  1. That's good - I had a general question about hobbies and interests outside music - now I know where I might be able to go with that.
  2. Dude, I have that written down just in case. Where did that rumor originate?
  3. I'm interviewing Eric Johnson (phone) for my radio show at 2:20pm. Submit questions to make me look smart. He's doing a tour in honor of the upcoming 30 year anny of Ah Via Musicom. He's also doing the "Experience Hendrix" thing again later this spring.
  4. Gibson releases 50's/60's spec'd guitars. Likely expects an award for unfucking decades of meddling misadventures. https://www.guitarworld.com/news/namm-2019-gibson-unveils-new-classic-and-contemporary-electric-models
  5. Until NAMM is over, I'm going to go Hugo Stiglitz on this forum. You are going to have content coming out of your ass.
  6. Billie Joe Armstrong teased this yesterday.
  7. NAMM: New Special, Limited Edition Martins CEO-9 Grandioso's take: This is badass D-42 Custom Grandioso's take: The made 50 of these and they cost $9,999.00. For 1%ers only. Gorgeous though. Not sure about the fretboard inlays. OMCE Shadow Burst Grandioso's take: Swing and a miss DXMAE 30th Anniversary (An homage to Martin's Mexico plant that makes Martins for the common man.) Grandioso's take: Fuck yes. And this costs $799? Double fuck yes. D-Homeward Grandioso's take: Pass. Oh, it's also $20,000.00.
  8. NAMM 2019: Get your shit in tune, bro I already posted about the tuner that pedaltrain is releasing, but here are two other models dropping: Ernie Ball Peterson The old Peterson/Conn Strobe/Strobostomps set the gold standard for modern tuning. If you have psychosis-level OCD about your tuning, accept no substitutes. Side note: the third time I saw Neil Young play I noticed he had five of them labeled E, A, D, G, B. Look under the drum kit. So baller. ANYWAY, Peterson is dropping this: And you can save tunings to different colors, whatever that means.
  9. I have an 8-year-old 40" Philips HD TV that still works great but I want to move it into my guestroom. TV looks like this: The base looks like it's around 20" wide. I don't want to wall mount this damn thing but just set it on some dresser drawers. BUT - I want enough height clearance so I can put stuff up to 1 foot or so on the dresser without blocking the screen. I've looked at monitor risers (where I'd just use the factory stand), universal adjustable stands, and all kinds of stuff but can't get good info on height clearance. The tabletop stand/bases seem to low and the floor models seem way too high. Ideally, I would want to use a 2-leg type base/mount to save as much dresser space as possible. But I haven't seen any versions that raise the TV up that high. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
  10. Earthquaker makes the "Organizer." It's probably kinda pricey but maybe not a used one.
  11. I bought a couple pickguards for my Tele and went with a white one. If anyone wants this, I'll send it to you. It's a little more bright orange than pictured, but the image is pretty faithful. It just didn't really work well on a very light butterscotch guitar. It would be badass on any white Telecaster (for your Texas look) or a classic, royal, sapphire, or navy blue one. (You could create an "Astrocaster"). Also, I have an actual Fender pickguard with the two screw holes for the neck pickup if you want me to use that to mark where the neck pickup mount holes need to go, or if I can scare up a drill, (and I probably can) I'll do it for you myself. If you swapped out the hideous pickup covers and knobs on this thing for all white ones, you really would have an Astrocaster.
  12. There is a 0.0001% chance Ryan Adams does not own this Big Muff style pedal that is modeled after the ghost trap catching device in Ghostbusters. Intrigued but skeptical. Only an actual tank will seem to do. But I really need some kind of reverb for my new amp.
  13. Whoa. Bud Ross' grandson is remaking the original Ross compressor. (And the Ross distortion too but who gives AF). I thought I'd read somewhere that the original Keeley was a perfect Ross clone. I've also read (per JHS and Analogman) that the Ross is just a subtly modified Dyna Comp. Curious to see how this sells and what people think about it. If they want to be period authentic, it needs to loudly hiss at all times. Preorders being taken now and it's less than a month wait. $225 price tag. These will be in high demand just because of how many legends used them and did so on legendary recordings. I want to say Trey Anastasio uses like two of the 1970's originals. A cool product but just for fun collecting purposes.
  14. Doesn't really seem necessary, as there are now more delay pedals than there are grains of sand on a beach. But the Supro Tremolo pedal was/is badass, so maybe this thing will sound awesome and different too. It's all-analog but has some low-or-band pass filter features to brighten it up, which is very interesting to me. Also, no way the dude that was behind the Memory Man and Pigtronix's most insane delay unit wouldn't come up with something cool. I want to go to Guitar Center and mess with this right now.
  15. Well, hello. Here's a fun little reissue. Quick aside: Who the FUCK is this non-Andy doing this demo?
  16. So I'm over at Junior Brown's site trying to find out his press guy because I want to interview him for my radio show. And I'll be damned if this wasn't in the merch section. Unreal. 17. Awwww, y'all can just all go in on a DH-2 Death Fuzz pedal for my birthday (April 10). There is so more more NAMM to come though.
  18. Bold claims from NAMM 2019: The "Six" comes from these 6 modes: two overdrives, two distortions, one overdrive-distortion blend, and a booster. "B.O.D." just stands for boost, OD, distortion. And here's the manufacturer's very high opinion of itself: Q. Who the fuck is Tsakalis Audio Works? A. Some Greek company If it lives up to its hype, it might not be a bad deal. Timmy V2: $129.00 + potential long ass wait time BluesBreaker: $89.99 new (most recent BB-2 model which seems discontinued or something in the US); $185-380 for the 90's era model. King of Tone V4: STARTS at $265.00 + has a literal multi-year wait time. If you got on the wait list for a KOT V4 in October 2016 shortly before Trump was elected president, your KOT is shipping this month. You can snag one sooner on the secondary market for $400.00-$500.00
  19. Already sold out (or are just on pre-order).
  20. Victoria has been teasing this forever. I guess it has arrived - the Chicago-lux - their take on the 1959 5F11 Vibrolux. $1,899.00 is not a bad price at all either. It just seems like a Tweed Deluxe with Tremolo. Except these videos suggest more headroom and a little bit more smoothness. Here are some 5e3 1959 Tweed Deluxe demos (sounding badass). Victoria calls its version of this 20112. 14 watts just like the original and also the Vibrolux. Here are some 1959 5F11 VIbrolux
  21. MAN, FUCK THIS SHIT. That photo of all the Ibanezeses was awesome. Oh well. Here are some exclusive Chicago Music Eschange SGs. Sort of want. CME gets so much cool special runs and one-offs. My faves: Coral Olive Drab Walnut
