  1. Haven't had those in years, but I remember sometime when I lived in Dallas in the 1999-2003 range a national publication gave the Snuffers cheese fries the distinction of the unhealthiest restaurant dish in American. I know there's a "Napoleon, like anyone could even know that" aspect to it, but I'm sure Snuffers didn't mind the recognition, and it didn't keep me away.
  2. That's awesome, Pescado. Congrats! I'm hoping Arkansas is on Kid No. 2's radar.
  3. Fun college town with a bunch of hot midwest women who like to bang.* *I know none of this to be true, but wishing the best for your son.
  4. From NW Austin, ready to get back the Longhorn mojo against the Gatas . . . TEXAS!!!
  5. Add Prima Nocta to the platform and I’m in.
  6. One of my favorites, and I don’t think that‘s shared among many King fans. Something about the Florida coast setting, the painting/premonition device, and the Persephone mythology, just captured me. I’ve read it twice and will probably read it again.
  7. Oregon is a good call because the rainy weather will surely improving his catching.
  8. Will plan on being there bright and early with the wife and two friends, one of whom is Brisket, who will bring sunshine and rainbows. Will there be food?
  9. Laughing/crying.
  10. It’s raining. In El Paso.
  11. For me, source only matters in that I’ve cut down on red meat to keep my cholesterol down, so I opt for chicken and fish. Shakes are good because the amount of protein we need as aging men on a fitness routine makes it difficult to meet the daily recommendation with just whole foods. Also, people will say that source matters based on rate of digestion. For example, a whey protein shake will digest quicker than a caesin shake or a chicken breast. But I don’t think that really matters, and I just focus on my overall macros for the day.
  12. I took creatine for a few years until last year, when my doctor noted that my creatine level was high. He asked if I was taking creatine, I told him I was, and he said pretty bluntly to stop doing that. So I did, and my creatine level was normal this year. I know studies have debunked the concerns from a couple decades ago that creatine was bad for your kidneys, and as recommended I drank a ton of water every day when I took it. But I really don’t notice a difference in performance or lean muscle mass now that I’m off it, at least not enough that an almost-50-year-old dude should care about. Short version: Take it or don’t take it. I think its efficacy is marginal, and better to focus on discipline with your weight routine and your nutrition, especially protein intake.
  13. I love my dad, but he voted for Trump, and he gets disability from the Marine Corps. Have fun with that, pops, and see you at Thanksgiving.
  14. You won’t without a Ouija board.
  15. Your weight in the 2024 Weight Loss/Exercise Thread. You’re rounding down. And you know it.
  16. It's a shame that Gardner never bloomed. I'll show myself out.
  17. You should. It's a great program. Yeah, you don't make money. But it's a significant part of the collective Longhorn NIL efforts that keep our program competitive.
  18. I'm not saying the Arab American vote was any deciding factor in the election. But for people like this fuckstick to spike the football for Gaza today is truly mind bottling. It's not that far from the undocumented illegal working a construction site in Texas high-fiving his coworkers this morning screaming, "Viva Donel!"
  19. Just ponied up for the annual, my friend. Sorry you're getting the blowback. Not cool.
  20. Tell him about which part? That Israel now has the green light to turn its military aggression toward Gaza up to 11? Or that by calling the sitting U.S Vice President a "bitch" on your social media blast you're providing more evidence to those who say your demographic's position in this election lacks any rational thought?
  21. I don’t think it’s the answer at all. As I’ve opined, it wouldn’t have mattered which candidate ran after Biden dropped out (and it wouldn’t have mattered if Biden stayed in the race). A huge chunk of the electorate who decided the election simply looked at their own situation and said, “Shit’s more expensive for me than it was a couple years ago, and I just think the other party can make it a little better.”
  22. I’m traveling to El Paso today for a big hearing tomorrow (“He’s arguing, he’s making an argument”), and I heard a guy on NPR this morning doing a post mortem of Texas say that El Paso Democratic turnout was down and support for R’s was up. I’m going to ask my local counsel what the fuck is up with that.
  23. You’re a fucking pansy for asking that.
