  1. Fair enough. I've heard a few Utah fans claim that other PAC schools supported their AAU candidacy in an attempt to "prove" their theory.
  2. Please don't join the Utah crackpots. Don't do it to yourself.
  3. I'm sure some Utah fans with zero understanding of academia think that, but they don't know what they're talking about. (For the record I'm a college prof who spent a combined seven years at Stanford and Cal). Utah has been working hard at doing everything right for AAU membership for decades. Their athletic conference had zilch to do with it.
  4. In the old PAC the conference took a full share, which might throw the math some.
  5. Legitimately better attendance that WSU and OSU many days. Atmosphere is fantastic (surprisingly loud stadium for 25k) and the tailgating is great as well. If you ever make it up for a game let me know.
  6. Griz. I'm a professor with UM. Game day here is as much fun as anywhere in college football.
  7. I live in Montana now. Best football weather there is.
  8. Who is Andrew Marchand? I'm not good with keeping track of all these people
  9. MHVer (I know, I know) says the meeting was cancelled because there was nothing to discuss (the TV offer was shit). Jason Scheer is calling Wilner's tweet "semantics" (as in, technically there was no meeting because it was a zoom call and Wilner is doing damage control). This is like a daytime soap opera.
  10. By Notre Dame Joe, apparently
  11. I think if anyone is willing to jump, it's Arizona. They just lost their conference ties to southern California, they're not getting a B1G invite, and they care more about basketball. The Big XII is perfect for them.
  12. I could see the SEC maaaaaybe being interested in Clemson and FSU, and maybe one school each from the states of North Carolina and Virginia. Beyond that, I don't think there's anything else, and any of those might be a stretch.
  13. When the Big XII already has BYU? I'm not so sure. Although owning the Holy War would be nice.
  14. I was being generous y'all
  15. I've been surprised how uppity Utah fans have seemed online. I'm not saying they have no chance at the B1G, but I'd wager they are, at minimum, about 4th or 5th on the B1G's wishlist (including ND and the PAC schools), and maybe as low as 7th (not even counting potential ACC targets).
  16. My only bad pot experience was at a small get together of friends. Kinda just lost track of how many hits I took, then hit a place where I was convinced I'd permanently disabled long term memory formation and would live the rest of my life on a five to ten second loop. Got high again the next day though.
  17. Many believe they'd be valuable to the B1G. Others actually think - now sit down for this - that down the road the SEC might be interested. I wish I were kidding.
  18. Not the full thing. I do somewhat kinda know someone who's been in them via a mutual friend. The summer meetings were not nearly as sensational as media would like them to be. My comment could be because I interpreted the tweeter differently than others, as though he expected something huge (like a conference change announcement) to come out of this next meeting. I'm just saying that's almost certainly not the case. But if I'm wrong, cool (I actually wish the PAC would survive, because I like regionality, but I'd mostly like to see this round of realignment end so we know where everyone is going to end up).
  19. For the likes
  20. Trust me, a CU grad and college professor, that having another meeting that they've had many of isn't all that terribly strange. It would be odd if they weren't discussing this right now. I interpreted the Tweeter as expecting something big to come of that meeting - it won't. The board can't even decide major moves within the confines of that meeting.
  21. To answer the Tweeter's question: no, not really. CU had about 8 such meetings last summer.
