  1. Ya, but most Ivy seniors probably already have a job lined up, so they can't do a fifth year. Also IF they get a fifth year (I've read the Ivy League is petitioning the NCAA to allow it), the family will still be out of pocket for another $100k of tuition since Ivy doesn't do athletic scholarships.
  2. Ivy League cancelled all spring sports. You know all those sports that are played outside by athletes in top physical shape, with just a few fans in attendance. Ya, those sports got cancelled. Seniors got royally screwed. I suspect the NCAA in a few days will either cancel all spring sports or ban all fans from attending. So get ready for Texas baseball games to be closed to fans.
  3. you probably have allergies. Your yellow pollen covered car should have told you.
  4. Flying to ATL as well on Friday so this hits close to home. I’ll be the one on the plane spraying everyone with a spray bottle filled with Tito’s Vodka (HEB sold out of Lysol)
  5. my son has taken over first base coaching duties this year with the broken hand. It has kept him involved and part of the team. He loves the team and I'm thrilled he decided to play D3. A lot of his former high school teammates who went D1 have stopped playing, but he's still chugging along and loving it. He lives with five other players and is super close with most of the team (a lot in the same fraternity as well). Couldn't really have asked for a better situation for him.
  6. I feel your pain - my son broke a metacarpal in his pitching hand the first week of fall workouts. He just got the cast off this week. Can start throwing in two weeks. Trying to salvage his last season of colege baseball.
  7. He's 6'8" 230lbs - weighs less than he did in high school. Not approaching CC territory anytime soon.
  8. ARod - "The number of games sadly comes as no surprise, as the deck has been stacked against me from day one," he said. "This is one man's decision, that was not put before a fair and impartial jury, does not involve me having failed a single drug test, is at odds with the facts and is inconsistent with the terms of the Joint Drug Agreement and the Basic Agreement, and relies on testimony and documents that would never have been allowed in any court in the United States because they are false and wholly unreliable. This injustice is MLB's first step toward abolishing guaranteed contracts in the 2016 bargaining round, instituting lifetime bans for single violations of drug policy, and further insulating its corrupt investigative program from any variety defense by accused players, or any variety of objective review." "I have been clear that I did not use performance enhancing substances as alleged in the notice of discipline, or violate the Basic Agreement or the Joint Drug Agreement in any manner, and in order to prove it I will take this fight to federal court. I am confident that when a Federal Judge reviews the entirety of the record, the hearsay testimony of a criminal whose own records demonstrate that he dealt drugs to minors, and the lack of credible evidence put forth by MLB, that the judge will find that the panel blatantly disregarded the law and facts, and will overturn the suspension. No player should have to go through what I have been dealing with, and I am exhausting all options to ensure not only that I get justice, but that players' contracts and rights are protected through the next round of bargaining, and that the MLB investigation and arbitration process cannot be used against others in the future the way it is currently being used to unjustly punish me. "I will continue to work hard to get back on the field and help the Yankees achieve the ultimate goal of winning another championship. I want to sincerely thank my family, all of my friends, and of course the fans and many of my fellow MLB players for the incredible support I received throughout this entire ordeal."
  9. Fish Bar - Anstruther Scotland Tailend - St. Andrews, Scotland
  10. yes - season 1 actually turned me into an F1 fan
  11. Beth Mowins - I will only watch a game she calls with the sound muted. Nails on a chalkboard
  12. he was a better recruiter than a football player. No tears
  13. looks like from the NFL site that today's bench press top performers had 25 reps....one was a punter. Micheal Turk - ASU
  14. add Whiting to the list of heading towards BK. I guess at this point the list of E&P heading to chapter 11 is longer than the list of those not heading in that direction.
  15. Ya but there's revolution everyday
  16. I think you will see a few more altercations at Minute Maid this year between fans. Opposing fans are going to pop-off and Astros fans are going to have enough of it and verbal altercations that move to pushing and shoving at a minimum will follow.
  17. Ya I would stay in downtown Fort Worth instead of Arlington. A lot better restaurants in Fort Worth and probably a better chance you won't get killed.
  18. episode 2 in Matamoras - who knew? - mountains, clear mountain streams, clean streets. Its been so many years since e went across during spring break...time to go back I guess I really liked the Don Guerra character, and the fact he had the Brownsville Police at his party.
  19. Yes the players were given immunity and admitted to cheating in 2017, but decided to lie about cheating in 2018 and 2019. He could ask his new teammate but I’m betting Gleyber doesn’t have the stones to approach Cole.
  20. I will never say another thing bad about Carlos Correa. Go ahead and sign him to a long term deal right fucking now https://twitter.com/fielderschoicep/status/1228758067250159628?s=21
  21. honestly one of the best books I've ever read.
  22. so for perspective the Moon is 239k miles away. This thing will get within 3.6 million miles....slow news Day at NASA I guess.
  23. Bellinger hit .143 with 17 K's in the 2017 world series then backed up that shit stain performance with a .063, 6 k's in 16 AB performance in the 2018 WS. The guy is in pure deflection mode - he has proved he cannot handle the big stage and may have single handily cost his team two titles due to his choke jobs.
  24. sounds like a team full of kids who have already hit puberty - my guess is a good portion of those kids will not be all that special once high school rolls around, and the odds are firmly against any of them playing D1 college ball.
