  1. TSA is not a drug enforcement agency. Their goal is to make sure air travel is safe from terrorism, not to harsh your mellow.
  2. We got this from our wedding registry. Use it every morning. https://smile.amazon.com/Capresso-560-01-Infinity-Conical-Black/dp/B0000AR7SY/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=burr+grinder&qid=1556205221&s=gateway&sr=8-7
  3. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Grieving-family-members-tour-Pecan-Park-home-as-13773103.php There's a video walk through of part of the home at the link. Looks like HPD did a proper job tossing the home to make sure an unbiased forensic investigation would be damn near impossible. I'd expect nothing less though from this corrupt agency.
  4. There was a long bit on NPR yesterday about the IRS's inability to actively pursue tax cheats, especially wealthy ones with the means to battle them with legal representation. Basically, their budgets have been dropping year over year and a lot of their agents have been retiring with no new hires to fill their place. As such, most of their audits have been targeting the poor who are suspected of abusing the EITC to receive larger tax "refunds" than they are entitled too. Lots of rural counties across the south, down along the RGV, and Native American reservations. https://www.marketplace.org/2019/04/15/economy/study-where-irs-audits-more-and-less Long story short, they don't have the skilled labor necessary to do the more arduous audits of the wealthy. Rejoice, Shaggy 1%.
  5. https://www.click2houston.com/news/hpd-officers-workspaces-searched-after-new-warrants-unsealed-in-botched-drug-raid 2+ months later, HPD SIU/Homicide executes search warrant at the desk of the 2 officers alleged to have lied on the warrant application. They seized computers and some flash drives. https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/I-knew-the-officers-were-lying-Another-drug-13769519.php Another one of their cases has been dismissed as well.
  6. I thought my 1lb bone in pork chop was extravagant, then solamente73 steps up with a side of pork. Well done, sir, well done.
  7. From the Franklin BBQ videos I remember, Aaron uses the ACV spray to help determine the true color of the bark, making sure it's a nice mahogany before he's ready to wrap. That's what I use when I smoke brisket or any other meat for that matter. If it's good enough for Franklin, who am I to question the practice?
  8. I'm bookmarking this page for future reference. I wasn't involved in the bean entry last year, but our beans were fucking terrible. They soaked them in piss beer overnight then cooked with chicken stock and some fresh pico from HEB. It was lazy, and it tasted like garbage. These look 1,000,000x's better. Those pork hocks look sexy as hell.
  9. We've got a charity crawfish boil event at our office w/ teams from a bunch of different businesses in the industry. I'm in charge of our BBQ team to cater to those who don't like mudbugs. I think they're expecting around 2,000+ people, so I'm planning on having enough Q for ~500. I was going to do briskets, but we were worried that too many people would forgo crawfish if they knew there was brisket available. I'm thinking we'll do ~150lbs of pork butts for pulled pork sandwiches. If nothing else, it's a good excuse to buy some bear paws for the cook team. I might buy a brisket and sneak that in as well for the cooks since we're going to have to tend the pit for that long anyway. It's the first Friday in May, so I'll try to snap some pics along the way.
  10. Paraphrasing but the president of the FOP said something to the effect of "We just want the criminals held accountable, just like we are held accountable when we make mistakes." So I guess he's advocating for paid vacations for citizens that murder other citizens so long as they feared for their life?
  11. You’re right. Got my metric rounds confused. I don’t think AR10s are standard issue, even for SWAT. These were 5.56 holes.
  12. Not that I'm aware of. I believe in his early video, NewsNowHouston was looking at the bullet holes in the home and nearly all were consistent w/ 7.62 rounds (i.e. AR-15 style rifles) as entry or exit holes, but there were a couple or more exit holes w/ a larger diameter, which would be right for the revolver Tuttle was carrying. I doubt he was responsible for all of the injuries sustained by officers because his revolver only held 5 or 6 rounds max.
  13. I don't think we have to make the leap to malice or pre-meditation on the part of Goines and Co. I think this is a case of lazy detectives not doing the appropriate legwork to justify their use of force, then deciding to eliminate the witnesses after it was apparent that their mistake was going to burn them and their department. They were definitely prepared to plant drugs, if needed, to make their raid a "success", but they weren't prepared to be met with live fire from an armed homeowner. The fact that a situation like this could ever exist shows that that whole Narcotics division is rife with corruption through and through if it could allow such tactics to exist in the first place. This is the deadly tip of the iceberg for Goines and the rest of that department.
  14. This is the mother of Rhogena Nicholas. I'd be highly surprised if she made a call to the HPD about fears of her daughter being a drug addict based on her accounts of her relationship and communications with her daughter as recent as the morning of the deadly raid. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/I-want-them-to-clear-her-name-Mother-of-13705640.php I have a feeling like there may have been a real welfare concern call to 311 about a daughter's drug use, but I'm guessing either the operator misheard the caller or the caller misspoke. I'm beginning to think that the confusion of Harding vs. Hardy Streets set in motion succession of mistakes that led to this deadly raid. Goines and Co. took the limited info they had at face value, faked a buy to establish PC for a warrant, then got shot up before they could plant the drugs to justify their raid when it was obvious that they had the wrong house.
  15. This corroborates what NewsNowHouston was reporting early on about kill shots to Tuttle to ensure he was dead. I wonder whose idea it was to pretend as if there was another hostile in the home as an excuse to not send in paramedics to render aid... bear in mind, they had been surveilling the home for 24 hours before the raid and hadn’t seen any evidence of a 3rd occupant going in or coming out of the home in that time.
  16. The misuse of literally is essentially a figure of speech at this point. Sounds better than figuratively too.
  17. It was terrible. Bonus points... pecan maple oatmeal pie. Used a pre-made pie crust that was a touch to small for my pan, hence the partially collapsed crust. It will not affect the taste.
  18. Debated whether to post this here or in Steelshank’s thread, but here it goes. The wife’s away, so it’s time to make that “boring” taste of home that wreaks of comfort. I bring you pan fried bone-in pork chop with potatoes and milk gravy.
  19. Wow, hadn't even thought about the child locks. Driving through a bar area late at night and just parking on the curb, you're almost assured some drunk is going to get in thinking it's their Uber/Lyft/etc. If you're a deranged murderer, that's literally stealing candy from a baby.
  20. No dan dan noodles?!?! Those chili oil dumplings tho...
  21. Fuck the pussy-ass DA for not even pursuing charges for the cop the fired w/ no reason, warning, or justification. He's an enabler of this sort of unnecessary deadly escalation. Fuck the trigger happy cop. I hope that cowardly fuck is haunted by his actions until he takes his own life, but you know he's too much of a puss to even follow through with that.
