  1. Everyone knows racial discrimination trumps actual legislation. Add to that the fact that cops are basically a protected class held to an entirely different set of laws, and we can all agree Botham Jean wound have been spending the rest of his life in Huntsville State Penitentiary if he had actually killed the white female cop who intruded into his domicile.
  2. Court is in recess until tomorrow morning. Will go on Saturday as well for at least part of the day.
  3. They've got a 15 minute recess to prepare her waterworks before she takes the stand.
  4. Don't forget that in the time immediately following the deadly gun shots, she spent more time texting Sex Cop and repeatedly proclaiming her tiredness to the 911 operator instead of actually rendering the first aid she would be expected to do if she arrived at the scene of any other shooting. I don't think Botham Jean had to die that day if she had actually made attempts to stop the bleeding until further medical assistance could arrive.
  5. If you were paying attention earlier in the trial, they walked through a detailed timeline of the events. Guyger was on her phone with Sex Cop while driving home. She entered the parking garage a few minutes before another resident, Ronald so-and-so. However, Ronald parked and was gathering his work stuff and leaving his car when he noticed her speeding around the corner of the parking garage in her Ram pickup on the 4th level. This means that she must have pulled over or parked in a lower level before going to her eventual parking space. What was going on that required her to park on a lower level? Where did she stop and for what purpose? Did she have to pull over to diddle herself while chatting with Sex Cop? Is any of this relevant?
  6. They showed those videos. The tree thingy was there. There's also different distinctive floor mats on each floor, but if you didn't even recognize the bright red floormat that magically showed up outside of "your" door, I doubt you would recognize those other inconsistencies.
  7. My only issue is that the shooting occurred at roughly 9:50PM. There should not have been a lot of ambient light entering the apartment, even less so if the shades were drawn.
  8. Defense was emphasizing Jean being 13-15' from the doorway. I'd bet $1000 they're going to use the 21' rule of police engagement in their defense.
  9. Her keys were in the door. When you insert a non-coded key into that digital lock, it beeps and flashes red to show that the key has been denied. Even before she pushed open that unlatched door, you can add those indicators as another piece of evidence she was oblivious too before she pushed that door open and killed the lawfully residing occupant, in addition to the bright red door mat that she was necessarily standing on that was not hers.
  10. Holy shit. Her husband looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks. Though, I guess I’d be hard pressed to get a blink of sleep if I needed to share a bed with a warthog like that.
  11. Did you watch his testimony? Looked like he was trying to send messages by hard blinking in Morse Code.
  12. Anyone else find it curious that the State only uses their own black prosecutor to question any of the black civilian witnesses? I don't know what to make of it, other than that it is unusual.
  13. Some idiot's phone going off again. I hope the Judge eviscerates whoever it is who had their phone in the courtroom.
  14. I strenuously suggest that Rivera be referred to from now on as Officer Blinky McDickpic.
  15. IANAL but I'm assuming that all personal electronics are surrendered before trial and they don't have access to a phone at the hotel. Typically, they can only ready books/magazines or watch movies. No live TV, no newspapers, etc. I'm not even sure they can talk to family on a phone, and if they do, I suspect the call is audited and/or recorded to make sure they are not violating the terms of the sequestration.
  16. Yes, they are sequestered with no access to outside information or hearsay.
  17. Also, for anyone who was satisfied that the Texas Rangers were investigating HPD in the Pecan Park deadly raid, just think, this is one of the assholes that would be investigating police corruption. I bet his fucking bedding set has a Protect the Blue theme printed on them. The Us vs. Them mentality extends far beyond local police.
  18. I can't believe this ranger believes it is proper procedure to engage a suspected burglar when there is no risk for physical injury (i.e. - If she believed that that was her apartment, then no one would have been home at the time of entry of a supposed burglar, so there was no one in physical danger that would necessitate a immediate intervention from a single police officer on site). Judge will not allow that testimony in front of a jury. Hallelujer!
  19. At least the jury didn't hear this. I hope the judge excludes this testimony.
  20. I hope that fucker is shot to death in his own home by a fucking cop serving a no-knock warrant on the wrong address. Fuck him with a red hot poker.
  21. Per one of the responding officers that rendered aid, there were also earbuds found next to his person on the floor. It's likely he was wearing them, listening to something on his computer while the TV was showing the football game behind it. He may not have had a chance to respond to her commands, if she made any at all before lighting his ass up.
