  1. Team Rex and Hartzell. This was dismissing the arrest from when they started to camp and wouldn't move (i.e., not the first incident). If the prosecutor doesn't want to do their job that's an Austin problem (of which there are many and doesn't surprise me in the least). But hey, I'm sure not supporting rights of a bunch of douchebag purple haired kids and their far left instigators to camp in violation of rules and resist arrest makes me a trumper per Surly standards.
  2. Bought out Suter. Really didn't think they would pull the trigger. Obviously that means they think Bischel is ready + making room for Tanev (or someone else). Still a lot to figure out on D but I'm sure they have a plan. I actually thought Suter had a quality year in a more limited role until he wore down in the playoffs (no doubt partly as a result from playing too many minutes when we went to 5 D starting game 3 of the playoffs). But his quality of play was only going one direction and we all saw the Pavs fall off as father time caught up with him.
  3. I'm just saying you don't appreciate the irony that literally all sports fans in the US (with no dog in the fight, i.e., not Yankees fans) universally think Boston sports fans (along with Philadelphia sports fans) are terrible. I've actually never minded any of the Boston teams (other than being over Brady/Bellicheck) and I love the City itself, but the Boston fanbase has always been annoying AF.
  4. Just making the point we need to be filling the coffers on Texas One Fund. I am a casual baseball fan at best. Haven't been to a game in person in well over a decade (live in Dallas) and don't really pay close attention until we get close to regionals. But this was such a fatal blow to end the cold war before we officially play them again in all sports I'll donate to baseball as well on principle. I'm just making the point that from their side, any post-Jimbo letdown in willingness to spend on NIL just got a major boost. I've never seen them so mad and it's fantastic obviously more than worth it. But we better be ready to keep the $$ flowing in all sports.
  5. I'm glad I only heard the Texags segment and not the other nonsense.
  6. I mean of course they are all in the portal. There is no coach. That was a given. That doesn't really mean anything as far as where they eventually end up (including back at A&M). I'm not making any predictions here. Obviously relationships matter in addition to NIL $$. I'm sure Schloos gets some of those he wants at least. I'm just saying that there is no doubt the A&M NIL budget probably got a huge boost from where it was 36 hours ago. Particularly if it means getting a portal "W" over Schloss. Their ego is completely shattered and losing all of these guys would just be another blow.
  7. As it relates to Aggy players, obviously TBD who they hire but you know damn well some of their boosters are about to offer whatever it would take to keep some of their players from coming to Texas in a pure ego preservation move.
  8. The butthurt from around the 1:20:00 mark through next few minutes is worth the listen alone. These Aggy tears are just what the Dr. ordered to get us to football season. Just incredible.
  9. Made my first baseball specific Texas One Fund donation. Small price to pay for all the aggy tears. Hope a lot of others had the same idea.
  10. 1995 - last game of SWC. 15 year old me made a beautiful juke move past a corp douche and celebrated with the team midfield. It was back when they sat fans in folding chairs around the track/field so already plenty of fans on the field and I (and dozens of others) hopped out of the endzone. The early wave got through easily before A&M corp and students came down from the stands to block (and fight) any stragglers that were outnumbered by then trying to get through. But pretty elite sports memory for 15 year old me. No cell phones back then so my dad hung out in the endzone for like 45 mins after the game not knowing if I was arrested or beaten up or what until I finally made it back through the stands.
  11. I had to stop following "Nash" Texas fan account as well. He was having a breakdown about aggy winning a championship game 1. It was the aggiest shit I've ever seen. Sure, I would prefer TN wins all things considered, but if A&M wins, who gives a shit?
  12. Unbelievable Edmonton. Still bitter the Stars aren't there but the Edmonton fans in Dallas were great and what an amazing home atmosphere. Hope they can pull it off.
  13. Makes sense. We got something for him and Nill made sure to get him in a situation where he should get plenty of playing time with an opportunity to take a step forward. Probably viewed as a solid W by his friends in the locker room. I think it's pretty clear Nill has a reputation for doing right by players.
  14. Put me in the category of hoping new management takes over and somehow shakes things up and turns it around. I strongly prefer to fly out of Love but also pretty much done with SWA at this point due to all the things mentioned in this thread (completely inability to manage multi-day weather event until proven otherwise, ridiculous boarding and pre-boarding process and apparently now close calls on flights).
  15. Not surprised he was moved but thought he had more value than a 4th (which is next to nothing). He's a nightly bottom 6 player on a team without the Stars forward depth.
  16. Presumably that pretty much guarantees Borque's opening day spot and figuring out terms with Steel?
  17. Woah. Traded Dellandrea for a 4th rounder. Not much value in that trade at all. I'm guessing too much of a cap hit to extend given whatever else they are about to get done? Need to see some analysis on this or the corresponding move. Of all FO personnel in teams I follow, I trust Nill the most, but didn't expect that.
  18. I'm not surprised to see a step back. And it wouldn't have shocked me to not make the playoffs (in a close race). But I didn't see 10 games back in mid June. Even in years where I had zero expectations, my hope was just to get us to early to mid August within striking distance before we start paying attention to horns training camp, etc. for fall. This team better wake up or we'll dig too much of a hole to have a chance at even that within a few weeks. Hopefully getting guys back soon from injury provides a spark.
  19. I don't see it for the reasons pointed out in that Tiffin article a week or so back but guess we'll see.
  20. I can't imagine how hard that would be given what he means to his country and the weight he carries in that regard, but it would absolutely the be the right move for next season. Obviously we are biased.
  21. Way too much negativity on this thread for a team that massively overachieved. Winning a Championship is hard. Boston hung around the rim for what, damn near the last decade before finally putting the pieces together? Obviously disappointing outcome and particularly that we didn't play better but it's a learning experience that will make Luka better. They were clearly a superior team and deserving champ.
  22. Bad time for an awful shooting night across the board outside of Josh Green.
