  1. very rude. I bet that kid fondly remembers suckling those
  2. Headed to my buddy's fishing cabin in the Lower Laguna Madre. I predict after about an hour or two on Friday night I will be tired of catching specs under the lights. Last time I was there I conservatively estimated that at any one-time there were 400-500 trout under the lights. The real challenge was avoiding the undersized trout hitting your lure and coaxing the bigger keeper size to hit it. Duck hunting in the morning, probably fish the shallows for reds/trout during the day, then hit the lights at night. All in all it will be a blast...and cast
  3. I'm assuming that is historically bad?
  4. https://www.bbc.com/sport/golf/50153023 Flying to Dallas for a meeting then to Houston to compete in the Tour Championships. I will never forget the memorial service before the start of the tournament. Very foggy day in Houston and a lone bagpiper walks down the fairway from the green to the first tee out of the fog playing. Not a dry eye in the house that day at Champions
  5. I coached my son from 5 until 12 years old, and I managed three of the four all star teams he played on. I look back on that as truly the most fun years of my life to date. I loved just about everything about it - except for a handful of parents. My son still calls me "Coach" all the time. It takes a ton of work - I remember his 10 year old year when I drew the dreaded 4:00 practice slot and no other dads showed for the first two practices. I also remember many of nights in the cage for BP at 9:00pm. But its all worth it. Still remember one of my players hitting a walk off grand slam - kid had never even come close to hitting a ball that hard before. The look on that kid's face as he circled the base path was one of pure joy. He's a junior in college and last time I saw him I asked him if he still had the ball - he just smiled and said of course its on my bookshelf at home. From reading our posts it sounds like your heart is in the right place. Keep it up - it's very rewarding.
  6. never attended or played for A&M, so not sure what "aggy career" you are referring to
  7. Bum died six years ago today.
  8. if the Oilers had simply take a knee on every offensive snap once they were up 35-3 there would have been no way the Bills could have come back.
  9. Pop's Po-Boys or Olde Tyme Grocery in Laffy
  10. Just flew back from Tampa this morning. Stayed right across the street from the Convention center at the Marriott Waterside. Nice hotel with a very good lobby bar and outdoor patio bar on the water. Also a third floor pool bar. There is a pretty good hockey bar called Hattrick's. If the Lightening are in town you should go - they play just a few blocks from the convention center. There is a free trolley (think St Charles Street Car) that goes from downtown to Ybor City. Lots of bars in Ybor. We had dinner at Columbia which is a very cool spot - FYI the bartender had three bottles of Pappy last night. Went to Bern's and its a great experience. I thought the steak was ok (needed a lot more seasoning) but the atmosphere was fantastic. I could sit and drink in their bar all night. Think Goodfellas meets Casino. We were drinking with a local chick later and she said its looks like the inside of a whore house. Pretty spot on. Didn't know anything about the Dessert Room and the waiter didn't mention it - but we were drunk as fuck so he might have been trying to get us the hell out of the there. Years ago we would go to Tampa and spend most of the time in Clearwater. That's a good spot. There is a crab place called Crabby Bills in St. Pete that was fun if you like to drink beer and pick boiled crabs. Of course you have Mons Venus, and there is a Hard rock Casino near downtown.. I didn't go, but a few others went and they said it was fun. One of them won $800 so he was pretty happy.
  11. I still don't see an apartment # in that picture....I feel like Mr. Pitt

    Ric Ocasek RIP

  13. Played a few Dire Straits songs
  14. maybe the judge and the McQueeney home owners become the liable parties?......Ha., who am I kidding!
  15. so if the friendly judge grants the injunction and then they have a catastrophic damn failure and loss of life downstream, is the GBRA off the hook?
  16. he appears to have a serious issue when dealing with authority figures. Wonder what the Vegas over/under # will be on the number of arrests he has post NFL career? 2.5?
  17. saw him last time he played in Austin. He's in Houston tonight. He's an all-timer for me. Phenomenal guitar player. Saw Radney Roster play the Heights theater (great venue by the way) last night in Houston. Intimate setting with Kim Richey. He's playing in Austin tonight at the O4 center. Guy is a Texas and national treasure.
  18. we have friends that live in the Southwest Parkway/William Cannon (Terravista) area. Sure seems to be convenient to a lot that Austin has to offer, and the homes prices seem reasonable.
  19. Jimbo failed to order the Gatorade in 2017 for the 2019 season. More evidence that he left the program in shambles.
  20. i'm a little surprised the Guadalupe River authority never taxed any of the homeowners on those lakes I know my Mom pays annual tax/fees to the Trinity River Authority for her boat dock on Lake Livingston and her use of water for her lawn irrigation system. Maybe the Lake McQueeney folks do as well, but its not covered anywhere on the river authority website.
  21. not sure there is one guy except Harris you can turn to in this bullpen right now. fucking 0-2 and you hang a slider in the middle of the plate. How about wasting a 98 mph fastball high out of the zone?
  22. Nova was awesome last night. His fastball had great late movement. Heard Sparky mention it in the early innings on the way home. Sometimes you tip your cap to the other guy - he's actually a professional getting paid to play just like our guys.
  23. why not Texas State?
  24. I would tend for brunch, but I'll throw in that lunch with the $0.25 Martini's is not a bad option either.
