  1. He hit a buzzer beater to win in Allen Fieldhouse against a very good KU team, too. Might have been the first of the Texas/SWC teams to get a win there on that shot (if my memory is right).
  2. I wound up at Chuy's for lunch. Not that anybody thinks it's good, but when did it go from below average to totally sucking? The salsa tasted like diced tomatoes.
  3. Well, there you go. 6 makes a lot more sense than double digits.
  4. OU -12 in the RRS is stupid. That will be under a touchdown by kickoff.
  5. You're not missing anything. Oklahoma table games suck balls.
  6. They aren’t discounted by much ever, but BBQ Outfitters usually deals a little on Memorial Day weekend.
  7. This one should be popular. Jimmy V week is basically a time where we show enough respect for cancer that we pretend he wasn’t a slimy douchebag.
  8. Shaw is awesome. You’ve had worse teeth cleanings that a vasectomy from him.
  9. My son is 9 (first year of kid pitch) and has finally stopped having the insta-reaction to get out of the way. Stood in and took two like a GD man this weekend (one against a kid that threw pretty hard) and tried to turn into one other inside one. I was bursting with pride.
  10. I haven't been back since it reopened either, but I share your opinion on there being "better" options.
  11. With your preflop raise, if he's got A-6, A-Q, or A-8 (gross), he might be hoping you have a boat you "can't fold". A couple would be in your range and follow the betting pattern...Q-Q, 6-6. Without a really good read, I think we're beat and have to fold.
  12. Same Suzi's as Anderson/Shoal Creek?
  13. We're not really doing it wrong, the technology is just in its infancy. We're currently carrying around cells phones that look like briefcases, but we'll eventually get to the smart phone. The city driving stuff that we're struggling to solve mostly applies to interstate driving too, we're just very early in the learning/implementation of figuring this stuff out.
  14. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0755VJ33G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got that guy and love it.
  15. I'm a pretty serious dad about coaching my boy, and it's select baseball...so we're trying to win. But the most important thing he's going to take from sports is handling adversity. How in the hell am I supposed to guide him through that if I'm making excuses and protesting when he gets bet or bitching about balls and strike calls if a kid fans him (which happens all the time...dads are insane about this)?
  16. I liked Waterstreet that was in the building that's now been Sam's Boat for a decade plus. That part of town had no options like it then. You could do a decent piece of fresh fish and a wedge salad for like 8 bucks, and it was close to my office. Still is actually but different office/company.
  17. Didn't even know it was closed, haven't been in forever. That was the site of my first date with the wife, circa 2001.
  18. Good thing they caught him. This guy screams weirdo going on a killing spree.
  19. It's Central Texas and Kansas City for me, though I'm only in KC a couple times a year, so I stay pretty tightly focused on the best places when I'm there. Other than obvious differences in brisket prep, the best Texas and KC places are more similar than different. The depth of really good (if unspectacular) joints that Central Texas has developed over the last 5-10 years is staggering.
  20. This is pretty much where I'm at. Fold, because I don't see enough paths to victory, mathematically or by gut.
  21. Had lunch there yesterday, wife picked it as a "something we don't normally do" for Mother's Day. The food was predictably pretty terrible (combo fajitas), and the service was even worse. 15 minutes before greeting, queso/guac showed up but we didn't have chips, yet. Took 5 more minutes (and two employees) to solve that. Food took about 30 minutes. I don't know if they didn't know it was Mother's Day or if they're just even more terrible than before. I'm glad I only go about once a year.
  22. I think it will land on "about the same". There are lots of hands in the cookie jar for widespread sports gambling...leagues want compensation, governments want their piece, and ultimately those hands are powerful enough to get it done. All in all, if I'm betting legally in Texas but paying a worse price due to all the mouths to feed, I'm going offshore or through a bookie, anyway.
  23. Austin's traffic is legitimately worse than cities of similar population due to the lack of freeways/lanes. If I need to get downtown from 183/Mopac, the fact that my default would be something like Burnet -> 45th -> Lamar instead of the two N/S thoroughfares doesn't really have an equivalent in places like Indianapolis, San Jose, Cincinnati, Kansas City, etc. Houston is a different beast just due to population.
  24. Sub steak, two packets of fire —> legit taco.
