Certifiably Surly

  1. Wow, two pages already on this guy. Nice work, fellas.
  2. Yeah, I commented about The Heights kidnappings/murders on another thread a while ago. I think that’s way more haunting and fucked up than The Yogurt Shop Murders. It’s also another commentary on incompetent law enforcement, as Houston PD seemed to have largely written off the disappearances as runaways and never did much of any real investigation.
  3. Case in point - I identified as Republican as an undergraduate in the mid-1990s. It was all I really knew growing up Catholic and the son of a Marine who lived in small-town military bases my whole life. Edit: Oh, and I was an apathetic Republican, as I never even voted until the 2004 election (voted for Kerry over Bush). If there are Trump fans on our football team, I bet most of them didn't vote in this last election.
  4. Especially someone who lives in the Valley.
  5. Same. They help keep my blood pressure in check.
  6. Watched this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've always been Billy Joel fan, and An Innocent Man was one of the first albums I bought as young kid with my own money. But I never took a dive into his life story. I didn't know he's been married four times, but it doesn't surprise me after watching this documentary and knowing more about his personality. He even owns up to it when he commented how his chosen lifestyle required a dedication to the music and performing to the detriment of almost everything else. It's also pretty apparent that he's been wrestling with this father's abandonment his whole life. And if you didn't appreciate it before, this show illustrates what a musical, lyrical, and vocal master that guy was.
  7. Does he post on Surly? If not, I don't come across any of his hot sports opinions.
  8. It’s like watching Picasso paint a nude.
  9. More like Choice Time.
  10. Found Graham’s texags sock.
  11. For some reason this made me think of Brisket.
  12. JD Vance has entered the chat.
  13. He also makes a tasty bundt cake.
  14. I would slam that Gender Sampler.
  15. Was she with him when he was having sex with minors?
  16. We're fucking falling apart here.
  17. Because an old white man — a “cracker” if you will — was removed and replaced with a black person . . . no, wait [checks notes] . . . he was replaced with nothing.
  18. Since when has knowledge been a barrier to posting?
  19. Sherman was not surprising at all. aggy was in the Big XII, Sherman had been the aggy OC coach during its glory days of 89-93, and was an NFL corch leading the Packers to three consecutive division titles. Oh, and that one time he got all tough with Warren Sapp after a game even though Sapp could've snapped his neck with little effort. He was born to be an aggy coach.
  20. Holy shit. Gundy has his work cut out for him.
