  4. To follow up on this. We went on Sunday night and the place was hopping. Had an Old Fashioned to start that was perfect, and we shared a bottle of one of the White French Burgundies on the menu..can't remember which, but it was nice. We shared the Nancy Cakes, Lamb Dumplings, Ricotta Gnocchi with roasted mushrooms, and the Sirloin Tips with beef fat sticky rice. After that we decided to skip dessert and instead ordered the Caramelized squash cappelletti in brown butter sauce - it had a nice sweetness to it that was perfect as an entree or a dessert. Service was fantastic with our server very attentive, but not too attentive. Perfect balance of making sure we were ok, but not a presence every ten minutes. Will gladly return.
  5. that's what is called a "laundry room". Fridge is to keep drinks for the maid, or maybe its full of beer. The "shower" is a dog bath. The rich just live differently
  6. I would probably say American Girl, but he is another that its damn difficult to pin down to one song. He and The Heartbreakers had so many hits. You Wreck Me might be my favorite of them all Springsteen is almost impossible for me to pick - but I'l throw out Racing in the Streets. That's the first song that comes to mind...but damn Jungleland.....
  7. just hoping they can somehow connect Art to the initial cover up.

  11. Nigeria is a case study in corruption, not polio. Gates paid off their $76mil of polio debt. It's the estimated $300bil their own people have stolen through corruption that is the overriding issue in that county.
  12. well the weekend didn't turn out like we planned. Arrived Friday evening to find the bay waters really off color with tons of grass floating. Made for the under the lights fishing to be not very good. Saturday morning we arrive at the "duck blind" to find out we are hunting on a spoil island because the air boat was malfunctioning. Shot one duck while we watched flocks of thousands fly in the marsh. Did make a couple of drifts on the way back to the fishing cabin and managed four nice keeper specs. Saturday was mostly drinking, football, napping, eating. Woke up Sunday morning to flat conditions in the bay and made an audible and went offshore and caught a four man state limit of red snapper - that was a blast and made the already great weekend a roaring success.
  13. What's this boards opinion on Nancy's Hustle. Wife's birthday coming up and need to find a good spot - also would like to try a spot we've never been to...although that can be risky.
  14. "going concern" usually perks peoples ears up.
  15. Buddy has a guide on retainer for the duck hunting and bay fishing - we can handle the fishing under the lights though Last time we went we had two guides. I swiftly got in the first boat with the moderately inebriated guys. We had a blast caught a ton of fish.. The other boat gave up because the guys kept falling off the boat (bay skiff) - a little too much pre-fishing boozing for them. Only three of us this trip so it will be rather chill.
  16. yep - we will be further south near Arroyo City. Never duck hunted down there. I have no idea if we will even see a bird or not. But just getting in a blind and watching the sun come up over the Laguna Madre will be nice.
  17. very rude. I bet that kid fondly remembers suckling those
  18. Headed to my buddy's fishing cabin in the Lower Laguna Madre. I predict after about an hour or two on Friday night I will be tired of catching specs under the lights. Last time I was there I conservatively estimated that at any one-time there were 400-500 trout under the lights. The real challenge was avoiding the undersized trout hitting your lure and coaxing the bigger keeper size to hit it. Duck hunting in the morning, probably fish the shallows for reds/trout during the day, then hit the lights at night. All in all it will be a blast...and cast
  19. I'm assuming that is historically bad?
  20. https://www.bbc.com/sport/golf/50153023 Flying to Dallas for a meeting then to Houston to compete in the Tour Championships. I will never forget the memorial service before the start of the tournament. Very foggy day in Houston and a lone bagpiper walks down the fairway from the green to the first tee out of the fog playing. Not a dry eye in the house that day at Champions
  21. I coached my son from 5 until 12 years old, and I managed three of the four all star teams he played on. I look back on that as truly the most fun years of my life to date. I loved just about everything about it - except for a handful of parents. My son still calls me "Coach" all the time. It takes a ton of work - I remember his 10 year old year when I drew the dreaded 4:00 practice slot and no other dads showed for the first two practices. I also remember many of nights in the cage for BP at 9:00pm. But its all worth it. Still remember one of my players hitting a walk off grand slam - kid had never even come close to hitting a ball that hard before. The look on that kid's face as he circled the base path was one of pure joy. He's a junior in college and last time I saw him I asked him if he still had the ball - he just smiled and said of course its on my bookshelf at home. From reading our posts it sounds like your heart is in the right place. Keep it up - it's very rewarding.
  22. never attended or played for A&M, so not sure what "aggy career" you are referring to
