  1. Well, that’s about the most Erlich Bachman thing I’ve ever read.
  2. Def give S2 a try. It departs almost completely from the noir style of S1 and gets much “brighter” (and much more action/shootouts).
  3. Grand Velas RM is one of the best AAs in North America. Not cheap but the food and service are incredible. It’s a huge resort which site on almost 100acres so it can be 90%+ occupied and you can still go 20-30 mins at a time without seeing anyone.
  4. Thanks for the heads up. Look like a Chicago is ep #2. Huge fan of the A.A. series but they’ve about run out of content. Never heard of Aerial Africa but it airs directly after Aerial Cities.
  5. Is ABIA about to overtake Love as the 3rd busiest airport in Texas?
  6. Looks like something from The Dark Knight.
  7. Thanks for doing the PVille. Where Sasquatch be?
  8. Love this stuff. It’s amazing how many people are traveling though ABIA. Every month seems to be a new record. If I recall correctly, we weren’t expected to hit our numbers until the early-mid 2020s. Likewise, I’ll never understand the constant desire to have rail to an airport. Outside of perhaps a stadium or arena on gamedays, you’ll find a greater contingent of cabs, taxis, busses, etc. at the airport than any other place in the city. I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait more than 3-4 minutes for a ride at a major US airport. Why has there been such a pressing need for a third runway? Heathrow, Gatwick, Dubai and a dozen+ other international airports operate with two or less runways and each have exponentially more traffic than ABIA.
  9. Yep. Similar to the San Diego video a few months back. Basically a bunch of long-term Navy vets stating they’ve seen some shit while flying which defies anything they’ve known to exist. Pretty interesting.
  10. Damn, I had no idea the ratings were so low.
  11. Lots of laugh-out-loud scenes from BCS but this one was undoubtedly my favorite. I am not the same Chet he is referring to, btw.
  12. Best post I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you.
  13. Maryland State Court of Appeals grants Adnan a new trial: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/29/us/adnan-syed-serial.html
  14. I believe it was just east of Guadalupe near 40th where the current AISD Baker building resides.
  15. At one stage do we reach the tipping point when driverless vehicles appear to be inevitable rendering the efficiency and need for light rail and more roadways obsolete? Surely we’re getting close, right?
  16. HBO or Netflix miniseries of Michael Crichton’s Sphere.

  18. Uncle Jim Spencer said to expect 3” rainfall totals in the next 24-36 hours. Bracing for on-and-off light to moderate drizzle.
  19. The same group which owned the Italian restaurant in Davenport Village for years recently opened a new restaurant called It’s Italian Cuisine on South Lamar. I’ve been twice, once for for brunch and once for dinner and it’s solid. Very good wine selection too.
  20. I hung out with Don King and Ricky Schroeder at a small private event during W’s second inauguration. Had no idea who Ricky Schroeder was but his wife was hot. Seemed like a cool dude. Also hit Bill Russell with an errant shot off the tee box on a course in California. I did not apologize.
  21. It likely won’t be up to Sparty, but their insurance carrier. The costs could very easily get into the hundreds of millions.
  22. This is one of my all-time favorites. All the historical documents I've seen identify this site what is now the NEC of Koenig and Burnet but I'm 90% sure that's incorrect and it's actually the NWC of 2222 and Balcones/Parkcrest opposite of the vacant gas station and Jack Brown cleaners site. The sign in the foreground is advertising new lots for sale in which would become the Allandale and Highland Park West neighborhoods.
  23. Remember when this show was stuck in production limbo for years and the reports were the writing was all of the place? Glad they figured everything out because this, along with Better Call Saul, is some of the best television going.
