That's some serious revisionism there.  Herbstreit called Austin a "cesspool" in reaction to reports that Charlie Strong was about to be FIRED.

Exactly.  We were a cesspool because we weren't giving Strong a fair shot.  That was bullshit.

I don't hate KH but that comment was complete and utter bullshit.

  5. I did pretty well last night.

Was thinking about putting some of my winnings on regular season wins:

    Texas over 9.5 (+180)

    Texas under 9.5 (-220)

    aTm over 7.5 (-105)

    aTm under 7.5 (-115)

I like the over in both from a pure gambling perspective.  The money is right on the Texas side.  I just think somehow the ags fall into 8 wins.  If they just win one of the big 4 they can lose another to Auburn, Arky or one of the Miss teams and still get to 8, they should easily handle everyone else.   Plus, if I lose this bet I won't give a shit and will fork over my money with a grin on my face.

Thoughts?  Any other team regular season wins stick out to anyone?

Apparently, when A&M started the search for Sumlin's replacement and Jimbo's name was brought up as aggy having an interest in, Karen told her FSU buddies that Jimbo would never work for a second-tier football school.

This would be worth some digging.  What is the FSU board she was on?

  7. Ags bitching about their branding is hilarious to me.   Unfortunately, I have had the misfortune of being on their campus several times this year and you can't walk 10 steps without some goober saying, "Howdy!"

This is their brand!  And they all buy in.  It's moronical.

Perhaps I shouldn't put this in public, but anybody hearing anything about Tom Herman making a move with a certain Aggie 5-star?

I agree that Demas seems brainwashed but if you want to start that rumor here I guess we can roll with it.  1. Demas flipping and maybe even the talk of it may cause wrist splitting over on texags.  2.  They are likely to believe it with the way this month has gone for them.  Keep in mind the volleyball story got wings.  So anything is possible.

Because the Aggies hate any coach that Texas has, they always assume everybody hates any coach Texas has. They feel obliged to feed that hate with lies. Same way they feed their own need to feel loved and important.

I think Herman is probably polarizing for a lot of schools.  tosu certainly has a hatred as well.  I don't care if he is liked by other programs or not, as long as he is ours and is producing.  Right now the things that people are pointing to are not a blip on my radar.   If he was ignoring sexual assault or something like that it would be another story.  But I would damn sure rather have Herman than Jimbo with what is publicly known or speculated about the two.

Man it all just makes me sad that he's not back. We damn sure could have used him, and even if he never bled burnt orange his attitude clearly didn't stop him from showing out last year. IDGAF if he viewed his time at Texas as a springboard to the career he was hoping to have, that's what college is for. But now it doesn't look like he's got the career he was wanting and we don't have our top receiver and it seems like a big lose-lose.

First of all it was totally his decision.   Second, if he didn't want to play for the longhorns this year, we will be better off without him this year.  That is all the team needs is a senior cancer.  I don't know that he could have topped last years production.  If he can't prepare for the NFL career who is to say how he would have prepared this year.  I wish him the best but once he made his decision it is not worth looking back to "what if" or "what could have been."  Next man up and be excited for the opportunity.

I wish him the best and thought when he went to the Saints he had a very good shot but the fact that this hasn't work out makes me think we may not miss him that much had he returned.
