  1. If we dont make the tournament, I would be surprised if he's back. The fact we had a tournament W last year, may factor in. He had a solid run with Beard's team in the interim year. Barnes blew us out by 16 in last year's R2. If he whiffs this year, which is looking likely, I can see where he would get canned, especially if we only win like 3 games in conference. If Beard had shown any contrition, the play would have been to suspend him for 30-60 pending some type rehab/legal process I suppose; but there were no good options with whole deal. RT is not a championship level coach imo and CDC has repeatedly said we play for Championships (Conference or National) at Texas. Not sure where he would look given our history. Barnes and Shaka moving on and having success is not a good look for MBB program.
  2. Yes it is. We did that run early in the day and loved it. It was a guys trip with about 8 of us.....varying degrees of skill level, and for sure varying degrees of cardio endurance. Anyway, one of our buddies had to join us at lunch and we all bragged on that run and talked it up. So he's all fresh and says lets do it again. Keep in mind im in good shape so no worries there, but some of the others not so much but we all agreed to do it later if we had time. I could tell some of the guys were kind of bailing toward the end of the day and about half of us headed toward the run (and hike!). We were pushing it toward 4pm and we had to hustle to get to the bottom (you know how long a run that is) so we could take that lift back up and traverse to the Snowmass Village base , ski rental return and vehicle..... needless to say, we were in go mode, but we had some 50+ newbies in tow. A couple of the novice guys were really struggling and they sent us on ahead , knowing they would just have to get a ride back, no way they would make 4 pm cutoff. So 3-4 of us boogie down and wait right until 4pm for them to come barrelling down. We were having fun with the Lift Operator flirting with her to hold the chair and sure enough here comes our 3 old timer beginner buddies just hauling ass down like bats out of hell and we all hit cutoff at 4. Good times, we laughed all night about those guys coming in hot. It was so funny watching them come down , we got on the lift when we pointed out our buddies and were above them as passed under....we were laughing our asses off
  3. No, but I was on line recently and i was very impressed with the look. I wore cap toe AE dress shoes for years, before switching to J&M (yes i still suit up every day). The AE ropers I saw favored my Luchesse (sp) calf skin and looked sharp. I would like to see them in person, but I dont have a store near me,
  4. Glad to hear that. I was there last Feb (about a year ago). Loved that run. What a terrific , long , diverse run.....if im remembering correctly of course. Is that the one where you ski down to it through to the right off the lift a bit, then hike up a decent incline? The run ends on the far left (If your looking at a map) of the resort.
  5. Sark mentioned it in the presser a day or two after the game, but losing possessions had as much to do with the running game not getting started. 1. Opening drive, 2 pass plays TD (a great thing) 2. ASU fake punt , lose a possession there 3. Stop on 4th down at goal line, next play fumble, safety lose ball 4. Punt return TD (a great thing) lose a possession The other one that I didnt hear him discuss in much detail is the Int. play to Bond deep down the middle...we were up pretty solidly with a chance to put the game away as we were starting to get some runs going on the drive. So the run game woes in the ASU were somewhat masked by the game flow; not excusing it, but for me there is a difference between an excuse and a reason.
  6. There is a pretty deep New Orleans connection (as transactional as it may be) with MB and the Mannings. That’s one reason we were in it for Eli (Cutcliff connection was too strong in the end). Having done business in NO , the Tulane years is the genesis of the relationship. FWIW
  7. Agreed. If he (and I imagine he can) can get $6m from USC or Oregon (It’s rumored to be B1G) he’d be a fool to not take it and I wouldn’t blame him one bit. Before that report , I figured he was NFL bound for sure. But the NIL era has benefited him immensely and with his lack of mobility and injury prone career, take the $6m and enjoy another year on the college tit
  8. I was at the Shoe in '05 with a ton of Texas fans from all over the country and your fan base is/was awful to our traveling party. The walk (since there was no transportation I guess) back to the downtown hotel was an embarrassment. Im sure all teams have their share, but man what a disgrace. I can handle the words, insults etc..but when it crosses over to physical intimidation of obviously older people, that's pretty bad. You seem fine and I appreciate you wanting to talk ball, but just know there is a % of this community that experienced a pretty awful Buckeye nation. If it was confined to after the game, one could almost understand, but it was all day non-stop your buddies trying to start shit.
  9. True that I suppose. No , really there are quite a few. TN, Clemson, SMU, Penn St, ASU, of course UGA...thats off the top of my head. IU, NDU, Texas, tOsu, UO all gone. Not sure about Boise.
  10. Really liked her in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, she stole every scene. Very Funny. RIP to her husband.
  11. How would you handicapp Moore's decision? He was a stud for us this year, any chance he returns?
  12. Hard not to see a lot of Bryce Young in KJ.
  13. Got a daughter and her friends at the game.
  14. Agree 100%. And I’ll add the venue is/was unlike any other in sports, perhaps the Masters is an apt analogy. The Rose Bowl is a character in the story. Pasadena , the fact that VY had a record performance one year prior. All that you mentioned is spot on plus add the Rose Bowl, the grand-daddy of them all. If it was the fiesta or cotton , it would not have contributed to the build up like the Rose Bowl, for that given game, given all that USC was about for a decade in that town. Remember LA was floundering sports city while the Trojans were running herd on the cfb landscape.
  15. oh yeah, true, duh, forgot about that.
  16. im crying , that was funny as shit.
  17. 7 teams still with players possibly entering , so we will see. Can only hope.
  18. Me too. Only thing more aggravating is the 15 yard return married to a "holding by the return team, half the distance to goal" start, when we could have just sat on it and had the ball at the 25.
  19. Got family in Sandpoint...always enjoy my visits there. They also have land in Clark, MT (about an hour away), on the Clark Fork River , right before the Dam at the lake. Cool area, we had a bear in the camp a couple years ago , but no problems as they spooked and ran. I didnt see him, but my dad did.
  20. CSB...my cousin went to Humboldt State, forestry school. Grew up in Long Beach and headed north after a couple of years at Long Beach CIty College (locals call it City).
  21. Up there with Giles, Dronett, Jeter and Patton
  22. I like how he covered the ball with 2 hands at initial contact
  23. Believe that was the game Mack’s stepson touched a live ball in the field of play negating a chance at a fumble recovery. Game was out hand at that point. ASU was talking a lot of shit leading up to that game. I seem to recall they were a fringe top 10 team that year.
