  1. More like a way to not invite my wife's 10,000 cousins without upsetting anyone
  2. We got married in a national park and found a couple of hikers to sign as witnesses in the parking lot. Free
  3. Thinking more about this thread and my favorite Spanish music might just be a random Norteno band getting out of a van somewhere in Texas right now about to play a quince in front of 300 people with a shit ton of chile rojo and Modelo.
  4. God I'm ready for Copa America
  5. In newer music, taking the state by storm from the Valley is Grupo Frontero. Anyone that follows Spanish language music will know them by now, but our tickets to see them at AT&T Center in August were >$200 for upper level seats.
  6. Probably the best music video of all time Will be seeing them in August.
  7. Boo, but I was entertained
  8. I love how we've begun to influence soccer as a proper soccer nation. If you noticed in the last 3 minutes England has switched to the GGG (and Austin FC) tactic of lazily passing the ball back to the keeper.
  9. I wish Tyrone Mings was healthy
  10. Short of a match vs Mexico, I almost always cheer against England but fuck Serbia.
  11. No worries, we're just the 2024 version of these dudes sitting around pondering the bigger universe and our place in it.
  12. Oh well then we should absolutely legislate the lives of others based upon our own personal religious beliefs because "Luke" was trying to get things right.
  13. This is a fanbase that is confident to be led by a meatball. UTV!!!
  14. See but the ambiguity is good for testing your faith or something like that.
  15. They've upgraded to it being a potluck once a week as the obligation, which is better than your weekly Krispy Kreme or Shipley. Also I'm sure small group is probably shorter than sunday school + sermon, but you do lose the smug feeling at McAllister's/Luby's/Picadilly afterwards when you see people not in church clothes.
  16. 100% but as a % of the overall population they are dropping as religious pluralism continues to grow in the US, which is annoying as it feels that they have more power than they've had in decades.
  17. Their church has the gall to allow a couple as co-preachers. They'll probably end up in hell with a woman preaching to them every Sunday. I did notice that when I was being raised, we were strictly a Sunday School and Sunday morning service family and that was it as far as our church lives. Now they're much more about small group meetings and skip out on Sundays. Maybe they're swingers for Jesus now or something? I try not to think about it.
  18. Anecdotal, but my parents fall into the former SBC now non-denom camp and they didn't really move for any particular theological or political reason but rather they're in their 60s and all the people at the FBC are in their 80s and their friends go to/run non-denom pop ups now so they do too. There is no real difference outside of the structure of the SBC church missing, ironically.
  19. Where my doubt really got started in REL 1310 my first semester when we got to the whole, "Well this gospel was probably first written down x hundred years after tradition states and wasn't written by this person but rather this person based upon this evidence" and all sorts of other things that were never taught in sunday school at the local FBC growing up. I wasn't really a religious person and only went to church because my parents made us go, so I was the perfect one for doubt in the text to grow with historical evidence.
  20. It has been falling for 20 years.
  21. Yeah but Uruguay shouldn't count. They're 1/72 the pop of Brazil and they can play with them pretty regularly. Similar to how Iceland with 1/220 the population of the UK is able to beat England and other cool stuff like that.
