  1. That's textbook SteelShank thread.
  2. We better start Arch Manning from here on out or we'll never win another game this season!!!!
  3. Grew up an hour and a half from Greenville, and during my senior year (Fall of 1991) I visited a friend who was a freshman at ECU and went to a football game. I remember a mostly full and very loud and energetic crowd, although they had a damn good team that year -- Jeff Blake at QB, Robert Jones at LB -- finishing 11-1 with a No. 9 ranking.
  4. The Georgia loss, while utterly disappointing, was nowhere near as bad as 1997 UCLA or 2010 Iowa State, to name just a couple home games. But in my lifetime as a Horn, the absolute worst game I've attended anywhere in terms of (1) shitty performance that dashed all pre-game expectations, (2) opponent, (3) weather, and (4) complete ass-kicking, was 2000 OU.
  5. Good to know. Two blocks from my office and I plan to vote there today or tomorrow.
  6. Just the fact that Harris has made Trump transform his campaign strategy into complete reactionary (or over-reactionary) mode has been glorious.
  7. Maybe 8th or 9th grade for me. Overall not as scary at the time, but the scene of Pennywise coming out of the shower drain made my pull my sheets in closer that night when I went to bed.
  8. I recall he had a hell of a game against Colorado in the 1994 season (when our defense handed Rashaan Salaam the Heisman - I was there; sweated my ass off), but don't remember him doing much else that year, and probably because of injury, which opened the door to James Brown.
  9. I started learning this in my 40s, but I worked out 4-5 times a week, had a relatively clean diet, and tried to get 7-8 hours of sleep. I still stick to that more or less, but now that I'm staring at my 50th birthday at the end of this year, I'm feeling that even more. The cheats here and there and weekend drinking are harder to overcome.
  10. I didn't come to Texas until 1994, so I don't know anything about Shea Morenz's recruiting, but by that time it seemed like the general consensus on him was "meh."
  11. In terms of nudity, I remember when Tarzan The Ape Man came on HBO when I was maybe 6, and it was one of the first times I can recall seeing full nudity. This was me watching Bo Derek --
  12. Ah, I had not heard that. One thing I learned about the culinary industry from Fight Club --
  13. For what it's worth, I've heard a couple reports on NPR (libs!!!) that the culinary union is all in for Harris.
  14. Is this where I can talk about hamburgers?
