  1. yeah part of me thinks Sark saw Bryce Young at 5' 10", 204 lbs and thought he could do something with that.
  2. Deboer may not live that one down. He seems like a great kid with a big future, Mack-Russell battle will be interesting if they can keep both. I like our room the way its laid out, hopefully we can spread them out aok. Id like to see what Lacy can do vs Michigan.
  3. Looks like a great kid to do that. Leader.
  4. As I recall, Sayin left pretty soon after Saban retired and he and Deboer only overlapped by a week. Think Saban's departure had more to do with it than Deboer picking the current guy over him. Arch to Texas solidified Sayin to Bama IIRC, otherwise he may have ended up here or UGA. KJ Lacy to Texas left them going after Russell. I was hoping we had waited on Russell personally, hes much bigger. Time will tell on both of course. I agree with the above comments that Russell being the incumbent will be risky busiess for Deboer in a pivotal year for Bama. I could see them going strong in the portal at QB and letting the Russell story play out. The risk there is they go in the portal, Russell leaves and they sustain an injury or mis-eval in the portal. Texas with Arch, Lacy and Bell appears to be a more solid plan. Dont know Bama's roster as well, but next year will be an interesting one.
  5. BYU and UVA? I could see that happening if they both win. Winning JMU would be out in that scenario. Miami was at 12 with a solid W, so they need Bama to lose, UVA and Tech to win. Im not holding out any hope for Texas. One too many losses outweighing our 3 solid Wins.
  6. I thought your post inferred it wouldnt matter for UNT or Tulane if JMU win; meaning JMU would take the G5 spot. There is another variable and that is UVA/Duke. If JMU wins and UVA loses, both JMU and one of the G5 teams would both get in, so in that way, JMU winning wouldnt knock UNT/Tulane out
  7. This is wrong. The 5 highest ranked conf champs are in, JMU being one if UVA loses AND another G5 team (guaranteed)
  8. CFP rules states highest ranked 5 conf champs. Bama has to hope like hell BYU and Duke dont win. Hell if UVA wins, they may take Bama's spot.
  9. Its more about Duke and BYU winning and knocking out Bama. In that scenario JMU assuming they win would be 5th highest ranked conf champ and another G5 guaranteed team will get in. JMU being a top 5 conference champ AND the G5. Rules are rules IU, tOSU, Oregon, Tech, UGA, OU, JMU, G5, Tamu, Ole Miss, B12Champ BYU, Notre Dame
  10. Great game Sark!
  11. Very cool. Having grown up in Southern California prior to my dad relocating us to Dallas, I appreciate pictures from Catalina. My family and I once boated from Balboa to Catalina and overnighted with family friends. They kept their boat in Newport and i recall it being one of the great "adventures" of my young life at that time. This was early 80's. Great experience.
  12. Of course. Hopefully Sark will learn from this season, with the portal, always have to work it and then some.
  13. He will certainly be under the “hot seat” moniker with a year older Arch, Buckeyes at home and in his 6th year at the helm. Should be a year he breaks through, I’d take F4 as the floor
  14. Great team win. On to the Aggies.
  15. Marjorie (no CR), that you?
  16. Im not so sure about that. Old Big12 with Nebraska, sure, especially after breaking their long home winning streak 2x, going 9-1 against them and beating them in St Louis, 1 second game etc...then of course the two Texas schools Baylor, Tech , we were their Super Bowl. When we announced leaving, the vitriol from the league office, the officiatiing. KSU always played up for us. In the SEC, I feel they are way more deferential. There is a certain level of respect from my interactions working in several SEC states on a weekly basis and interacting with them. We came into a league with a pre-set enemies (Bama vs Tenn, Auburn and LSU...UGA - FL, Egg Bowl etc..) that IMO we are not viewed with as much annumus like it was in the B12. They are glad we are here b/c it elevates the conference to whole new level. Gun to head, I bet the average SEC fan would have preferred to keep the SEC as it was, but they are not "mad" at us coming in like it was when the Big8 and SWC formed. We didnt break up rivalries in the SEC in the same way. In some ways, the SEC teams are glad they aren't playing some of the teams on a regular basis, its tough enough already is the sentiment i get.
  17. Wont be easy, no doubt. @ IU, OU or GaTech. Those are winnable. @Tamu or UGA again, sure those would be brutal. Id be up for it though, we just need to get in first. We haven't played to our potential all season. Playoffs is a whole new ballgame. A road team is bound to breakthrough, why not us.
  18. Texas with another shot at redemption, I would take that in a minute...only one of two to make 3 straight playoffs would be awesome. Texas would be a tough out IF we could get in. You take your chances in playoffs vs a bowl all day long.
  19. IF and its a big if we go 2-0 to close out (with convincing wins would help)@ 9-3 may get us in. Im not saying the likelihood is great b/c of our body of work up to this point, but a Bama loss to Auburn would give them the same # of losses and 2 worse losses than ours. Its a small window, but its still open. In no particular order this could happen: TAMU, UGA,tOSU, IU, OU, Notre Dame, Tech, ACC, Group of Five, Ole Miss, Texas, Oregon (Byu loses to Cincy would be 10-2 and Bama loses to Auburn would be 9-3) . We would jump Utah imo. A Mizzou win at Norman would help too.
  20. Thanks i just watched it. A lot of smoke for sure. Would Lincoln Riley be in play if that post is true? Sounds like Franklin is out of the market and Lane will be forced to make a decision prior to Egg Bowl
  21. Fair enough. I didnt Howard's post. Ill look for it. I do agree his overall leadership as per the items mentioned is leaving a lot to be desired.
  22. Have you looked at q3? UGA 3 and out....next drive UGA Intercepted by Hill and then we get to their 3rd possession and the fateful 4th and 5. We shut them down coming out of half and were down 4 getting the ball back. Wheels came off in q4. Because we dropped the ball 4-5 times when Arch put it on the money. That is not on Sark. Moore , the TE, Wingo needs to make the play on the deep ball and needs to not trip over grass. Sark has dialed it up all year and he doesnt deserve to be fired which is what a poster upthread eluded to.
  23. Coaches don't care about that. UF is in worse shape administratively. Kiffin doesn't care about that, $12-$15M per year with that recruiting ground and base, he'd kill it there imo.
  24. Understood, but the ones that matter (ie the committee) thought enough of our body of work to put us there despite that. We're in that game save the offsides and we will never know what could have been, point is we got blown out in the 4th and at least had a chance before the offsides. You dont fire Sark over it, that's fools game. Let the man reorganize and retool.
