Re: clock management. It’s been situationally pretty terrible actually. Many games I’ve watched us inexplicably let the clock roll off at the end of the half with 3 timeouts available.

Sometimes I think people want Sark to use timeouts just to say they used them, or to have another thing to second guess (i.e.) used them the wrong time.

    • 5/11 games, we have scored a TD with under a minute remaining in the half.
    • 8/11 games, we  scored TD(6) or FG (2) with under 4 minutes remaining

Whether he uses TO or not, seems pretty good at closing out 1st halves with a score.

  2. I'd love to see GP decide that cashing checks as an analyst with Texas, and playing his music in Austin with absolutely ZERO pressure is a pretty sweet gig at his point in his career.

Incredible run but hilariouslt bad play call in that situation

Anything other than a TD pass, most likely leads to a FG attempt.  With 1 timeout left, and Bijan averaging 10 yds/carry, Sark likely took the ball out of Ewers' hands to avoid a sack or int (probably a good idea), to ensure a FG attempt.  I'd say not a bad call at all.

The returner almost never had time to catch it before the coverage was on him.

This.  Offense had shown they weren't going to move the ball.  And all year TX has done well rushing the punter without hitting him.  Just like they did this time.  Only issue is that their flopping punter kept throwing himself on the ground and forcing the refs to make a call or listen to Dykes chew on them the whole next series.  Refs wanting to fuck Texas along with a plausible excuse is a recipe for disaster.

I didn't necessarily like going after the punt considering the near penalties before, but I also can understand the call.
