could probably have some real fun with it but don't expect the check to arrive in the mail.
  10. Man I didn't even know that subway stops had colleges in them.
  11. I don't know what the answer is for eating in OKC, but I do know that it isn't Barrios Fine Mexican Dishes. The rice was so undercooked that it was crunchy and the waiter and the manager training the waiter both had no idea what an agua fresca was when my wife asked if they had any. The First Americans Museum was cool though.
  12. Still up, which is unsurprising, but I'm surprised it have 0 "stars" with that kind of implication.
  13. At first I thought, "sweet I know Bosnian" then reread your post.
  14. Loved it too.
  15. @RDCanecutter How has it been going?
  16. There should be an uprising on that alone. How man Salamarca de Navidad movies can an already depressed nation take? Also I saw this article over the weekend and thought it was a good/sad read. The Venezuelan City Devastated By Migration - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
  17. I'm having some trouble on how much I should keep in my HYSA. I'm putting away around $1000 a month into it, but having >$20k in a savings account at 35 seems like a waste of potential. I was thinking about just letting it sit at $20k and moving that $1000/month over to the market (401K and Roth are maxed out so no go there). Is that considered enough, or is there a consensus where it should be a year's salary or something? We just bought our house in 2021 at 3.5% so no rush to pay that off, no kids, wife works, so I'm having a hard time thinking of reasons to keep that savings growing.
  18. Well it was a school shooting so...
  19. That's probably for the best. College fund is doing great. Let's keep it going.
  20. Salsa is one of those things that I just make, it takes 15 minutes, it keeps well, and tomatillos are cheap as shit.
  21. It was worse than normal because it was also the 3rd which is when many Social Security checks come in + off of a Monday holiday. I don't blame most Surlyites for forgetting about the MAGA base. I forget about them over the weekend too when I deal with my normal social circle. Then when the doors open on any Monday morning, they come shuffling in and I'm reminded just how helpless they really are when it comes to something simple like banking. They lack many of the easiest skills that we take for granted, just last week I had one of them come in and try to cash a check that was made payable to the RNC. She showed me the mailer that she received, and it was a letter saying that they were going to match any donation that she made to the Trump campaign and the "check" was really just a prop. Her response was pretty amazing. "I already gave to him last month. Why would he be asking for more? I think he's just giving me money back for supporting him because he takes care of his supporters." There are millions of people walking around like that, but they aren't the entirety of his base of course. You'd be surprised at the number of people that seem perfectly normal that have recurring payments to the Heritage Foundation coming out of their account every month.
