  1. Riley strikes me as an un-serious head football coach, good for him I guess. I hate OU as much as anyone, but when you leave OU for LA and USC, that tells me it was a money grab and lifestyle (for all its issues, Southern California offers a lot) and not about legacy and performing at the highest level. I get that USC is a blue blood and he figured he'd spend 100% of his time in the West when he made the move...but a grinder, a serious coach stays at OU to continue what had been a solid multi-year run. He's young, he's a finesse guy and he does not have what it takes to be elite. Look at Kirby, Sark to a degree, Oregon's coach, even Day, Franklin (I know I know big games) ,but Riley looks like the pussy compared to those guys.
  2. @ Louisville was a good win. @Cuse will be interesting as will GaTech if King is back which is possible

    Florida Gators

Top UF DB Marshall is now out for the year: Marshall was having a great bounce-back season after a disappointing 2023 campaign, and while Florida has other corners they feel okay about, Marshall was far and away their best in 2024. https://hailfloridahail.com/two-key-injuries-leave-florida-football-shorthanded-against-georgia-01jbh8aq7yh8
  4. I believe this is the way. At the risk of going CR, i agree wholeheartedly that if she wins, the R's wont have to kiss the ring anymore or be beholden to you know who.
  5. we need a more catchy name to drive traffic.....how about Sixth Street Journal
  6. Refresh my memory, why wasn't the abuse information/allegation/defense allowed in the 2nd trial? IIRC, the one brother went and did an interview for a book he was writing and he stated in those taped interviews that he made it all up...all the abuse. So even his defense knew it was all bs.
  7. The way I see it....TN is at UGA and UGA will likely win, or we have to hope. I believe Bama will lose to at LSU, a third SEC L dooms them. At OU will be no walk in the park. IU will lose 2 games, at tOSU and one other. And if not, if PSU loses to tOSU also, they would back door in to at large having not made Indy. IMO IU would be out with 2L. IU's schedule was ridiculous. BIG is not getting 4 imo in that scenario. We have to go at least 3-1 and I believe we would be at large. If Ole Miss wins out, they would have a W vs UGA and it would be Aggies and Rebels in ATL. Conference realignment has created an incredible amount of conference drama for November.
  8. Right there with you, im working from home today still recuperating. @brojangles2 yes!
  9. Quinn's average depth of target is 5.9 yards. One of the lowest , if not the lowest , in all of P4. Interestingly, Patrick Mahomes is also 6 yards, near the bottom of NFL. Its being posted around X.
  10. Glad we get UF a week after they play UGA, but then we get Arky coming off a bye. Last 4 games are going to be brutal, a lot tougher than when the schedule came out. 3-1 would feel good and may be enough to get us in. I like the team overall a lot, but man our margin error is thin.
  11. You nailed it, completely agree...we had many of the same sentiments. The band at Tootsies downstairs passed the bucket and we chipped in, though my request of LA Freeway was met with a blank stair. We saw Roger, his wife and one of the sons (the one playing on the mini-tour) at the Marriott right outside the stadium. Got a picture, he was super cool about it. Lots of Texas fans in the lobby bar.
  12. Agreed, i watched most of their game with South Carolina. SC had 2 pick-6 called back, one of which was very late in the game to extend their lead. The Defender unnecessarily blind side blocked the QB. SC grabbed an L from the jaws of victory and gifted the W to LSU.
  13. Thought our D played really well, especially considering Vandy's all upperclassmen OL. The backup QB is a burner. The trick play on 4th down was clever and would have worked if the WR had his shoulders square with LOS. I didnt realize that was a thing. Game could have turned on the Ant Hill dropped INT. Think they scored on that drive, he got a hand on it and looked like he could have secured it. The roughing on our DL was huge too, that makes the game look more lopsided. Overall pleased with the W. On the long ball to the left, that was ugly, looked like he threw it to the outside and our WR was more inside, looked like a duck.
  14. Section S row 49, my nuts were splitting the 50. The stadium amenities were a joke, very few consessions. Missed 2nd half KO waiting for beer, of which you could only get 2 at a time , so we had to pair up for every round (4 in our party). Had to go back in Q3 for the pisser, not the end of world. Entrance into stadium was a breeze. Got a pre game picture with The Rocket at the Marriott next to stadium. Exited behind the Texas Visitors side and the route took us through the outfield of the baseball field which was cool. Walked all the way back to barstools for bar food and to meet up with our ladies. Nashville is a great city and I’ll go to every football game we play there. if I was in my 20’s and out of college , I’d live there in a minute. Feels like a cleaner, newer Austin. Broadway was a major tourist trap but all the bars were packed, 3-4 stories each and seemed fine for what they are. There is very little “country music “ played on Broadway, nor any “2 -steppin” establishments. It’s all rock and roll, dj, club feel. Closest thing we could find to a traditional county bar was tootsies and it was tiny (in the front room), maybe we missed them , but we hit up 5-8 bars over the weekend hoping to do a little dancin’ 34th floor of JW was great. Went to a cool hotel rooftop bar, LA Jackson, in the Gulch before dinner at Barcelona. Hampton Social for brunch pre-game. Walked from there to stadium , where we saw Rodger and one of his boys drinking beers. overall great trip.
  15. 30 miles south of Nashville, had business in muscle Shoals yesterday. Looking forward to my first trip to Nashville. if anybody’s at the JW Marriott, holla. . We have about 10 or 12 Exes in our group.
  16. My brother is DFD Chief. I had not heard about this one. 3 alarm is no joke.
  17. He is also being held on felony gun charge, according to the article linked above: Brad Simpson remains in the Bexar County jail on two misdemeanor charges – a domestic violence charge and an unlawful restraint charge. Court records also show he faces a federal felony charge for illegally owning a firearm.
  18. Understood, but her tireless work and dogged determination on the case is widely recognized as having helped identify the killer. Her team finalized it as I recall.
  19. Without a doubt. I read a book recently called Ill Be Gone In The Dark written by Patton Oswalt's wife (name escapes me) about the original GSK; went decades before she solved the case(s). Random killings collar rate is very low.
  20. Got my flu shot last Thursday, felt sluggish Friday, but all good. I get a flu shot every year and i may have doubled up during the Covid years dont really remember.
  21. I watched the YouTube video up thread about not talking to the police. If my wife disappeared and I didnt do it, then Im at least giving them a timeline of what and where Ive been (with supporting facts, receipts, who i was with etc..). Despite the usual line of questions like " how was your marriage" (well duh its great but we've been married for 25 years and its not perfect), I feel pretty certain my alibi and the facts wont hurt me. I could be naive , but if you are innocent, the facts are the easiest thing to remember. Where were you , who were you with, that's cake to answer. I always have the right to remain silent if they start leading down a path of trying to put words in my mouth. The initial act of cooperation and the obvious signs of concern I believe will be seen as being in my favor. JMO. Now, if you didnt kill her AND you have a suspect character, background, were doing nefarious shit, then yeah lawyer up...but guys like Scott Peterson, the cop from IL years back that killed 2 wives, and any of a dozen Dateline husbands should have heeded the dont talk advice.
  22. As far as i know , yeah he seems to have come out the other end aok. Owns a gym and takes people on hikes all over the country, kind of became a Zen master or some such. Coincidentally to the OP, believe he is in San Antonio. With a felony on his record, im sure his financial capabilities and other limitations that come with that will be somewhat limited, but at least he is a contributing member of society. He would be appx 50 by now and not sure how long he did time for.
  23. ZBT had one too, circa '92...guy robbed a bank on the Drag. Big article in The Texas Monthly about it not long after the conviction. He's out now and doing OK.
