  1. We're trying to keep the power on in Gaza...
  2. Yet the obliviousness of "oh I would retire now but you know how expensive it is to buy health insurance" working until you die to own the libs.
  3. Yup it's completely social now for people like my parents who are college educated and would formerly be known as country club Republicans. They refuse to talk politics with their kids and in-laws and just break out with the "both sides are crazy" talk whenever we bring something up. They could never support the Democratic Party as lifelong WASP Texans in their 60s even if they sympathize with things like Gay rights and hate book banning. It's just not even in the realm of possibility for them no matter how shitty Trump and the rest are or what horribleness they bring to the country because it's not what they do.
  4. The University of Texas at Austin is a mouthfull. Just cut that down and tell people you went to UTA. I'm sure that'll go great in interviews.
  5. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2023/10/11/world/israel-news-hamas-war/39d430e0-ff30-5bdb-9537-dcd5e1ad1d00?smid=url-share
  6. Everyone does and I can't remember this much preseason hype. It's a bit concerning, we're supposed to be 13th in the preseason power rankings every year, not top 4.
  7. As someone that attended Baylor, this checks out.
  8. Amazing to me that Hezbollah sees what is going on in Gaza and says "Yeah, we want some of that!" They must have some mighty strong guarantees from Iran in order to do that.
  9. Hey Central champs isn't too bad, but I think they'll be better this year. I think I'm going to try to make the Tucson game on Saturday. I'll con the wife into it by including a shopping stop for her. Edit: Tickets purchased on Row B, Let's Go (baby) Stars!
  10. Wouldn't you just have to assume they are already dead?
  11. Nat Turner is not beloved in the South today, but I'm sure that feeling of animosity is dying as the generations pass.
  12. Black lung begs to differ
  13. I'm sure in 5 to 10 years everyone in Austin will have dog toilets and dog bidets. It'll just work out naturally.
  14. In the opposite direction of a conversation pit. I'd like to see more enclosed Mexican style courtyards in the US with a big ass gate instead of a front yard. That way I never have to see my neighbors again but can still sit outside.
  15. Am I the only one thinking "that dude was probably born around 1920 so he's dead....she's probably dead...he's definitely dead"
  16. Revival was really good with probably the scariest ending I've ever read from him. I recently read Misery and Salem's Lot both were fantastic.
  17. Pretty good lineup for Cedar Park to use too. They should have a good year.
  18. Pretty big explosions every 20 min or so in Gaza
  19. I love that book. I keep it downloaded on Audible on my phone for those nights when I want to drift off to something
  20. Texas State did this year so everyone else should. We are bad.
  21. Lol this rules expert is just some dude on a couch in Plano.
  22. Maybe but I doubt this really does much for them. It'll put Isreal more likely to fuck up anything Iran related and keep Americans interested in foreign affairs.
