  1. These old 4Runners are hard to beat for a deer lease/outdoor vehicle and so much more practical and cheaper than a side by side at least for my uses. Loaded the dog, ice chest, clothing, deer corn and two rifles into the back of the runner. Drove 150 miles and then drove all over the ranch corning roads; cutting wood etc. It’s just hard to find one vehicle that is this reliable, capable off road and street legal! 218k miles and running strong Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I don’t want to mess up this thread but giving it a quick look I bet that 99 will be going for 11-13k on BAT. Super low miles; clean interior etc. The only things I would look at on that one would be rust from an Ohio truck. The underbody had been painted which makes leery. As black lab said; I did brakes, timing belt; fluid change etc when I bought mine. Expensive items on 3rd gens are rack and pinion; timing belt. Brakes I would recommend doing the tundra brake upgrade as 3rd gen rotors are undersized and prone to warping I apologize for the long reply
  3. I’ve got a 2002 and I’m pretty familiar with them; great vehicles! Big things that you need to look for are replaced ball joints; replaced radiator (look up pink milkshake). Manual transmissions are preferred and 1999 had a dealer option for a rear locker which is also highly desirable. Spend 20 minutes reading the link below and it will save you a lot of trouble: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/82033-3rd-gen-4runner-buyers-guide.html
  4. Some great rigs in here guys; I love these trucks! The overland LX will be put to use no doubt by the 16yo I included one more photo below as my dog loves the roll down back window and is always riding with me
  5. I wanted to start a thread dedicated to old 4x4’s that don’t quite fit in the classic car thread. I’ll start; I’ve got a 2002 3rd gen 4Runner; 216k miles; 4x4; old man emu suspension with bilstein shocks. It’s all dented up but runs great and hoping to get 300k out of it. Show me what you have:
  6. Those are some great deer. I’ve been out to our place 3 times and haven’t even messed with the deer due to the hogs. Between 4 guys we’ve shot 23 in 4 weeks. You think you are making a dent and then I sneak out there yesterday and see this... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Got a text yesterday from a connection and picked up these guys: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Had a great time getting out of town for a couple days but wasn’t going to shoot a deer due to the heat. I ended up shooting two hogs and we shot 6 total. My brother killed his first animal (hog) with an open sight Marlin .45-70. Really cool to see someone else get to hunt for the first time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’m a big fan of tract optics; bought some 8x42 a couple of years and and was blown away by the quality and build. They are Jap glass with ultra HD lenses and serious technology for the price www.tractoptics.com You can really tell the difference in low light situations with a good pair.
  11. This song is always appropriate when dealing with cattle:
  12. Thoughts on the knob creek rye? I picked up a 115 proof store pick today; worth the $45? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Planning on hunting with a buddy on some of his family land out in Lufkin. I got to shoot a banded dove last year which was a first. The dog is ready; hopefully it’s not too hot. Good luck!
  14. Got my 2019 buck from the taxidermist; turned out great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Bronco has 7 speed manual as well with a rock crawler gear
  16. 2door looks very nice! Coincidentally, Jeep put out some videos today showing a 6.4 hemi in a wrangler. Competition is good!
  17. Colter Wall has a new song out called “Western Swing and Waltz’s” that’s good. He’s got an amazing voice for his music
  18. Picked up another bottle of ecbp12; it’s pretty hot at 136.6 proof but I enjoyed the first bottle enough to get another. They also had angels envy rye but $90 seemed pretty steep so I passed
  19. 585 by my count but still a hell of a lot of weight! He’s going to be a monster this year!
  20. Market Street in Dfw has choice packers for $1.97lb. I picked one up today and they had plenty although they did have a limit of one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
