  1. A few questions for those more in know:

    1. Is the Purdue DT another Trill Carter or is he a more complete prospect?  IIRC Carter was a multi-year starter, maybe even 2nd team all BIG at one point...is the Purdue kid seen as a better prospect?  The DT transfers-in this year have been solid for the most part.

    2. Same question for the UCF DT

    2. What's the feeling on Trey Moore?  Returning or Draft?  Would love to have him back.  Dont recall if he walked on SR. night.

    3. Are the Texas players Texas  that portaled staying on the team through the end of the season, but are making it  known now they will be leaving?  Of all the guys, I know not many play a ton...just thinking about practice depth, late game subs (especially at DT) in the fortunate event we are up big and can rest guys (would obviously be a complete luxury to have that problem)

    4. Havent heard of any RB transfer portal visits...my feeling is we need a back, given Blue's status as a portal risk/fumble issues, Baxter/Clark injuries, unproven depth, can Gibson be the guy etc... after DT, this need is most glaring imo

I think Colin Simmons is the Trey Moore replacement.

Trey Moore back for another year would be ideal.  Simmons, Burke and Moore. With Lance Jackson on deck, maybe Vasek gets it together too. DL would be looking good , especially if the Purdue DT commits along with one or two others

This would be a huge pick up for us. Starter from day 1, add him to the RB room with Trey and Gibson, bring Baxter along slowly, plus the Freshmen.  Assuming Blue goes pro.  I think we need a back in the portal given the current ceiling/injury status of guys on campus.

It's funny - it's not as pathetic as sending the university president up to get Sterlin Gilbert, but they're basically doing the equivalent by ensuring he goes there by hiring his OC and QB coach.

Literally tailoring the OC/QB coach for one specific transfer while ignoring that they have basically no OL, WR or RB talent.

I bet they lose the FR QB who played this year.

I would look weird to go on and win the Title and still have to move on from Quinn...

    But fuck it.

Hes going to the NFL.  My gut tells me 3rd-4th round.  Nice signing bonus, 3 year deal rookied min at $450K or whatever it is.  Goes to a team with proven starter in those rounds...gets to his second contract and lives a nice life with several million banked.  Colt, Sam , hell even Gilbert are sitting comfortably.

Curious about Horns DL depth in playoffs???

Curious too.  Does Sark allow the transfers to stay on the team until end of season?  AZ St Dillingham is allowing it.

Is that supposed to be a compliment?  Because I don't think it is.

I mean, I don't recall Sark gettng all emotional and deciding to run a poorly-advised play on 4th down...

Dan Lanning is a cold blooded killer and if you are focusing on one play to define him, you are making a big mistake.  Sark coached a hell of a game Saturday night and several of is in-game strategy calls out foxed Elko.  Just like Lanning has done this year time and again.

Coach said Ewer practiced in full today, expect no difference for this week than Saturday.

He said Banks is very similar to Ewers status last week - never said what the specific injury is but I assume another high ankle sprain given the boot.

Im no doctor, but looked more to me like "bruised achilles".  IIRC it wasn't as much of a sprain or turn of the ankle but more a ton of weight coming down on the back of his lower leg above the foot, but fuck if I know.

I am assuming we subbed right away but aggy waited a bunch before sending their player on specifically to try to get the delay.  It only works if the offensive team subs late then you can do the "fat man sub delay" trick.  of course aggy outsmarted themselves.

Yeah, Sark out-coached the hell out of Elko.  Sark milked a timeout out of them when he sent Arch out for the second time.  IIRC Elko burned at least 2 timeouts for no reason over the course of the game.  Really impressed by Sark's Lanning-esque coaching Saturday night.  He was really dialed in, even from the gameday interview, that i assume was pre-recorded, he was all business.

Sorry to break it to some of y’all, but we just might “Quinn sucks-We can’t blow anyone out-the offense is too hot-and-cold-special teams gives me high blood pressure” all the way to a Natty. 🤘

In other words QE might herp derp us to a natty like ol’ case.  Would that be something.

My first choice in this game would be a never in doubt blowout from the first kick for the good guys.  However, a scenario of us ahead 27-17 with 1 second left, them with the ball, and we let them score and let them get the 2 pt. conversion to end the game 27-25 could be the most hilarious thing ever.

I was told there would be no math

2002.  I remember being in awe at the Superdome because they served alcohol.  Dudes in the row behind us bought a case of beer from a vendor and started passing them out to everyone around them.  Good times.  Tulane kicked off one time, which tells the story of the game.  Simms, Benson, Selvin Young had decent days.

Same , I was there.  We kicked the dog out of them.

I had no idea Texas played at Hawaii. That's awesome.

BC and UDub would both be fun away games, though lower tier P5s like BC are a no-win proposition to play.

Back then you had to read the magazines to get news on recruits.  I remember Mackovic securing Ricky's committment and the subsequent write up in Athlons gave us all hope.  I used to go to Barnes and Noble on my lunch break and read the magazines front to back for any mention of Texas recruits.  Back then FSU, MIami, Notre Dame got all the good Texas kids.

Dallas morning news would also do lists, 1 for National, 1 for "regional" or conference and 1 for State only.  We always had 1 or 2 on the national list....Lovell Pinkney was a big WR out of DC we were also super hopeful about and of course Ricky.
