  1. A year or so ago I tried tracking calories on MyFitnessApp for a month or so. It was mostly out of curiosity, first to get a general sense of my daily caloric intake, as my food intake from day to day is pretty much the same without many wild swings (my Monday through Friday diet is pretty standard and boring), and second to see how I was getting to my daily protein target. But it seemed like too much work for someone who right now does not really need to track calories for a deficit (weigh loss) or surplus (getting swole). I've pretty much weighed the same for the past 10 years, and any swings are usually those times of the year when I consume more alcohol (holidays, vacations, football season).
  2. It's been said by others, but what a huge pickup for Sark in the portal. Really wish we had him for another year. But with Wingo, Moore, another badass from the portal, a badass freshman stepping up early, and Parker Livingstone, we will be stacked again at receiver.
  3. He also likes to drink soda.
  4. So, working out when sick . . . . Late last week I had developed a little head cold that I initially thought was allergies. Probably caught it during a short mid-week work trip. But I had also taken a customary week off of lifting, and although those rest weeks are recommended every 8-10 weeks or so, at the end of them I tend to get very anxious to get back into the gym. So on early Sunday morning I woke up feeling okay, a bit rusty after some copious beer drinking during the Florida game, but good enough to get back into the gym, and I had a pretty good lower body work out. But a few hours later I started feeling really run down, and despite hydrating like there was no tomorrow and consuming my usual post workout supplements and nutrients, by the evening I was feeling worse, and now it's in my chest. Not terrible, and I feel good enough to be in the office. But bad enough to miss this morning's workout. I've read numerous articles saying that if you're feeling sick but symptoms are confined to the neck up, it's probably okay to work out, but you should make it a lighter workout, because a rigorous workout can actually suppress your immune system for a short time while your body is in recovery mode. And the safer play is to just take a day off. Looks like I should have taken that advice, but stubborn me didn't want to extend my off week. Any thoughts on working out with a cold, or similar experiences?
  5. Good point. He's certainly no spring chicken, but 63 can still be relatively young for this game. I do think one potential negative against Cignetti is the current NIL/transfer landscape of college football. He's been at a big conference program for less than one full season, and he didn't have to deal with roster management on the NIL/portal level at places like James Madison and Elon. Recruiting is one thing -- it's relating to players and their families and selling them on your program, playing time, etc. But it might cause OU some hesitation to hire a guy with no significant experience in what is now a significant part of a head coaches responsibilities. And it's not like Venables has shown that roster/portal management is a strength for him.
  6. Yeah, that was a head-scratcher. If Cignetti is really the next hot rising star and is ready to cash in his success at Indiana, I can see him viewing OU as an attractive job, and maybe OU won't have much competition. Is USC going to shitcan Riley? I don't think so. FSU probably gives Norvell a pass coming off 10-3 and 13-1 seasons, and even if they fire him I don't think their financial position is any better than OU's. Cignetti is a West Virginia alum, but I don't see that as an attractive job over OU. Who else would be OU's competition, and who are other candidates? Cignetti end up falling in OU's lap.
  7. So how was the imitation crab? Just like the real thing?
  8. They’re terrible, we should win convincingly.
  9. The Chiefs and the Eagles.
  10. Apparently the one in Cloak Room.
  11. Multiple overlapping threads on Cloak Room.
  12. I never thought Herman would get another job at the level near Texas. But count me as surprised that he's doing so poorly at a place like Florida Atlantic.
  13. By the time I got to UT in the mid-90s, the Arkansas rivalry seemed like it was in the distant past, though I know it was only a few years prior that Arkansas left the SWC. I just don't loathe that school like I do aggy and OU, its academic standing has been creeping up, and Fayetteville is sort of blue-ish in an otherwise heavy red state. I'm fine with my son going to Arkansas if he wants to, and yeah, the tuition makes it one of the better bargains if your kid wants to go to a large state university outside of Texas.
  14. Awesome. One of the greatest moments from that series.
  15. I've been thinking about this, Mr. Hand. If I'm here and you're here, doesn't that make it our time? Certainly, there's nothing wrong with shitting on our time. FIGHT!!!
  16. Maybe not. Mack would've still had Tryone Swoopes as QB1, but I can't believe Major as OC would've been as bad as Shawn fucking Watson. Greg Robinson would've still been a solid DC, but he was a one-year stop gap after Manny got shitcanned, so Mack would've had to hire a replacement. Maybe Mack's game/clock management would've eked out another win or so. Who knows.
  17. Well then, fun college town with polite midwestern farm boys who won't try to go past second base.
  18. That's an aspect I'll be watching/dreading. Of course Trump knew about Project 2025, and his claim he didn't is another obvious line of bullshit on the campaign when he started to understand it could be a liability (just like a national abortion ban, IVF, etc.). But now that he's elected, will Trump just do what Trump wants to do and appoint his own folks over whomever The Heritage Foundation may want to handpick? Or is he feeble enough/giving less fucks and will put them in place early and let them do their thing?
  19. Among other things to watch in the coming months is the Trump transition. NPR was talking about it this morning, and how the first Trump transition to the presidency was an absolute disaster of disorganization, with a large number of his cabinet, staff, and other appointees being a terrible fit and lasting a hot second, preventing a lot of simple shit from getting done. The guy who was interviewed says he's getting signs of a similar transition this go-around. I know, shocker. Hey, at least there will be some entertainment.
  20. Congrats! I bet Dave Chapelle will make an excellent son-in-law! TEXAS!!!
  21. Yeah, it was probably a good idea that I wasn't getting my annual cholesterol bloodwork at the time. But I was in my 20s, so I was invincible.
  22. Haven't had those in years, but I remember sometime when I lived in Dallas in the 1999-2003 range a national publication gave the Snuffers cheese fries the distinction of the unhealthiest restaurant dish in American. I know there's a "Napoleon, like anyone could even know that" aspect to it, but I'm sure Snuffers didn't mind the recognition, and it didn't keep me away.
