IS Herman going to have to go on a recruiting warpath himself here after the dead period or what?

Yes!  If he is going to keep coaches who fall short in recruiting he will have to recruit for them or replace them.

So how much respite will Dorbah's commitment buy us from the back-and-forth? 30 minutes? Two hours? Maybe the rest of the day if we're lucky?

Considering it will leave us with still only 8 commits and not even in the top 20, not time at all.  Hell most on here already have him in the bag anyway.

But when he touches on Broughton, he misses the fucking point. "Oh, he has a scheme fit preference and if he can't figure out it, what can we do?"

I don't know what you're upset about, if Broughton isn't leaning one way or the other, and he is going to sit at a nice restaurant with a notebook and his mother and grandmother before making a decision, there is still a chance!  We need to get our hands on that notebook.

Everyone needs to chill the fuck out and accept it for what it is, we're gonna fill up with 4 stars and late evals and have a top 10 class every year but if you think we're gonna get 5 5 stars without playing the same game everyone else is you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Look who our competition is for Ringo, Wilson, and Bijan fucking Georgia Ohio State and Oregon bastions of purity and rules following. With Broughton Aggy is desperate for a win and will do anything to keep him from us. Herman needs to either stop shooting for the moon every cycle or accept that an unenforced rule is not a rule at all. Its not like Texas sports have never cheated, hell just look at our tennis coach. I'm not saying we need to go full throated Georgia but they need to get off their high horse stop being greedy and spread that money to recruits its a new era and its no longer cheating.

I think you are being a little too simplistic.  Buying players to build your program is not the be all end all.  Let's face it, Strong was a disaster and that has carryover.  1st, if we were kicking ou's ass on the regular this would not be so much of a struggle. We would win those head to head battles. 2nd, once these kids  figure out Jimbo is just a snake oil salesman (and the aggy boosters realize what they are getting for their money is the same old thing), we will win those head to head battles.   There may be some kids that want the quick money but if we were winning consistently this wouldn't even be a struggle.  We need to win our conference.  We need to stay relevant in the playoffs and recruiting will take care of itself.  I have no doubt that the negative recruiting against us is our past performance and opposing teams convincing kids that last year's 10 win season (and the Georgia win) was fluke.  Do it again and things will change.  They may change as  early as the LSU and ou games this year, but it may be to late at that point for a top 5 class.    Yes, we need more draft picks in the NFL too, but that is not something we can control, at least at this point.

Fire drew, Stan, Warehime, and Giles into the sun.

We are at the point now that Herman has to be very much involved in all of the high level recruits.  I'm not giving up on this class but if we lose Broughton, Bijan, Wilson, etc.   This has to land on him as well.   We are in desperate need of a high level recruit.  As each one slips away you have to wonder what the hell is going on.

I am not giving up on this class but if things are this bleak come November our problems are bigger than these 4 individually or combined.

I just think it’s a little surprising that Ohio State doesn’t seem to have skipped a beat in recruiting post Urban. Most programs, even the elite ones, hit a speed bump or two when they replace a coach of that caliber with a no-name doofus.

    Same with Riley at BlowU.

Lets have a better day today people.  Yesterday was a brutal read.

Well I don't know what's worse, quoting myself or you fuckers spending 13 hours doing cheese puns.

I'm putting Bradshaw in the next death pool.

This sounds like the posting version of Oscar Giles’s recruiting. Everyone just chill out and have some wings, man. Texas recruits itself.

Not defending anyone and I am pissed off about Broughton (if we don't get him) and Bijan (if we don't get him), but it is still early as fuck.  Yesterday was so bad I was compelled to go see what the recruiting thread was like in June of last year and it was nothing like this.  Now later in the cycle it was but its June.

I don't see him as a round 1 guy, but his size will draw him attention. I can see realistically late round 2  to early round 3 just on size

Only way that happens is if he uses his size this year to win more one on one battles.   I'd like to see him improve his positioning on defenders.  With his speed, he is going to need an outstanding year for someone to take him in the first 3 rounds.  And that is still a maybe.  Would love for you to be right though.

Every team is the land is pointing to Sam as Texas' leading rusher and our OL issues.

Well maybe that is because we don't have an Evans or Bijan?  I don't see the OL issues continuing this year barring injuries.

It would be MORE than strike three counting different classes.  Three misses just in this class alone.

What I don't understand is why?  What is it about Drayton that he can't close on a target?

I had an aggy fan tell me that their new DT-Raikes- would be the best DT in Texas this year. Any thoughts on where he actually would be ranked here in Texas

He would be behind Vernon Broughton and Branard Wright.

"They (OU) couldn't even beat Georgia - who had something to play for - ..."

They're actually never gonna stop thinking that Georgia just didn't feel like playing football against us. They feel the need to emphasize when they did or didn't have "something to play for" smh

Until we beat Bama (and it "means" something) they are never going to shut up.   Because that one year, they beat bama so they are a better program, in a better conference.  Any other longhorn win can be excused in their minds.

  14. The problem with the USC gif and the OU gif is that in both of those he is not trying to catch with his hands.  He is trying (waiting) to catch with his chest.  Yes, the OU gif was pass interference.  Yes, it may or may not have been caught.  The OU defender hands were between his hands and it may have been knocked out.  The attempts at the catch are where you can nitpick.  But his hands should have been on the ball in both gifs and not allowed to come to his chest.  That's a technique problem, its not bad hands being pointed out in those two gifs it's lack of hands.

Can't believe I am diving into this shit.
