  1. The cupcakes don't help the SEC, the 8 conference games with 14 teams so many of the top teams miss each other until the CCG is what really helps the SEC.
  2. "Too close" is the best answer. I was walking along a road between vantage points. I saw this one a hundred yards away, walking straight down said road. I started taking pics, just knowing that any second he would veer off into the brush. Except, he never did - he just kept waking, straight at me. Hard to describe my mind at the time; it was screaming to get out of the way but to also not move suddenly, that surely it's going to veer, etc. All in seconds and really my brain just froze. In the end, I was slowly backing up, and had gotten to the right shoulder of the road when the wolf got to the same section of road, straddling the dividing line. It stopped and looked at me for a few seconds, not even ten feet away, then walked off into the brush. Insane.
  3. Beautiful article, worth the read.
  4. Perfect post is perfect
  5. I lived in Cali for 6 years. It sucks. If it had 10% the population that it has, it would be absolutely amazing, but it doesn't, so it sucks. 3 hours to the mountains from the Bay? Sure, in theory, if you drive at 2am. But that drive has taken me 8-11 hours at times because of the fucking hordes of people. Way northern Cali - around Redding and further north - is livable, though there is the drug problem. The Trinity Alps are great. The eastern side of the Sierra is also nice, if you can find a career out there.
  6. Absolutely will do, and that sounds like the perfect evening. I plan on coming up there one of the next two summers.
  7. Fantastic spot. Denali is an incredibly beautiful, wild, and unforgiving world. The landscape is so different from anything south of Canada.
  8. Living the dream man. Whereabouts is your cabin?
  9. The R5 is great for wildlife; the AF tracking is superb. This is also my first mirrorless camera/ first time with an electronic viewfinder, and the fact that the EVF auto updates what you're seeing based on your current settings is awesome.
  10. 400mm f2.8 on full frame; I often use a 2X extender, too. I shoot with the Canon R5 and loooooooove it.
  11. Yep, Yellowstone. The little spotting scopes are definitely useful, but if you're around the park enough you can get closer. This was between 50-100 yards (only 50 because a river was between us and he trotted to the opposite bank for a bit).
  12. Disagree. Auto-bids for champs plus a couple at-large incentivizes BETTER scheduling. If you schedule a huge non-con matchup that you know will generate shitloads of money, you can rest assured it has no impact on your qualification for the conference auto-bid. On the other hand, if you end up not winning your conference, winning a big-time non-con game helps make your case for one of the at-large spots.
  13. This is the correct answer
  14. I haven't read through the last several pages; has anyone posted about the Aggy mega-variant? Because Aggy. https://www.jpost.com/health-science/research-finds-new-coronavirus-variant-potentially-resistant-to-antibodies-665836
  15. Ah, irony
