  1. We just weren’t ready for their mobile QB.
  2. Note how she put quotes around “back yard.” Love anal reference, Laura.
  3. This is the same party that elected Donald Trump after the "grab them by the pussy" tape, elected him again after covering up hush payments to a porn star, and will elect him again (after the Roberts Court rules he can run for a third term) when they now pretty much know he's all over the Epstein files for having sex with trafficked minors. The divorce and whatever scandalous details of Ken's affairs come out of it don't matter. If the voters still see Paxton as more MAGA than Cornyn, Cornyn will get his ass whupped.
  4. In all fairness, if the White House has lockers, Rubio is probably getting stuffed into them.
  5. Sounds like my daughter's camp experience. She was a camper for a couple years, then a counselor-in-training for two more, and then a counselor after her senior year and now this year after her freshman year of college. I never thought to ask her what kind of training she had to go through in order to be come a counselor. I assumed at the very least some basic CPR and water safety, but mostly she just worked her ass off learning how to operate and organize the camp. I seriously doubt she had any training that would remotely prepare her to get herself and the young girls in her cabin swiftly to safety after waking up in the middle of the night to water rising in her cabin only to get swept away by raging waters filled with trees, cars, and other heavy debris moving at lightening speed. It's a nightmare scenario, but parents of camp kids watched that happen last week, and I don't think any of us feel like our kids would be trained for that, and we can only hope their mentally and physically strong and quick enough to deal with that.
  6. Do you think her lawyer was okay with her sending out that tweet, or do you think she even consulted with him before doing that? I'm not a family lawyer, but with a law practice that is as personal and emotional as that, I imagine a lot of lawyers routinely tell their divorce clients upon engagement to refrain from any social media communications about the proceeding, even if the other spouse was a cheating, stealing, abusive shitbag. I'll let @hornian and others weigh in.
  7. Girls trip with Heidi?
  8. The problem with that is, the desire to protect children is outweighed by the Second Amendment's right to sleep through the night.
  9. Rubio usually has a look on his face that says he was shoved into a lot of lockers in high school.
  10. Edited for reality.
  11. I think you misunderstood that passage about him riding an ass into Jerusalem.
  12. They have a dedicated running club that heads out every morning around 4:00 a.m. or so, even in the rain.
  13. That’s awesome.
  14. You doin’ the drywall work up there at the new McDonalds?
  15. Just like he’s had sex with Heidi dozens of times.
  16. Seeing it Friday with my kids. The trailer didn't really grab me, but I loved Guardians, and the kid in me is still a sucker for a Superman flick.
  17. I don't think Comey's bullshit affected the 2016 election outcome. Trump was still beating Hillary even if Comey kept his mouth shut. But still, fuck him. I hope the Trump gestapo goes full no-lube.
  18. Oh like you've never been to a Turkish bath.
  19. Rain dumping in downtown Austin right now.
  20. Better looking, too.
  21. Your corollary was going to be my response. Sure, in the abstract we can argue that disaster response should be a state activity. Why should my tax dollars as Texas resident pay for some awful nature shit that happens in Florida or Kentucky? But as you allude, when left to the states, there are a lot of states that do an awfully shitty job in providing public services, such as education and roadways and other transportation infrastructure. It may be because they are governed by a political ideology that doesn't want to spend money for those things. Or, as a whole some states are poorer than others, and might not legitimately have the resources. But that's where our federal government has stepped in, whether through the Department of Transportation, the Department of Education, or FEMA. Until Trump 2.0, that is.
