  1. I think the NCAA wanted to drop the hammer on KU, I think they underestimated how seriously KU would defend itself, and there is absolutely no way they want to be drug into court to defend heavy sanctions (and the resulting financial damages) and have that contrasted with the FBI findings. Their best case is upholding a relative slap on the wrist and the worst case is they’re done as an organization. We’re posturing as if really going after the NCAA is on the table, and it probably is…the NCAA dying would be great for basketball schools. If the power conferences owned the tournament, we’d have a B1G invite by lunch.
  2. My favorite of the cheap options is the Triple Tree 4 watch winder on Amazon. Sub $200.
  3. Texas will work this team. Grab game and first half and quarters if you can get it. 30 is way light.
  4. Contest plays (20-20)… Jets, Cowboys, Chargers, Bengals, Packers
  5. The flip side is they are one more play worth of the Rams caring from being 1-5 ATS in Davis Mills starts. But ATS record at the halfway point tells us much more about performance vs preseason expectation than it does anything predictive.
  6. I also snagged one recently, considerably happier with it than I expected to be, they just finally priced themselves in range of non terrible, non OLED options. It's in a game/theater room, so I don't use it for sound...but sports, movies, streaming, video games are all outstanding. I had a medium end direct-lit Sony before and really didn't know what I was missing. I thought the LG (C1 I think) was just as good but (as stupid as it sounds), my side TVs in the sports setup are LGs, and I didn't want to solve the remote issue of them crossing up. Tie went to not having to figure that out. The Samsungs just don't stack up considering their price point, IMO. If you're going to spend the money, go OLED with Sony or LG...if you're not you can downgrade to a mid-range direct lit and steer clear of the QLED no man's land.
  7. If Taylor is back it will be lower, but I'm as anti Miami as they come (see my previous season win total under notes), and even I make it 6.5. The Dolphins are regular bad, the Texans are baaaaad. FWIW I'm 20-20, so I might as well be flipping coins if that matters to you in my handicap.
  8. Contest plays (18-17)… Colts, Steelers, Lions, Falcons, Broncos Some of these are line dependent, lots of movement around 3 so get the best of it.
  9. I grew up in small town Kansas and this brought a tear to my eye. Oh what I wouldn’t give to fuck up my dad’s truck in a Sonic stall on a warm summer night. Again. Simpler times.
  10. Contest picks are in already, because I wanted to play the Thursday game (13-17)… Browns, Raiders, Titans, Colts, Patriots
  11. Contest plays (11-14)… Vikings, Packers, Chargers, Browns, Steelers
  12. Went back to some old data, and depending on how you measure it this is my worst Q1 in the NFL ever. Not really W-L, I've started this slow before, but generally due to losing coin flip games...this year has very little to do with luck. I've never had bigger power rating adjustments this fast since I've been seriously handicapping the NFL (~20 years). I've moved 6 teams by a field goal or more already, which is unprecedented. Anyway, long way to go still. Contest plays (8-12)... Saints, 49ers, Broncos, Bills, Chargers
  13. Got it. Thanks for running it. See you guys next year.
  14. Win Totals: Orioles U63.5 - Winner Marlins U71.5 - Winner Twins O88.5 - Loser (by a zillion) Blue Jays O86.5 - Winner RedsU 81.5 - Loser (they tried to gag for me) Ranger U67.5 - Winner Added up for +3.5u to go with +4.36u on individual games for a solid if unspectacular season. I'll try to have some playoff picks, but the NFL is monopolizing my time...I'm in significantly more season long contest stuff than normal this year, but I do think some playoff series are mis-priced which will probably motivate me to dig in.
  15. For comparison’s sake, this was $8.5k a couple months back in Caliber Collision/USAA dollars.
  16. Contest plays (7-8): Dolphins, Lions, Patriots, Eagles, 49ers.
  17. Contest plays (5-5 so far): Browns, Chargers, Patriots, Jets, Seahawks
  18. This notion that only dumb people use iPhone and Mac has to stop, because it’s both stupid and wholly unsupported by fact. Back to your regularly scheduled Tesla hate, which I mostly agree with.
  19. Pretty well hate the board this week, but you have to have 5 for contest purposes. Cowboys, Seahawks, Falcons, Rams, Raiders
  20. I reserve the right to stop posting these if I'm in contention later on, but I probably won't be. The numbers vary a little by shop and static vs dynamic line rules, but I'm pretty well settled on my week 1 contest plays... Cowboys, Patriots, Chargers, Browns, Falcons Patriots will probably also be a cash play. Also, I found a Titans UNDER 9.5 +100 and grabbed that. I'm done with season win totals now unless the Bills number pops.
  21. My biggest one is Circa Survivor, which counts Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day as their own "week"...so it's 20 picks to the end. So, if I'm playing to win, I need to avoid teams that play those days and generally need to have all 3 entries survive on common picks until week 12 or so before I start considering getting cute. There is also a $1M bonus for using the Chiefs or Bucs with you last pick, though if I get to a point where I need them, winning is obviously more important than chasing that bonus. It may not work and I could crap out week 1, but I think the strategy is sound. San Francisco on all 3
