  1. MANPAD missiles like the Stinger, are relatively small and light (22 lb for a Stinger.) Antiship missiles vary, but something like a Harpoon is 10+ feet long and weighs over 1,000 lbs. I don't think a Bayraktar has that kind of capacity.

  3. Wasn't "no taxation without representation" a big thing once? These crooks are doing the same thing--trying to deny citizens in Democratic areas from the ability to make policy or administer government, even at a local level. I'd love to see a general strike, and large cities need to stop remitting sales taxes and other payments (Robin Hood, etc.) to this corrupt State. Individual citizens should stop registering cars, paying other licenses and fees, etc.
  4. Why is our inside game so bad? It seems we rarely get good penetration to the basket, and even when we do have position for an "easy" shot, we miss more layups, dunk opportunities, putbacks, tip-ins etc. than anybody else. Our whole game is midrange and deeper perimeter shooting, plus free throws (if the refs decide to call fouls on the opponent).
  5. If anything I came out of this season of DtS liking, or at least sympathizing, with Otmar more than before. Of course it's DtS so I'm not saying it's an accurate portrayal of everything going on. I also came out of this season liking Zak Brown less so than before. Horner seems like someone who is good at their job but I wouldn't want to hang out with.
  6. #1 and 2 I'm fine with. #3 I guess I could live with. #4 is poop.
  7. Real talk tho, what happened to Superbowl commercials? They suck so bad now. It's not that they're different, they just aren't funny or interesting. I think part of the reason commercials suck now is because the products being promoted suck. Good commercials are for tangible and/or cool things like beer, sportscars, tires, watches, whiskey, breakfast cereal, maybe fast food wars. But most ads these days are for things NO ONE should give a SHIT about: Phone plans. Smartphones in general. Any kind of app on a smart phone. Anything at all to do with phones. Also: prescription drugs. Prescription drug ads should not be on TV,
  8. I tried clipping a few sagging branches that will be too high to reach once the ice melts. This resulted in me getting showered with ice chips, meltwater, and debris.
  9. Shit I hoped this was over, but a big oak limb just fell against the front of my house. And more precip is falling, and the ice on my trees is still very dry (not dripping). 78754.
  10. This was a nationally televised* (OK, cable) bowl game and some of y'all act like it was the orange-white scrimmage. When Texas plays a higher-ranked opponent in a bowl game that's practically next door to Austin, I expect to see a certain level of intensity and execution. Fuck Tom Herman but I bet his team wins this game. And I agree with the poster above, it's not cool with me that team leaders just sit out the bowl game, regardless of their pro prospects. If a player is on scholarship for a season, I expect them to be available to play that full season including any bowl game (unless there is a legitimate reason such as an injury). This was a winnable game for Texas and I'm pretty pissed about losing.
  11. This time I pre-killed my shrubs, so I'm ready.
  12. No matter what you show them, they'll end up watching nothing but standard def channels in weird zoom/stretch modes. When I'd switch to the corresponding HD channel to show my folks how much better HD is, they'd always say "it looks the same to me ." They'd just keep using the SD channels because the numbers were lower and easier to remember.
  13. Classic Dallas loss. Playing a mediocre-to-bad opponent and get dominated in 4Q. Multiple opportunities to put the game away, on defense AND offense , can't get it done. This team is such a paper tiger, folds under any adversity.
  14. It'll be fine. Now this, I dunno
  15. Covid hospitalizations in TX look up close to 50% in the last two weeks. Is this increase "real," or an artifact of hospitals not doing many discharges over the holiday week? https://dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/tests.aspx It seems like an unfortunate time for DSHS to fall back to weekly updates, which they'll be doing tomorrow (Nov. 30) according to the website.
  16. I'm OK with our overall season record but the way we got here was a fucking beating. I feel like each game takes a year off my life (except for OU and Kansas).
  17. I'm glad the team didn't quit because my heart almost did. After that sackfumble by Ewers I would have smashed my TV to bits if it wasn't a brand new OLED.
  18. They are all too nebulous and lacking in machismo or establishing dominance. I'd go with "Biden is kicking Putin's ass up and down Ukraine," except that somehow Republicans who were all hawks on every possible opportunity for war until like 5 years ago, are now just fine with whatever Russia does.
  19. TNF is Green Bay vs. the Titans. Who wants to bet that Green Bay is complete shit tonight, looking nothing like they did against Dallas.
  20. Those are some very oddly shaped heads. Did a carnival train break down in Collie Station and lose their freaks & geeks?
  21. This game may not have quite been an "ass kicking" but it highlighted several major flaws. Dallas' DL and LB were consistently handed their ass by GB's rushing on early downs, which made it that much harder to stop drives. Green Bay is only a midpack rushing team but they dominated the line of scrimmage. Worse, Dallas' offense (especially passing) mostly scores touchdowns on home-run plays and on big coverage mistakes by the defense. When playing mediocre teams, this is still good enough to rack up a decent number of points, but football is situational and Dallas has great difficulty scoring or getting 1st downs when it matters most.
  22. This was a complete team failure. Dak hits some plays, racks up some points, but is unable to consistently get the KEY completions for touchdowns/first downs that are needed to put any game away. Most of Dallas's "successful" pass plays look improvised or lucky. They can't reliably hit the 8-to-15 yard stuff that you need to sustain drives, or score TDs from first-&-goal. The Dallas running game was tepid in the first half, and then was abandoned just when it seemed like it was starting to work. The defense got a few big plays but again, failed at consistency--gave up way too many run yards on 1st & 2nd down, setting up lots of easy short-yardage 3rd downs. DBs were inconsistent with coverage. How do you fucking lose to a team that lost to Detroit? You could feel this 4th qtr collapse coming from a mile away. In a lot of ways it was like watching UT play.
  23. Reminds me a little of Shea Morenz minus the baseball. Or Peter Gardere? At least Gardere beat OU 4 times.
  24. Man, in hindsight my parents had it easy. By the time I was 10 I was getting up on my own (nobody "woke me up for school"). making my own "breakfast" (Raisin Bran or a microwaved muffin or biscuit), walking to the nearest school bus stop a half mile away (why do kids today have the bus practically stop in front of every house?), etc. Uphill, in the snow, etc. To be fair my dad did take me fishing a lot but mainly because it gave him a chance to drink and be away from the wife.
