  1. MAN, FUCK THIS SHIT. That photo of all the Ibanezeses was awesome. Oh well. Here are some exclusive Chicago Music Eschange SGs. Sort of want. CME gets so much cool special runs and one-offs. My faves: Coral Olive Drab Walnut
  2. MOAR January 2019 pedals I'm an EHX believer, but there's like 4+ Big Muffs that I'm sure would suit me just fine. This is knob crazy. $150.00 isn't a crazy price though. For example, what's wrong with these badass little units: Although, I will say the Metal Muff sounds amazing AF. I would litereally never use this. Sounded better on the bass demos I heard than the guitar ones. Ok, be my guest and be 1,000th outfit to try and do a '55 Deluxe (or '57 Deluxe or '59 Deluxe). The '61 brownface setting is interesting but the thing just doesn't have enough growl and spit. My Blues Driver can do Neil better than this thing. Pleasant sounding but I'm not sure how much I'd use it. $200.00. Get an EHX Grand Canyon or an EQD Avalanche Run instead. You had me at "DEATH FUZZ." Weird sounding but at least you won't sound like anyone else. A modded RAT2 knockoff. Wouldn't be surprised if it beats the RAT with the extra features and circuitry. $72.00 - why the F not. Some crazy bass thing I don't understand. 40 minute drum looper for $109.00. Worth a risk.
  3. The Brits and Europeans are dominating winter NAMM. This sounds kinda badass. Definitely has the Marshall tone nailed (like 10,000 other pedals), but it's supposed to behave like the actual amp - not just sound like it. It's also got some boost and fuzz circuits for some creative/unique ideas. You can hear the AC/DC. The sound stays faithful even when he plugs it into the Fender DeVille. More of a Plexi sound than a Brown sound, but that's cool. Looks like it's gonna cost about $250.00.
  4. These "pedal platform" amps are getting tired. Turn off all your ethereal and 30 different shoegaze pedals and get out of your basement and go do some rocking, man. *Nope!
  5. Never heard of 'em. These dudes have always made bass amps until now. These are just 1x10" cabs but they look interesting. Choice of American or Britich voicing, Only about $550.00 and it weighs 13 lbs., which is incredible. British Racing Green tolex, and either a black (British) or silver (American) cloth grill with white piping. 15" wide and 11" deep so you could put a moderate size head on top. Lulz, though:
  6. Found a partial family photo. 5, 3, 8, 1, 2, 7, 10, 12, 11, 15, 18, 9, 4, 14, 17, 16, 13, 6 I love a good neon "fuck you yellow" on a good shredder guitar.
  7. Ok, so these things are 90% identical. DIfferences are: # of strings; slight neck variance but only on the fretboard at the nut and bridge (and not the radius or modern C-ish curve; top/back/body material; and finish Otherwise: this is all identical - 5pc Panga Panga/Walnut neck; Macassar Ebony fretboardWhite Step off-set dot inlay; Jumbo Sub Zero treated frets (24); Mono-rail bridge; identical neck and bridge pickups and switching system; hardware and color; nut; both also have Fishman® Fluence Voicing switch on volume control (push/pull); Luminescent side dot inlay; Schaller S-Locks strap lock pins; Luminescent Ibanez logo So just take off that seventh string, and this would be my ultimate shredmaster: The color is called "Black Aurora Burst Matte," but it looks like one of those tricked out chameleon paint jobs. Glowing dots. Why the fuck not... The luminescent side dot inlays make it easy for players to perform on dark stages, matching the dazzling luminescent Ibanez headstock logo. Watch the whole thing but this shit starts at 0:36. All these Axion style Ibanez guitars have pretty much the same shit. GOOD SHIT I might add. I Don't know what multitune is, but I guess I need to fix that.
  8. I just need to get something out of my system. Ahem, Fender.... WHERE THE FUCK IS MY JIMMY PAGE DRAGON TELECASTER?!?! CHRIST! AND WHAT ABOUT THE RYAN ADAMS STRAT?!?! You teased it in October 2017 for God's sake. How hard is it to make an 80's MIJ-looking Strat?
  9. Oh, you thought I was done? This axe features an African mahogany body with an ash top, and a Super Wizard HP neck that’s built from a five-piece maple and wenge combination. It also comes with a 17-inch-radius bound birdseye maple fretboard that’s adorned with offset mother of pearl dot inlays. The RG5120M is loaded with Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers that slot in at the neck, rounding off its look is a Lo-Pro Edge tremolo bridge and a neat Frozen Ocean finish. VERDICT: Cool The RG5220M shares the same tonewood, neck and hardware appointments as the RG5120M. Unique to this guitar is a pair of Bare Knuckle Brute Force humbuckers that produce a deep, saturated tone. With its eye-catching Transparent Fluorescent Green finish, it’s a guaranteed head-turner. VERDICT: Cool The sole entrant to Ibanez’s AM series uses Macassar ebony for its body, top and sides, and comes with an AM Expressionist set-in neck made from a three-piece nyatoh and maple combination. Additionally, the guitar is fitted with a bound 12-inch-radius ebony fretboard with regal-looking block inlays. Tone comes by way of two Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers that deliver a warm, balanced tone with excellent response. Gold hardware, an ART-1 bridge with a Quik Change III, and a natural finish cap off the model’s smart look. VERDICT: Creative, but Ibanez just can't make a decent hollow body. They're cheaply made and unimpressive in my experience. I bought a high end Gretsch once and the dude just gave me an Ibanez hollow body to take back home with me. I didn't ask for it, can't even remember the model, and played it maybe 10 times. I eventually sold it to a friend's little bro for $100 as a starter guitar and felt guilty for charging that much. RGIR9FME This nine-string behemoth features a nyatoh body with a flamed maple top, and a five-piece maple-and-walnut Nitro Wizard neck. To accommodate all its strings, this unusual instrument has a 37.4-inch-radius jatoba fretboard. Sonic appointments include EMG 909 humbuckers, while hardware components consist of a sturdy Gibraltar Standard II bridge. VERDICT: No, sir. I just watched about 10 youtube videos of people playing 9 string guitars and they were insufferable. It's possibly the only guitar ever developed that can under no circumstances whatsoever make a woman horny.
  10. I was just wondering when Ibanez would finally come up with a few new models. Just to show a few (I'm leaving out the seven string models). This ash-bodied guitar is loaded with Bare Knuckle Aftermath humbuckers at the neck and bridge. It also sports an Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge, and is decked out in an arresting Antique Brown Stained Low Gloss finish. This quirky model features a nyatoh body with a flamed maple top. In terms of electronics, the instrument is armed with Bare Knuckle Aftermath humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions. Hardware appointments include a Gibraltar Standard II bridge, while the guitar comes n a snazzy Indigo Aurora Burst Flat finish. This sleek six-string has a layered ash and nyatoh body with a flamed maple top. Tone comes by way of two ceramic-based Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers that slot in at the neck and the bridge, respectively. Elsewhere, the axe sports a mono-rail bridge and black hardware, as well as an alluring Cerulean Blue Burst Low Gloss finish. There are two models in this category: the S61AL and its seven-string cousin, the S71AL. Both feature nyatoh bodies with flamed maple tops, as well as Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers (ceramic) at the neck and bridge positions. They also sport similar bridges: Gibraltar Standard II for the S61AL and Gibraltar Standard II-7 for the S71AL. Both guitars are available in a Black Mirage Gradation Low Gloss finish. ----------- Now if I absolutely positively needed a shredder guitar, these would be strong contenders. The Signature / Player models. Mario Camarena MAR10 The math rock guitar-slinger, who plays in Chon, gets a HSS guitar with three Seymour Duncan pickups: a Hyperion single-coil in the neck and middle positions, and a Hyperion humbucker at the bridge. It has an American basswood body, an AZ Oval C roasted maple neck, a 12-inch-radius roasted maple fretboard, and a beautiful Lavender Metallic Matte finish. Steve Vai JEM7VP The JEM7VP is Ibanez’s ninth signature model for legendary guitarist. This stunning piece features an alder body, a Wizard five-piece maple and walnut neck, and an ebony fretboard that bears an etched Tree of Life inlay. The axe is outfitted with a set of DiMarzio pups in a unique HSH configuration. Two Evolution humbuckers feature at the neck and bridge, while an Evolution single-coil takes its place in the middle. Rounding off the guitar’s features are an Edge tremolo bridge and gold hardware. Joe Satriani JS1CR The chrome-covered JS1CR is also the ninth Ibanez signature model for Joe Satriani. It features an alder body, a JS three-piece maple and bubinga neck, and a 9.84-inch-radius rosewood fretboard. Satch opted for a simpler pickup configuration than his G3 collaborator: a Sustainiac Driver single-coil at the neck and a DiMarzio Satchur8 humbucker at the bridge. ----- Interestingly, with some exceptions (like the Satriani beast), most of these are under $2,000.00.
  11. Love the olive strat. Nash makes one that's like an olive drab like Vietnam-era uniforms. It's pretty badass too.
  12. Uh, ok. The "RAT Tail Distortion Cable"
  13. More amp/line selector overload. Pretty cool, but Radial makes these things with all the bells and whistles. Radial Twin City ABY is $169.00 and they make two other versions for $99.00. The Radial Switchbone ABY/C is comprable to that Morley ABC, but a little less expensive ($20 or so). Regardless, I trust Morley's products are top notch.
  14. Sweetwater, you fucking pricks. You houdini'd all my image postings. Oh well, it's all available at their site and Blackstar's too.
  15. NAMM 2019: Earthquaker Devices "Swiss Things" This looks awesome but I think I'd need about 15 hours or so to figure it out. Here’s what the footswitches do: 1. Loop 1: Press this to engage Loop 1. It features Flexi-Switch™ Technology and is unbuffered for use with all distortion, overdrive, and fuzz pedals, or anything else that doesn’t like being buffered. 2. Loop 2: Press this to engage Loop 2. It also features Flexi-Switch™ Technology and is buffered for use with time-based effects (delay, reverb, modulation, etc.). Note: when nothing is plugged into Loop 2, it functions as a mute. 3. Boost: press this to activate the boost. It is Flexi-Switch™ Technology enabled and provides up to 20dB of clean boost post-effects loops and is intended for use as an output booster. 4. A/B: selects between Output A and Output B. Note: Output B is transformer-isolated and includes a Phase switch for use with pedals and/or amplifiers which invert phase. 5. Both: activates Output A and Output B at the same time and features Flexi-Switch™ Technology Here’s what the input, output, send, return, and expression jacks are for: 6. Input: plug your instrument in here. Note: If you have any “always-on” pedals (compressors, preamps, EQs, etc.) place them before Swiss Things’ input. 7. Loop 1 Send: Plug this into the input of the first pedal in the octave/overdrive/distortion/fuzz section of your board. 8. Loop 1 Return: Plug the output of the last pedal of the octave/overdrive/distortion/fuzz section into this jack. 9. Loop 2 Send: Plug this into the input of the first pedal in the modulation section of your board. 10. Loop 2 Return: Plug the output of the last pedal of your modulation section into this jack. 11. Tuner Output: Connect this to the input of your tuner. Note: Tuner must be always turned on. If you bypass your tuner, you may experience ground loops or hum. 12. Volume EXP: Connect any expression pedal to this output to control volume. Note: Most volume pedals create “tone-suck” by loading the signal down and have limited travel. This solves that problem with a buffered output and allows you to use any expression pedal with the same results. The expression jack is placed after the “dirt” effects loop (Loop 1) which allows you to change volume levels without affecting gain. 13. Output A: connect this to the input of your amplifier. 14. Output B: connect this to the input of a separate amplifier to use multiple amps and/or to play in stereo. Note: To use Swiss Things with stereo effects, they should be placed after Outputs A & B and both outputs must be selected using the Both switch. Note: Output B is transformer-isolated and includes a Phase switch for use with pedals and/or amplifiers which invert phase. Note: To use stereo effects after Swiss Things, do not have the Phase switch engaged otherwise the L & R inputs of your stereo effects will be out of phase.
  16. Supro guitar offering - 1961 style Dual Tone This is badass: Another notable player...
  17. EHX is putting out their own strings. These guys almost never strike out, even with their non-effects products (speakers, microphones, and especially their vacuum tubes), so I'm going to snag some pairs and see how they sound.
  18. NAMM tease This looks freaking sweet. If I understand this correctly, Dunlop owns the Uni-Vibe brand/trademark but this company, who designed the original, still makes their own version. They just can't call it a "Uni-Vibe." Beware: this is going to be expensive AF.
  19. So... Fender bought the Bigsby brand and assets. Very interesting. Fender acquires Bigsby from Gretsch
  20. NAMM 2019: Red Witch’s Fuzz God III packs 64 fuzz combinations into one mini pedal. They aren't being too modest about it, e.g., calling it the "FUZZ GOD III." Also: For only $129.99, this is worth taking a flyer on it. I'm kind of familiar with Red Witch pedals, but this seems pretty different from the other stuff they've done. They got crazy with the dip switches.
  21. New Blackstar // NAMM 2019 As per usual with Blackstars - they're dirt cheap: $549.00 for the head; $599.00 for the combo; $379 for the cab Head HT-212V MkII vertical cab Open/Closed back design Combo Video
  22. Saw this in the NAMM 2019 news feed.
  23. MOAR NAMM!!!!
