We like that area between Boulder and Denver a ton with a buddy living in Broomfield. Hell with our budget we might as well just buy something in Pueblo, the Waco of Colorado.

@CooterBrown hooked me up and of course it'll come down to a complete change of lifestyle for us. We have a 3-year-old house here in Texas and our affordability in the Denver area looks like apartment life or buying somewhere far out like by the airport. I've always been in the "fuck that I'm going to help change Texas" person but as I age that becomes less and less realistic and summer is just annoying. We have friends in the Denver area already and visit it often, but making the leap is the hardest part.

Anyone made the jump to CO as a Texas teacher? Wife wants out but she's an elementary school bilingual teacher and doesn't know the testing or credentialing system up there.
-
Yeah, but that doesn't mean all things are equal between the schools. Undergrads are more likely to give to their schools than grad students so when you compare that number you see that Baylor has 15,000 undergrads, TCU has 10,500, and SMU with 6,800 aren't all that similar to each other. Per student, SMU blows BU and TCU out of the water with giving. You also have to focus on who is going to these schools too and while they do compete with each other for rich white Texans, SMU does not have the same football watching student base that you usually see at BU and TCU with so many of their students being from out of state. As a CFB fan though I'd be excited to see SMU bankroll themselves into the ACC and hopefully form a great three rivalry with BU, TCU, and SMU in the future.

Fuck no. I love watching this on twitch, but can't imagine dying at lvl 41 after just grinding for a mount for weeks.

hmmm Latin American beach country that specializes in steak or -30 degree Siberia that warms up to biting flies in the summer....decisions, decisions.

Yall get that rain bullshit out of your systems? Some of us still haven't seen a drop in months.

It's time for the annual thread again about Week 0 & Week 1 on TV as college football is on tv one week from tomorrow! As always I'll just highlight what I'm watching in each time slot and you have the link to the full list. I only include FBS vs FBS and leave out the FCS games unless something jumps out at me. Like most seasons, week 0 is just enough of a taste to get you ready for the good stuff on week 1 Here are your TV links: 2023 Football TV Schedule By Week (mattsarzsports.com) College Football TV Schedule (lsufootball.net) Week 0 Saturday August 26 (Times Central): 1:30 NBC Navy vs Notre Dame (-20.5) (Dublin, Ireland) - First game of the year and probably the "best" of the day --------------------------------------------- 4:30 CBSSN Jacksonville State vs UTEP (+1.5) - Probably time to get your shopping done or hang out with the family, but first year in the FBS for JSU and UTEP was surprisingly decent last year. ---------------------------------------------- 6:00 FS1 Ohio at San Diego State (-3) - Traditionally two decent teams in their conferences, might be worth checking out 6:00 ESPN UMass at New Mexico State (-7.5) - Low key might watch this one on a secondary screen as I want to see how Kill has the Aggies going this year, especially with their fun QB 6:30 SECN Hawaii at Vanderbilt (-18.5) - Well at least it should be interesting to see it played at a HS stadium with Hawaii throwing it 1000 times 7:00 PACN San Jose State at USC (-30) - Not worth finding a pirate stream to me 8:00 CBSSN FIU at Louisiana Tech (-10.5) - Something to have on the tv if you're home and the other games are over. Week 1: Thursday August 31: 6:00 FS1 Kent State at UCF (N/A) - First game as a Big12 member for UCF and I’ll probably keep this on a secondary screen 6:30 CBSSN NC State @ UConn (+15.5)- should be a snoozer 7:00 ESPN Florida at Utah (-7) - Finally the first P5 vs P5 matchup of the year and it might be a defensive struggle with the QB situation for both teams 7:00 Fox Nebraska @ Minnesota (-7) - Another good one with Matt Rhule’s first game at NU Friday September 1: 6:00 FS1 Central Michigan at Michigan State (-14.5) - Meh 6:00 ACCN Miami (Ohio) at Miami (-17.5) - At least the names are funny 6:30 ESPN Louisville at Georgia Tech (+7.5) - Conference game here and Brohm’s first at Louisville should be fun —----------------------------------------- 10:00 CBSSN Stanford at Hawaii (+7.5) - Well it’s college football on tv and might be a good game according to the odds Saturday September 2: 11AM ESPN Arkansas State at Oklahoma (N/A) - Nah, unless ASU is keeping it close 11AM SECN Ball State at Kentucky (N/A) - Same as the OU game 11AM CBSSN Bowling Green at Liberty (-11.5) - Fuck Liberty 11AM FOX Colorado @ TCU (-21) - One of the games I’m looking forward too the most of the weekend from a pure entertainment standpoint. O/U on number of bench clearing brawls set to 1.5 11AM Peacock East Carolina at Michigan (-34.5) - Not worth opening a separate app 11AM BTN Fresno State at Purdue (-5.5) - Might be worth keeping an eye on with Purdue bringing in a new staff and Fresno was pretty good last year 11AM ESPNU LaTech at SMU (-17) - Maybe if it was on week 0 11AM ACCN Northern Illinois at Boston College (-9.5) - Only if the upset pops 11AM ABC Tennessee vs Virginia (+27.5) - Man Virginia is supposed to be terrible 11AM FS1 Utah State at Iowa (N/A) - Maybe if Iowa craps the bed 1PM ESPN + Northern Iowa at Iowa State (N/A) - This is one of those games that ISU either loses or wins by 3 and ISU is going to enter this game with who knows how many players out for gambling —--------------------------------------------- 2:30 ABC Boise State at Washington (-15.5) - Boise State usually plays well in these big games early in the year so it might be a good one 2:30 FS1 Buffalo at Wisconsin (-24.5) - Snooze, but first game with the Wisconsin staff 2:30 CBS Ohio State at Indiana (+28.5) - I guess if there is some unimaginable upset also here is that B1G on CBS game 2:30 Fox Rice at Texas (-35.5) - Rice never plays ya’ll well so nope 2:30 CBSSN USF at Western Kentucky (-13.5) - Damn USF almost a 2 TD dog to WKU 2:30 ESPN UMass at Auburn (-38.5) - You know it’s week 1 when ESPN has a nearly 40 point spread on the main station at 2:30 3:00 ESPNU Cal at North Texas (+7.5) - If UNT makes Cal’s summer even worse then I’ll tune in —------------------------------------------------ 5:30 PACN Nevada at USC (-37.5) - Again not worth finding a pirate stream 6:00 ESPN New Mexico at Texas A&M (-38.5) - Another 40 point boring matchup on the main ESPN channel 6:00 ESPN+ Texas State at Baylor (-26.5) - Well wouldn’t be my pick as a 3rd party but you only get 12-13 times to watch your team a year 6:00 FS1 UTSA at Houston (N/A) - Low key this should be a really fun game and I wish it was on at 2:30 6:00 CBSSN Washington State at Colorado State (+12.5) - Maybe if there is an upset 6:30 SECN Middle Tennessee at Alabama (-39.5) - Nope 6:30 ABC UNC vs South Carolina (Charlotte) (+2.5) - Maye vs Rattler is a really fun one 6:30 CBS Texas Tech at Wyoming (+14.5) - Odd choice for CBS and it would be great to see Wyoming win 6:30 BTN Toledo at Illinois (-9.5) - Toledo is sneaky good 6:30 NBC West Virginia at Penn State (-20.5) - This would’ve been great if WVU wasn’t expected to be trash this year 7:00 ACCN Old Dominion at VaTech (-14) - ODU needs to beat VaTech…again 7:00 ESPNU South Alabama at Tulane (-7.5) - Nope, but Tulane is a fun team to watch and USA is expected to be a good SunBelt team this year just a bad time slot for them —------------------------------------------- 9:15 FS1 Sam Houston at BYU (N/A) - Technically SHSU is FBS now but that’s a tough environment to travel to for their first FBS game, but sneaky upset potential here 9:30 ESPN Coastal Carolina at UCLA (-15.5) - Really bad choices here at the after dark time slot especially with CCU losing their HC to…Liberty Sunday September 3: 11:00 CBS Northwestern at Rutgers (-6.5) - Low key excited to see how bad this game is in a classic B1G struggle —-------------------------- 2:30 CBS Oregon State at San Jose State (+16.5) - At least you don’t have to change the channel —-------------------------- 6:30 ABC Florida State vs LSU (Orlando) (-2.5) - Only top 25 matchup of Week 0/Week 1 and it should be a good one Monday September 4: 7:00 ESPN Clemson at Duke (+12.5) - I would love to see the upset here but I think you take Clemson and the points. Overall, not a great Week 1 and a bad Week 0 but hell it’s college football and I’ll fire up the grill in 105 weather and put the beers on ice!

Waco/Temple/Killeen station is showing 101 for Tuesday.

Ah nothing says fall like the start of college football! This must be how people north of here feel when college baseball starts and there's snow on the ground.

Oh shit: New pillow guy lawsuit coming "in two weeks"

If you make a left up there is that where North Garden is or is that not the dive shop I'm thinking of at the end of the street? Also the 10 day is now officially bullshit. Hot on August 16th and 17th is fine, whatever but damn it next Friday the 25th is still showing fucking 105 when the average high has dropped to 95 by then. I'm not even asking for 95, just give me 100 or 99, come on...

Which of course just happens to be a way that the mouse can make some extra money, funny how that works. Also, I enjoy seeing the scooter people and observing their culture. 95% of the time they're miserable, hot, and complaining. When I was cast, you'd have a ton of them try to wheel onto the attractions themselves (I was at Innoventions where they were allowed in the building) which was hilarious watching the mental gymnastics there trying to work. On the DISboard drama, that place is always kinda funky with weird optimism that the hardcore fans shouldn't have in 2023. The pessimism of WDWMagic is much more Surly approved, but family friendly of course. i will say though that I do like perusing the DISboard trip report board But Why Is The Rum Gone?-A May 2022 Disney/Universal DTR- Completed 8/5 | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums - DISboards.com You know for the pics of....food.

Yeah, I'm a big playing on the couch while wife watches tv on weeknights kind of guy and already have a list of about 30 older games that I've never finished, so I'm pretty excited about that.

Just picked up a deck after passing during the sale. Oh well, hope it comes in pretty quickly. I also bought a 1TB SD and a dock (not Valve's) so it should be a good time soon.
