  1. Respect for the Swingman pants. My son's team switched to double stripes this year, so his pairs are relegated to practice now.
  2. That's pretty much right. He's quietly a poor rebounder, he's pretty loudly a poor defender...especially bad on the perimeter but in the post his "success" is just size related. Guys that can match his height have success (Bamba worked him in Austin). Can't shoot, worse off the pick and roll and De Sousa, who's so raw it's insane. He can dunk over undersized front lines. Good luck in the NBA with that as your only plus skill.
  3. Slow play is worse than rape. It's about time somebody treated it with the appropriate level of urgency.
  4. "You've got something on your ass." They look and see nothing. "My eyes."
  5. As bad as the Royals are, I think we're getting to the point where the value is getting sucked out of fading them. You're going to be laying a lot of wood backing mediocre pitchers, and they're probably not QUITE as bad as they've looked.
  6. Good read. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Lawrence has more than one Taco Bell. There is hope.
  8. Hooli is sorta like AT&T, controlling access and some content. Having (and motivating) users to be tied into their centralized, served up internet...essentially the internet we have today in real life. The decentralized internet would theoretically render their servers farms obsolete and cost them subscribers, essentially kill the company. Gavin thought the patent that Richard/Pied Piper now have was impossible, because his experts didn't have distributed compute power then. Mobile devices and Pied Piper's compression performance have made it possible, so they're trying to build a business out of that. It's probably not solving a real-world equivalent problem, but it's a pretty clever plot device for a tech geek show. I agree with everybody else, nowhere near the bar itself for itself, but I'm not going to stop watching.
  9. And only the 2nd longest game of the night. Twins/Indians to the 15th in Puerto Rico.
  10. Bottom of the 14th in Oakland, tied at 11. James Shields is your new pitcher of record for the White Sox...2nd career relief appearance. A’s warming up 2 guys for a possible 15th. Only one of them is actually a pitcher.
  11. The price for backing the Angels when Ohtani pitches are way out of whack. I faded him last night and am going to keep doing that until the market adjusts.
  12. It does. It’s why the argument that it’s fresher on the coasts vs Uchi should make you quietly chuckle.
  13. That's a pretty good description of Hopdoddy. It's good, and I like it, but my max line tolerance is about 5 minutes.
  14. I've only lived here since 99, so maybe I don't have enough runway, but how can Flores ever be considered overrated? I've never heard a single person describe it as good. I like the Strait Plate and Margs at Maudie's, but that's a good entry. Z Tejas is probably my #1 for this category. As the restaurants have gotten better around here, the level of love has diminished...but that used to be an OMG you gotta go place. I've never gotten it.
  15. Don't sleep on the mixed in bacon and onions.
  16. I’ve always loved how TJ Ford and Kevin Durant both look like Michael Jordan had a kid with Shaq.
  17. I have spent the last few years making an honest attempt at my signature but with my left hand.
  18. I'm far from an apologist on this stuff, I was (lightly) recruited in basketball. I saw how dirty it was even in the 90s...it's gotta be miles worse now. Everybody that's recruiting high level guys is some amount of dirty. But I actually believe that Self didn't know about De Sousa. He's usually pretty quick to sit guys when eligibility stuff comes up.
  19. I don't think Adidas cares which school as long as it's an Adidas one, because they ultimately don't care about their programs winning so much as getting kids hooked in for a shoe deal when they move on. I don't think they'd bid against themselves in a situation where a kid was down to Louisville and Kansas, for example. I'm presuming there are other parameters at play here, lots of recruiting pros and cons can still apply among selecting between different schools (even of the same apparel deal). My assumption from following all this is that Nike and Adidas are working hard ($$$$$) for the top guys, we just haven't cracked the Nike egg, yet.
  20. I voted OBP butting doesn’t matter. My team is broke.
  21. Tiger gave us a run of the best golf every played. That bought him some leeway. Bailing on your parents and sister is a bridge too far for a lot of folks, too.
  22. You came to the right decision. You’ll definitely enjoy the mower more than you’ll enjoy the next dude enjoying the fake cans.
  23. I have built the worst fantasy offense of all time. Where’s that panic button?
