  1. Totally random thought and one which is probably rooted in confirmation bias, but is there a reason the majority of winter cold fronts tend to pass through Central Texas in the middle of the night? I swear, almost all of our real cold blasts these past few years have occurred in the middle of the night.
  2. Fucccckk this. Just turned it off 40 mins in. This doc was way too disturbing for this father of a young daughter. I feel ill having watched that.
  3. What others have said here is pretty spot on. Netflix is a nice introduction into the event, very surface level, whereas Hulu is more in depth. Hulu also doves much deeper into the social aspect of everything which makes you ragey for society. I preferred the Netflix “style” more as I thought the interviewers made for better characters (sans Billy) but the Hulu version was equally as good in different ways. Definitely recommend watching both though.
  4. At the 4:08 mark there is a house which is, quite literally, on fire.
  5. Finished both Frye docs. I had no idea I could dislike social “influencers” any more than I already did.
  6. Local businesses (Capitol Chevrolet is the worst) which repeatedly and proudly proclaim “veterans are always welcome!” Yea, no shit? Are there businesses out there which I’m unaware of who are actively resisting business to former service members?
  7. Yeaaaaa the NFL is going to have an official problem on their hand after today.
  8. Yea, the Mueller rebuttal is very...odd. Not sure what to think, but I can’t imagine things are as “good” as we thought they were earlier today.
  9. Love D.C. when it’s blanketed in snow.
  10. Lulz at the 3-4 posters who weren’t in until they saw a 50-second trailer where absolutely nothing happens.
  11. The iconic “Roundball Rock” theme song by John Tesh was purchased by Fox Sports last month and will be used for Fox’s CBB games. It’s going to take some getting use to but I’m glad it’s back. Oblig SNL spot:
  12. Completion of this relatively simple urban construction project has taken approximately 2.5x longer than anticipated. And it’s still not done. That’s criminal.
  13. Because he was a former coach at Baylor and Baylor has proven they pay big money for coaches. Unfortunately for him however, his name was <cough>allegedly<cough> littered throughout the Pepper Hamilton report therefore he’ll never step foot in Waco again. On a separate note, I just don’t get the Rhule love. Is he a good coach? Probably but the jury is still out. But if I were a GM and wanting to the CFB route since that’s apparently the hottest thing right now, there are about 30 CFB coaches I’d want over him.
  14. They were picked poorly but rightfully so. They are not a good team.
  15. What’s the consensus on booger Macfarand? Do people like his commentary?
  16. Or lunch or snack or whatever. Probably the best Mediterranean I’ve had.
  17. I’m not sure that’s right. I remember the docu staring Dassey was at least an 81. An IQ of 70 would be notably lower than Forest Gump.
  18. Finished S2 yesterday and now I’m all ragey again. I plan on listening to the rebuttal podcast because I fully realize Netflix has largely released a fairly one-sided story but...what the shite Manitowoc? A few thoughts: Watching SA’s parents, especially his father, is heartbreaking. I’m afraid they won’t be around by the time their son’s conviction is overturned. Zellner and her team are fantastic. I’d imagine she’s largely working pro bono but this series has easily earned her millions, perhaps tens of millions, in PR. The phone call between SA and Barb in the final episode was crazy intense. Lastly, maybe the series addressed this in S1 and I can’t recall but has SA’s IQ ever been addressed? He’s no doubt about as weird as they come but I can’t shake the feeling he’s much “smarter” than he leads on. Maybe it’s because he’s surrounded by a generally low-IQ family but I think there’s something there, I just can’t put my finger on it.
  19. Briles will never be an HC in CFB again and deservedly so. He’s beyond radioactive.
  20. Lulz, this is bad. Like potentially historically bad. The CFB fan in me at least wants a competitive game.
