Here's a good article about Google's longstanding persecution of Christian conservatives.

Its really very, very intentional. The 30-40% that lap up the dog shit that spews from his mouth will honestly believe DACA has become about stopping illegals at the border.
He's basically talking about it as if it's this broad running amnesty bill that is in effect to any person currently arriving in the US. Even if DACA applied to illegals arriving in the US today, which it does NOT, it would still only apply to children. There are mobs of children arriving at the border to take advantage? Or adults are trying to come in so their kids get the benefit of DACA but the kids are essentially orphaned when their parents get deported?
-
"These big flows of people are all trying to take advantage of DACA. They want in on the act!"
When you unpack all of the implications from this stupid little 2-sentence tweet, it is mind-blowing: the Fox News feedback loop, his utter miscomprehension of DACA and immigration laws (or really, ANY laws), who is eligible for DACA, his willingness to make sweeping generalizations based simply on his perceived beliefs, etc.

Somewhere out in the universe there are aliens that can bend spacetime with their minds and have IQs that can't even be measured by human metrics.
And man are we going to look especially pathetic when they come visit and see a bunch of talking apes fighting about infinitesimal differences between them and which arbitrary group is the "best."

Let's assume that there is a statistically significant difference between white people and black people in terms of cognitive ability. Some scientist comes along and proves that this difference is purely genetic and upbringing, nutrition, or any external factors are irrelevant. It's undeniable.
Racists would immediately seize it to argue that white supremacy, racism in public institutions, poverty, and such aren't keeping black folks down; it's a result of blacks not having those magic extra 10 IQ points that white people have on average. That's a lot less nefarious than using it to justify slavery or genocide, but the intent is still malicious.
Continuing with the assumption though, wouldn't the ethical response be the total opposite? Wouldn't decent Christian folks at least subscribe to some kind of well-intended-but-still-racist "white man's burden" type of view?
As long as you concede that blacks are fellow humans, wouldn't there be a moral obligation to empower blacks and give them extra advantages and special accommodations? I mean, we want disabled people to be able to have the fullest lives possible and achieve self-actualization. We have laws in place to protect these genetically shortchanged people. We try to remove barriers but also give direct assistance and aid to them.
I find it telling that 0.00% of people cite these studies to advance even an attempt at an ethical (albeit patronizing and misguided) position like the one above. When in the context of politics and policy, they are used to either absolve past crimes by the "superior" race or justify future ones. Whether the science is reliable or not, cheapening life and dehumanizing "other" is, historically, the prelude to every genocide that has ever occurred.

I'm a Stop Making Sense guy.
The Last Waltz and Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii come next. I've seen the latter at least 25 times.
Some of my other favorites: Rattle and Hum, A Poem is a Naked Person, Woodstock (though they definitely needed to cut that movie down in time), Alice in Chains Unplugged, The Song Remains the Same, Heartworn Highways (not quite a concert movie though).

I see many people die because they judge that life is not worth living. I see others paradoxically getting killed for the ideas or illusions that give them a reason for living (what is called a reason for living is also an excellent reason for dying). - Albert Camus

If we're posting music, I got one for y'all. This is my #1 all time song when it comes to capturing the suicidal madness and quest for oblivion I had when my drinking was at its worst. I was hurtling toward the earth at terminal velocity and my response was to just drink harder and faster. The lyrics are spot on and I love everything about the arrangement, especially the "flat tire" drum beat and the guitar accompanying the vocal melody. When he starts screaming "to where the morning don't come" at the end I get chills every time.
"I should have died a hundred thousand times..."

I was only around 13 or 14 when Jerry died but I saw "The Dead" incarnation three times.
Spicewood, TX / Willie's Picnic / July 4, 2003 - The second set opened with Jack Straw and after some rain, it began clearing up and a rainbow appeared behind the audience, which Bob Weir pointed out. Then, everyone went "whoa" when they sang , in Texas, on July 4th: "Leaving Texas / fourth day of July-y..." Willie came out and played on El Paso. I thought Joan Osbourne was great.
Oakland, CA / The Arena / December 31, 2003 - We got up right near the stage for this New Year's Eve show. They played Sugar Magnolia at midnight and Bill Walton assisted on drums. Dark Star sounded great. There were some loooong jams, e.g., Playing in the Band -> The Wheel -> Playing in the Band jam. I had "too much too fast" toward the end of the first set and passed out. A friend took me to the bathroom to splash some water on my face and a guy in the "500 Club" hung out with me in the concourse area while my head cleared. Only missed one song, thankfully.
Morrison, CO / Red Rocks / June 19, 2004 - Warren Haynes had replaced Jimmy Herring at the beginning of this 2004 tour. Huge fucking upgrade. Hey Pocky Way was lights out. Broken Arrow cover was wonderful. The setlist had Lady with a Fan/Terrapin and Weather Report Suite/Let it Grow. I found out the next morning my grandfather had passed away the night before, probably around the time they were closing with Touch of Grey. He had been in the Civilian Conservation Corps when he was younger, the same New Deal program that constructed Red Rocks amphitheater.

Say what?!?!?!?
Donald Trump 2018
in Cloak Room
Posted
If not the media, you'd think at least the Democrats would be doing this. I think that type of messaging could be the difference between taking the house and motherfuckin storming the house.
Either way, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio, and various other less-important Congresscritter sycophants need to be relentlessly labeled as collaborators and apologists to the point that the Trumpstink will never wash off of them, ever. Paul Ryan needs to be voted out of Congress like a hooker getting shuffled out of Trump's hotel room with a fistful of sweaty money. And as Ryan picks up his balled-up pink lace panties off the floor and begins his walk of shame back to Wisconsin, he will feel the humiliation and shame that only someone that has been fucked by Trump can feel.
