    Burgers

Awesome burger. Def worth checking out. He’s usually got a standing gig on Rainey, no? If you can’t get one next time you’re in swing by HoldOut Brewery on West 5th. Very similar and there are some connections between the two too.
  2. That poor guy with the window seat would rather be in an abandoned Russian tank outside Kiev than sitting next to her right now
  3. Is it Mexican Wildfire season already? This sky today is gross
  4. That's amazing footage. Can't believe a drone would be able to fly that close
  5. It’s scary how similar Yeomens and Spencer are to one another
  6. Maybe sit this one out for a few months
  7. As Austin grows we’re seeing a lot more in the way of direct flights from our lovely city across the pond. I’m thinking about taking the family to London this summer and would like some of surly’s input on flights. I fly quite a bit domestically but it’s been years since I did any transatlantic travel. BA is now offering their nonstop to LHR on the A350-1000. Virgin Atlantic begins in a few weeks on the new Dreamliner. We’re doing another trip later this year to Switzerland so I’m not springing for the first class on this trip, likely just premium+ for London. With that in mind, which is the “nicer”, more enjoyable airline experience between the two? Everything I’ve done in the past with Virgin has been excellent but I believe the 350 is the much newer plane, correct? Not really worried about a couple hundred dollars difference if it yields a more comfortable, easier 9.5 hr ride.
  8. That was super interesting. And frightening.
  9. You said something similar back in October about our last day over 90 degrees…then December and Christmas happened. Count me in!
  10. Has there ever been a bigger fan favorite underdog in the history of modern warfare than Ukraine and Pres. Zelensky? They’re both the Rocky Balboa 4 of 80s movies.
  11. Praying and hoping this is instead similar to the final few minutes of 13 Days (fantastic movie btw) and skirting the edge of war right now is as close as it gets.
  12. This has always distracted me in modern tv shows and movies, often dramas. Two characters speaking to one another with a camera angle which switches back and forth behind the other’s POV. Often times, the person who is talking has lips which are not synched at all and the head positioning is wildly off (twss) when the camera does the immediate switch back. I don’t watch much tv or film but it’s one of those things I can’t unsee when noticed.
  13. I’ve had YTTV for neary six months now but I fired up the DVR for the first time since rewatching bowls games in December and now my it appears all my shows have forced commercials? 60 Minutes (yeah yeah yeah) had NINE commercials before even starting. None of which were skippable. Has this always been the case for non-sporting events?
  14. Is Blind Nate still with us? Haven’t seen him in this thread or out on the streets in a few years now.
  15. Yep. One of the very first posts about a month ago when this thread was bumped was essentially ‘things will slowly heat up in February around the Olympics, then Putin will finally pull the trigger immediately following closing ceremonies’. Right on cue. i just hope we can stay out of this as much as possible.
  16. I feel like George W. in the SNL skit when @Shady Ray and @956 Worldwide are discussing German-Russian-Ukrainian relations in this thread. https://youtu.be/zDgRRVpemLo?t=302
  17. I've been here a long time and I certainly would not refer to this as "one of the most significant icing events in at least the last several decades." More like, a typical Central Texas ice storm we get once every couple years.
  18. Except they’ll keep with their long-standing tradition of announcing it sometime between 4-6am Thursday morning.
  19. Sixty mph winds today can’t be good for the pollen today, can it?
  20. Same thing happened to 5280 down the street on Christmas Eve. Some serious coin was stolen.
