  1. That whole twitter thread is gold, Jerry, gold.
  2. It's nice to see the checks and balances going into action AFTER a couple citizens are murdered. This justice system is slicker than shit, I tell you what.
  3. Sounds like the CI was even less reliable than Fuzzy Dunlop. Sounds like the CI was so unreliable he didn't even exist.
  4. The way Acevedo spoke of his conversation with the brother the deceased Dennis Tuttle a couple days after the raid was very frustrating. It sounded as though Acevedo were trying to convince the brother to keep an open mind that his brother may actually have been the dangerous drug dealer the police portrayed him as, not just an innocent civilian killed by bad police. Like his brother was actually fucking Heisenberg, not the Walter White-esque person that he had known his whole life. I hope there is mass overhaul throughout narcotics and police higher management because of this fucking travesty. If Art makes it out of this, I'll be highly disenfranchised.
  5. I've got a jury summons for the 25th. I don't try to get out of jury duty. I bitch enough about the legal system that if I weaseled my way out of it, I wouldn't be able to handle my own hypocrisy.
  6. That was the initial theory of this News Now Houston reporter dude, but doesn't appear to be the case. These homes are nowhere near each other and the warrant had the 7815 Harding St address. I'm thinking it's more than likely the CI was used to acquire some heroin and give false testimony that he purchased it from the home they raided. Sounds like a lot of sloppy/lazy/blatantly bad police work was done to write the affidavit that was used to justify the no-knock warrant. I mean, if they have to rely on overhearing a neighbor walking by the house saying over the phone "The police are at the dope house," as justification for their raid, then you know they're grasping at straws. There's a reason the primary officer involved in the investigation that lead to this raid has been relieved of duty pending the remainder of the investigation. Clearly they didn't do their due diligence.
  7. This interview with him gives more information.
  8. Looks like that video was put out before the warrant was released. Warrant showed the Harding Street address. Sheath the pitchforks for now, though I suspect they'll get good use once we know more information.
  9. News Now Houston posted a video that suggests HPD hit the wrong house. They raided and murdered the occupants of 7815 Harding St. This guy, based on the description of the home presented by Chief Acevedo, thinks they intended to raid 7815 Hardy St, which actually appears to be a drug den, with fences and high tech/night vision security cameras. If this is true, holy fucking shit. I hope the dead have some very litigious surviving family members to seek justice on their behalf.
  10. Ryan Grigson used to play OL, but he was a terrible evaluator of talent on either side of the line for the Colts when he was the GM.
  11. Maybe they were just aching for some of that good loving... https://mashable.com/2016/09/30/do-not-resist-police-warrior-cops/#5iO4RmioIiq0
  12. Lulz, my sister-in-law and her husband were supposed to fly into Reno today then drive up to Tahoe for a week of skiing with his family. Tahoe is impassible and their cabin is expected to be without power until Sunday. So... now they get to spend the week in Reno. What a fucking waste of valuable vacation time. I couldn't help but laugh, but now I'm starting to feel bad about all this schadenfreude.
  13. For my chili cookoff, I powdered all of my dried chilis ahead of time so I could make my mix ahead of time. Food processor until small enough for the coffee/spice grinder to handle. Gotta be careful with the hot boys, like Scorpion. I did that out on my patio with a wet bandana over my face so I didn't mace myself. Probably looked like a meth cook, but the good good chili powder was worth it.
  14. Right time period, but not exactly. Apparently there was a Dr. from Vermont that was pushing "honegar" as a cure-all in the 70s. Yep, apple cider vinegar and honey. Apparently this caught on in Japan, so when an apple and honey flavored curry product was made, Vermont curry seemed an appropriate name. Either way, it was pretty tasty, but a little too mild for my taste. I'll cook it again, but I'll try the med-hot variety next time. Tasted great for lunch today too. A serving plus some cooked brown rice only ran about 440 calories too, which is very diet friendly while still being filling.
  15. You're a braver man than me. I'm actually surprised it works and the glass survived the high heat and point loads.
  16. Do my eyes deceive me, or are you using a cast iron pot with legs on top of a glass top stove?
  17. Be sure to toast them in a dry pan first. It softens them up and gives them a great flavor.
  18. I would pretty much co-sign anything Brisketexan writes at this point. I'm assuming he's just an older, wiser version of myself at this point.
  19. Anyone ever try Japanese curry? My curiousity got the better of me and I bought a box of Vermont Curry. I'm trying it tonight for dinner w/ chicken thighs and brown rice.
  20. God, the sounds of the psychological warfare they used (dolphin chirps and the screams of dying rabbits) was fucking haunting. I hope Janet Reno is rotting in hell now.
  21. Yeah, if you listen to the Reasonable Doubt podcast with Adam Corolla and Mark Geragos, they talked about Roger Stone and similar situations. In most of these cases, the defense's legal counsel has already let the prosecutor know that they would surrender themselves in the event of a warrant. This is a case of the DA/SA/etc. wanting to send a political message, unleashing the dogs when their use of force is entirely unnecessary. It's especially true when they tip off a news agency so they can be there to film the arrest raid, even though it was a sealed indictment. Apparently proper rules and etiquette don't apply if you work for the State.
  22. There's usually just enough queso left to do just that as the tacos arrive.
  23. Yeah, but all Torchy's should be dine-in only. I can't imagine eating any of their food after a car ride home. I've got a method: Step 1 - Go directly to bar. Order beer/pegleg/Mexican Martini (based on whatever is on HH special that day). Order queso at the same time. Step 2 - Once queso arrives, order your tacos (and another drink if needed). Step 3 - You should be just about finished with your chips and queso by the time the tacos arrive. Step 4 - profit
  24. I got shingles last summer. Worst part was no pool for like 4-6 weeks until the symptoms subsided. For me, it was a few small patches on my back, but was like a 1/10 on the pain/itchiness scale. My wife actually popped like 2-3 of the blisters thinking it was some sort of acne before I convinced her that it wasn't zits. That crazy woman will pop any skin abnormality if you let her. I was put on Valtrex and some steroids and that's about it. I was born in '85 and remember getting chickenpox as a young kid (1st grade I think), before the vaccine was available.
