  1. The interview with Barbara Ayers-Wilson got me. She seemed fine at first, like enough time had passed and she was comfortable talking about her daughter's murder. But then watching her crying and visible heartbreak made me tear up.
  2. Didn't see this posted anywhere, but a John Candy documentary produced by Ryan Reynolds and directed by Colin Hanks is premiering on Sept. 4 at the Toronto Film Festival and available on Prime on October 10. https://variety.com/2025/film/news/john-candy-i-like-me-toronto-film-festival-1236417785/
  3. Obergefell will be overturned in a one-sentence unsigned opinion.
  4. Gonna be hard to fit that on the back of his jersey.
  5. Show us on the doll where Parker touched you,
  6. But have you accepted St. Nicholas as your Lord and personal savior?
  7. Given he insists his wife looks like Sara Jean Underwood, it’s the latter.
  8. Haley v. United States. Haley 7, United States nothing. You see it can be done!
  9. I don't know, sir. I don't fucking know either. I guess we learned not to do it again. Yes, sir. I'm fucked if I know what we did. Yes, sir. It's, uh ... hard to say. Jesus Fucking Christ.
  10. I have a question about the depiction of 1991 Austin, Texas. I moved here a little less than three years after the murders, and I don’t remember that much of a cowboy-like presence in the city. Was Lanier High out in the boonies at that time? Or did the victims and their families live in a place like Manor when it was mostly ranch land? My wife has the same question, and she was born and raised here, McCallum High Class of 1991. (By the way, she went to Lamar Middle School with one of the victims.) They did show the “weird” Austin of the old school Drag. But for the most part it felt like I was watching a setting more like 1970s Fort Worth.
  11. You think a Cherokee will cost more?
  12. Nancy Mace has a flat ass. Greg Abbott has a paralyzed penis. To get to the other side.
  13. Bergers and sausages. This page is making me hungry.
  14. Cottage cheese is an excellent lean protein source. But, it has a surprisingly high amount of sodium.
  15. 50g is indeed a lot, and I don't think I come close. I've read 30 is good for men in their 50s, and I often consume at least that in a day. I've said before on this or other threads, but I credit my increased fiber intake with a significant drop in cholesterol.
  16. So a recent food intake I've tried this week is overnight oats. I know that's been a thing for a while, but I want to do better about good complex low-glycemic carbs, as I sometimes overcorrect in response to the "carbs are bad!" line of thinking. The overnight oats are a pretty good way to start a day with a strong combination of protein, good carbs, and fiber, with very low sugar. Here's my recipe: 1/2 cup whole oats (not the instant variety), 1/2 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 scoop vanilla whey powder (20g or so), 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla coconut milk (you can also use almond milk), dash of cinnamon, 1-1.5 tsp vanilla extract. Mix, store in a covered container overnight, and the next morning add some blueberries. I eat this first thing when I get to the office after an early morning working, and I'm good until lunch.
  17. I know it's Kool-Aid season, but I fucking love the reports on the defensive line. For the last couple years we've entered a new season with uncertainly about replacing departing talent on the defensive line, only to see replacements step up and continue the high-performance of that unit. It says a lot about this staff's talent acquisition and development.
